Peppercorn1991 Posted July 10, 2017 at 05:53 PM Posted July 10, 2017 at 05:53 PM It's a bit out of kilt with reality - mainly the album sales - and also some context needed... As of January 2007, she had confirmed UK album sales of 8.997 million. Since then, we've had... 2007 - Taking Chances - 380,0002008 - My Love - 1,000,0002013 - Loved Me Back To Life - 350,000Other + catalogue - 200,000 That's around 2 million more at retail which takes her to approx. 11 million. And I highly doubt record club sales are included in the figures from Sony - which will probably be upwards of 500,000 for her 90s albums. Thanks for this! Always like your facts! Kev x Quote
wjd Posted July 10, 2017 at 06:06 PM Posted July 10, 2017 at 06:06 PM ^ No worries! I suspect that her retail sales are somewhere between 10.8-10.9 million. With club sales of over 500,000. Total 11.5 million albums sold in the UK - which is the 2nd highest tally of any female artist in UK chart history (Whitney has sold around 11 million if you include the Bodyguard OST - the OCC doesn't include this in her total and as such, she's credited with less than 9 million album sales). 1 Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

Loup_garou Posted July 10, 2017 at 06:17 PM Posted July 10, 2017 at 06:17 PM I just hope Humberto lays off the auto-tune for this album, none of that stuff like TSMGO single. I love Humberto Gatica but if Recovering and TSMGO studio versions are a glimpse of whats to come, then I'm worried... Far superior are both live versions 3 Quote

Far superior are both live versions On the other hand, the songs that he worked on in EUS are beautiful: Toutes ces choses, À la plus haute branche, Ma force, Je nous veux, and Ordinaire. Hopefully, they'll be a similar quality to these. 5 Quote http://i.imgur.com/dQ1vYVz.jpgMais qui peut dire, qu’il peut vivre sans amour, qui?

ryba Posted July 10, 2017 at 09:27 PM Posted July 10, 2017 at 09:27 PM Im not that happy with Linda Perry and Eg White. Not a fan of their songs on LMBTL and TC. She should collaborate with some more current songwriters. 1 Quote

I actually never listen to it. I believe it was the first time he took the role of (co-)producer on EUS. He usually does the mixing only. EDIT: if I recall correctly he also produced Us. But before EUS, he rarely produced for Céline. Nmj Posted July 11, 2017 at 02:40 AM Posted July 11, 2017 at 02:40 AM What this new album needs no matter if ballad or uptempo, it needs a CLEAR transition of song, it needs the verses to lead to a CLEAR chorus, a CLEAR bridge, a CLEAR climax and a CLEAR end. A lot of songs on LMBTL seemed to lack that. 1 Quote

"Loved Me Back To Life" (song) still to this day sounds like a demo to me. I do enjoy the song well enough, though. 3 Quote

Her voice still sounds so crystal clear with a lot of her live performances and some of her recent recordings. I hope the new English album has Celine sounding like her Iconic Self. I agree --- I am OVER the bedrooms voice. She is far too talented for that. She got to experiment a bit with it --- now let's keep it in the past. So excited for the new English album. I feel like it could really be well-received considering all of the recent interest in Celine with the passing of Rene and her new Fashion Icon status. Hopefully they will lead with a single a couple months before the album is released. A duet with Adele or Sia would get a lot of people's attention. 4 Quote

I think it would be awesome if she recorded with Sia. Sia has that vocal power to sustain a song with Celine, and she is a woman who is over 40, getting a lot of radio attention. It would be awesome. 3 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
