But Mariahs whistle makes us want to join Whitney lol

Serious;y, first there was Whitney, then there was Mariah... and then there was Celine. Then NoBODY came after. She's just irreplaceable. And yes literally or figuratively she is above these 2 in album sales and in concert sales and in everything including singing other languages etc... LOL

CELINE DION IS THE BEST. THE ONE, THE ONLY, PERFECTION.
Posted (edited)

Neither of them came close to grabbing me like "Stripped" or "Back 2 Basics." Not even close.

I love bionic, the problem was the video and the gaga thing,

And burlesque songs are very nice too, she has sung 8 songs, nice production, nice vocals,

Maybe she should do more jazzy songs

She never had a big team around her,

But she is very talent, I'd love a duet with Celine, something like tell him

Voice (prime) WH>MC>CD

Music CD>MC>WH

Personality CD>WH>MC

Sales CD>MC>WH

I love them all. But Celine is the best  . Long live the vocal trinity.

I never understood why people compare Celine Dion with Mc and Whitney, great voices, but Celine style is so different, her voice, her look, everything

The best thing about MC, is because she writes her songs, or pay to other write in her name

Whitney was something big produced by Clive, never big in creativity when comes to name an album, her voice was sublime, but she got lost in her way

Don't want to go too OT, but I've also heard Whitney was very lazy/had a very lazy work ethic.... 🙄

Before that already

She worked her @ss off for the first 10 years of her career and was extremely professional. All that started to change around 1995 when she started to have other priorities.

The thing that really made her different from Céline was that she had no ambition. She never wanted to be as famous as she was. She felt uncomfortable with people treating her differently because she's a star and often said she had no friends (which sadly, I think was true).

Céline on the other hand seems to LOVE being famous (it's what she always wanted) and I think she has the people skills to surround herself with the right people. I wish Whitney would've had the same. She'd still be with us...

Whitney was already doing drugs during the filming of "The Bodyguard." She actually almost quit the movie.

Before that 90/91 by the time of her album I'm your baby tonight, that's the time that Clive lost control on her

That was because she thought she couldn't do it and was very insecure about her performance.

She also had a miscarriage on set, so I guess that played a role as well.

Anyway, she did crazy amounts of promo and a major tour for The Bodyguard, so she was still working a LOT.

Whitney's drug addiction began at the end of the 80s, at the peak of the "Whitney" era. She couldn't handle her fame and the marriage with

Bobby Brown did the rest.

There is a new docu about her, which claims she was gay/bi-sexual.

But yeah, she was doing drugs already at the time, I'm not denying that. In fact she was doing drugs during her modelling days, before she got famous. But it only started to really affect her work around Waiting to Exhale. She admitted on Oprah that drugs became a daily habit when she was doing The Preacher's Wife.

It shouldn't be any less, seeing how it was produced..... :giggle: :sofunny:

Doubt Céline would consider working with Kara again (at least in the studio)....lol

Yeah she was really hard in the studio but the song is spectacular !!! I prefer this over the young producer intimidated by Celine and telling her everything is perfect when its not lol

I agree!

And Kara is very strict on how you sing it, on how you pronounce it. That's the type of producers that Céline needed.

i think she needs someone who really loves her, Davis Foster beside his talent , loved her. She responds the best when she is feeling relally loved , not suckers :giggle:

I do love the album though!

I just had a listen to Surprise Surprise again on YouTube... Yea... Still hate it.

I hope Kara is not involved on this album I don't like the stuff she's done for Celine. Although I like stuff she's done for other artists and enjoyed the Platinum Weird stuff.

One Heart makes my skin crawl too.

Kara is a b i t c h. And I don't mean because she was direct with Céline or told her what to do ( there's nothing wrong with that as she had a job to do) but her attitude stank and in all the clips she seems really superior.

She managed to get some excellent vocals for Celine on that album.

I agree- and I do love surprise, surprise- especially the refrain - big vocal!
