"Courage" album - Official Topic

Oprah has a show on Apple TV+ called The Oprah Conversation. She interviewed Mariah recently when Mariah was promoting her book - so it’s feasible Celine could be interviewed by Oprah for the release of Text For You or the relaunch of the Courage tour, etc.

I might be wrong, cause I don't follow all Oprah's interviews, but it seems to me she has now a specific subject to all (os most) of them. The ones that I watch was all about racism issues, including the Mariah one, the Obamas, Meghan and Harry, Amanda Gorman...

I know she also interviewed Matthew McConaughey, I didn't watch, but I do know he is a well know humanitarian, has a lot of philanthropic works, including one to help teenager women, wich is another constant topic in Oprah's interviews.

I don't see Celine being interviewed by her to talk about a romantic comedy.

The incentive for Celine doing an interview would be to promote her new movie / get herself out there again.

But you're right, I imagine if Celine appeared on this new show then the conversation might be more about Celine's perseverance / survival through time times / moving forward with her goals and dreams despite such personal hardship.

After reading the log line for Oprah's new show, Celine certainly falls under the "master of their craft" category.

If you watch this trailer for the Matthew interview, you can imagine how Celine would be promoting her new movie (as Mariah & Matthew were promoting their books) or perhaps the relaunch of the Courage tour... but it would really be more about her story of overcoming personal hardships (losing the love of her life / her career partner) and still finding the strength / courage to move forward with her goals and dreams... like starring in her first big movie role.

You might be right, would be a very Oprah like interview, although this part of Celine’s life was already addressed by the media a lot.

I think Celine might have a bigger chance if she were willing to talk about how she became a target to those QAnon lunatics. But we all know Celine doesn't do politics (not even when necessary). And there's another problem I see it: Oprah has now a no limitations policy to her interviews, nothing can be out of the table, and she has a political agenda.

I don't know, just chatting here, but it seems to me it has to be more than overcoming grief.

Agreed, I don't see Celine chatting about anything politically related.

Perhaps there could be a pandemic angle... life during the pandemic / coming out of the pandemic.

I could see Oprah doing some shows that highlight the transition out of the darkest days of the pandemic and into a new normal.

Celine is one of the biggest concert acts to this very day... so diving back into concerts after the pandemic with one of the world's most successful live performers would be an interesting conversation. Maybe they'd even touch on a potential return to Vegas.

And even though the grief topic has been covered by other media, it would still be therapeutic for us fans to finally see Oprah and Celine cover this.

I am sure we will see Oprah and Celine together again. However, the thought of Celine promoting another Vegas show on Oprah just bores me to tears. It's like, I think by now we should be finding out some new ground or really get deep in on Celine's opinions of certain things.

Perhaps when Celine has a new man or new love I could see Oprah chatting about that with her

“Everybody’s losing people and everybody’s going through sickness … and things they can’t even figure out, and it can be overwhelming. You have to find within yourself courage among your family, your friends and you first, I believe.”

She mentioned this when COURAGE released, back then I'm not quite relate the meaning of this, but now, I can, because I just lost my beloved husband.

Dion said “Courage” represents the choices people face in difficult times. “Are you going to go through it with positivity and be open and keep going and find strength,” she said, “or are you just going to let go and stop everything and find weakness and more tears and can’t see the light?”

And right now, I'm at the "just going to let go and stop everything and find weakness and more tears and can’t see the light".

Has this been the Spotify banner since the album was released and I'm just noticing it or is it new?

It always been one of my favourite songs in the album 🥰😍 Celine's interpretation and the way Sam Smith sings the background vocals really bring something ghostly and vulnerable to the song

When listening to "For The Lover That I Lost", I prefer the duet with Sam Smith made by fans. It's like they are really having a duet especially at the end where Céline sings in high while Sam sings at low note.

God love you for trying to be positive on here but I'm afraid this will just bring the negative Nancy's out in full force! I agree with you - 2021 is a great year to be a Celine fan!! :whee:

Not Courage-related, just Junos.

A few nice Céline throwbacks on their IG page in last few days:

Just came across this and I don't think it came up here before, but this is from Battle of the Blades, which is a CBC TV skating competition (think of it like Dancing with the Stars... on ice!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWARN3xaZ2s

"Meghan Agosta and Andrew Poje perform to ‘Flying on My Own’ by Celine Dion on October 22nd 2020, Episode 1 of Battle of the Blades. They are competing on behalf of the BC Children’s Hospital."

Megan Agosta is a hockey player who was part of Canadian women's Olympic gold-medal teams in several different Olympic games. Andrew Poje is an ice dancer and three-time World medalist.

Now that we've been listening to this album for a while, which songs do you think are the strongest / will stand the test of time? (I think many songs from Celine's past albums can stand the test of time... even if they were never performed live or became widely known.)
