Who's on the radio with her latest songs? Mariah? No. I live in Romania and rarely hear Mariah on radio, except her Christmas songs. Celine is played everyday, especially Imperfections, IDAN, I'm Alive, ANDHC, etc. And I think that this is the same thing with worldwide radios, Celine is more played over the year than Mariah. She really is the most played artist from the 90s.

 

Unfortunately, here in Brazil, that's not the case. Last time I heard a song from Celine on radio was MHWGO a couple years ago. I would like to hear her more...

She can be heard quite a bit in the US on adult contemporary stations on satellite radio

In France I hear "Encore un soir", "J'irai ou tu iras" and "Ziggy" rather often. Even "En attendant ses pas" rather regularly on Chérie FM.

After irit mentioning that we might be hearing from play me like a love song soon.. So what if the movie text for you was supposed to happen earlier and was supposed to come out in 14th valentines day 2020... but got pushed? Although they said soon we would be hearing from the song last year if it's not coming out anymore or anything they would not mention this again.. Fact they do means maybe there is something we didnt know maybe it was never intended form Courage album.

 

Same as Lying down Music video maybe idea was to release it in 2020 feb so lying down could be a proper single and keep the tour promoting but with pendamic stopped they decided to wait till tour begins again.. These are offcourse theories.. Maybe they saw they made a mistake releaseing three songs at hte same time.

 

I don't think so. They've teased LD in James Corden's Carpool Karaoke in May 2019. That was long before Courage released. They shot the MV for LD and there was even video where Celine interviewed with red dress and talk about the concept of the MV. So I think they planned LD as first single from Courage. But something happened and the video was never released. Instead, they chose another route by realease 3 song simultaneously in hoping to reach wider audience, which failed due to bad promotion of the album.

 

As for PMLALS, I think they initially submit it as 007 theme song. They were so confidence that the song will be selected that Humberto Gatica tweeted the song will be released on February 2020. There was a snippet video of the song, remember? But then Billie Ellish song was selected. So they decided to keep in their fault, waiting for another chance to release the song. It's only my theory. But I think it makes more sense. At least for me.

This was never for a James Bond film. The notion was born here when people were speculating as to why the song wasn't on Courage.

That was really unfortunate. Albums don't leak so early now. The only explanation I find for Courage is that Celine is still a big physical seller, so they probably started distribution early to make sure many stores had copies and someone leaked it. Or maybe one of the critics that got an early copy was a lamb

I dont think so we dont have confirmation that the lyind down video was recorded before the imperfections and courage one so dont think that is accurate. They teased a lot of songs on carpool karaoke.. I think problem with the three song release is three strong singles from the album.. if they had chossen lying down and other two less single material woul have been better, think their plan has been put on hold when she got sick i do believe promotion rounds were planned properly but getting sick got in the way..

 

I do not thinkg that play me that love song was a bond song.. I think lovers never die has a far more bond feeling that pmlals.. so but we will see i guesse. Point is if it is not getting released dont think they keep ion saying soon.

You have to search for it under albums. Surely it should be on the main page as her last eat album?!?

I also think the same, Kev. For promotion at least, they could have put Imperfections on the top 5( generally speaking as from Courage it is the most streamed song).

They did put it on that list somewhere near September- November but it was taken down later.

And 17M is not bad for only 1 year.

I don't know who referred when you said "they", but there is no person responsible for this. Is an algorithm from Spotify system. The songs and albums that appear in the main page is the most popular ones in that week. Not necessarily the ones with the biggest streams in all, but the ones the were most listened in the week. That's why Imperfections did appear there at some point.

 

In order to appear in the main page, people have to listen the album. They usually keep the latest release (single or album) on top for while, but I think it's not for more than a year.

I'm pretty sure that she would have performed "Flying On My Own", "Courage", "Imperfections" and maybe "Lying Down" too. Plus, shortened versions of a selection of hits like she did back in 2007.

I was quite disappointed back in 2016 when I saw that Oprah wouldn't do Celine's first English TV interview after the passing of René. I still think they could have done an epic English version of "Au-delà Du Rêve" with Oprah. So I'm pretty sure she would have asked Celine about how she coped with the loss and how the making of the album helped her to reflect her feelings.

 

And yes, I'm convinced she would be in the wig lol

Why didn't she give an interview with Oprah in 2016? That would have been interesting, that's for sure. She gave interviews in the US (ABC,..), but Oprah would have been special.

Yes, it would’ve been amazing if Oprah could have been the one to interview Celine in 2016. It definitely could’ve been a big event. Katie Couric also would’ve been a nice choice. I’m thankful Deborah Roberts did such a great job, but I do feel like an Oprah interview would’ve gotten even more attention.

 

Hopefully Celine & Oprah will have a big reunion interview soon. It would be so lovely and it feels overdue. If nothing else... it could be for Oprah’s new show on Apple TV+... The Oprah Conversation where she’s already interviewed Barack Obama, Mariah, etc.

It was a bit surprising, but I think GMA may have higher viewership and that's why. I don't think Oprah does promotional stuff ie promoting an album, but I could be wrong.

Oprah produced 3 boys and a new show for the OWN network, but after that she never appeared there again

I feel the moment has passed for another Oprah interview. I don’t follow what Oprah is up to these days but it seems like she only does interviews with topical people eg Harry and Meghan or for major events.

Oprah has a show on Apple TV+ called The Oprah Conversation. She interviewed Mariah recently when Mariah was promoting her book - so it’s feasible Celine could be interviewed by Oprah for the release of Text For You or the relaunch of the Courage tour, etc.

Who knows! Celine might up her promo game a little bit since it’s her first substantial movie role. I won’t count on it... but I’ll keep hoping for a Celine + Oprah reunion. And it’s nice to know it’s an actual possibility since Oprah has a show / platform on Apple TV+.
