I just heard “Soul” last night for the first time on a proper speaker system (i.e. not my phone!) and my opinion of it has totally changed. I can not understand how this wasn’t released as a single on the standard album!! Personally, it’s not my favourite, but I think it has massive appeal for contemporary radio. I thought a lot of songs on the album had that appeal, but when I heard “Soul” the rest became pale in comparison.

Seeing her live is a unique experience. Everyone that has had the pleasure will confirm that. Because she is all about connections and emotions, she will sing a set list that is very predictable. Her old hits, some covers( she loves them) and some new songs too. She sings what she believes in.If you are the type of fan that enjoys different and always changing set lists, again please rethink your choice. She is old school, she does sing with a wireless mic but she loves a corded mic, if this bothers you, well I believe you will have a problem. Our idol has just released a new album that is all about her. She bares her soul to us through her new songs. She has also discovered fashion and is very much into it. I tend to think that this new interest has helped her to get through a very hard moment in her life. So again if you believe that a singer can't have any other interests maybe this is not the place for you. This artist will cry at fashion shows and change clothes every five minutes. She was born into a very normal and quite large family. A family that gave her much love and support. She had the luck to find the man of her dreams and manager( all in one) at a very young age.Together they made history. She had ,may I say has a very special and unique love for this man. Family means everything to her, it's what drives her, it's what she is the most proud of. Her family will always come first. Because of this love she will talk about her husband, children , and family at every interview. If you are not interested in hearing about an artists personal life, again this is not the place for you. If you are bothered by so many things mentioned above, I do hope that you will find an artist that suits your needs, but please let us enjoy Celine . Let us enjoy this new moment in her life. Very well said! I agree. We are here to support Celine, whether or not we like where she is going. I personally think she’s moving on up, and I didn’t think she had anywhere else to move up to. But she keeps impressing me, and I love this new album as well! It’s perfectly her!

Super late to the game but I just watched Celine's commercial promoting shopping on Instagram? Is that what she's promoting? LOL It looked like she's trying to be in on the kitschy, campiness of the 90's = Celine...but it really seems like she's also the butt of the joke in a sense. Anywhoo, I have no idea why her manager agreed to have her promote social media shopping when she should be promoting her new album. At least she looks good and it was well produced, unlike her actual own music videos. LOL just my opinion but hey whatever gets her name to all the kids out there, they stream and her older fans don't even know what Spotify is.

So it’s pretty amazing that Instagram chose her for their first promo for their shopping feature. Facebook & Céline - who knew?

I truly think I may be just about done here. 19 years between this forum and the old CDF forum, and it just seems as if 96% of the active community has gone absolutely batshít crazy! We should be celebrating!!

 

Celine has a number 1 album in the US after 17 years. Who cares if it dropped?! It’s still a fûcking number ONE album and always will be!!!

 

“Courage” is her most coherent, fluid and honest body of work since 1996, and in some arguable instances; 1992!!

 

She’s crushing the tour circuit, despite the setlist which many of us want evolved (myself included). She beat Madonna for Christ sake!!

 

She’s keeping herself visible on social media. Her name and face are out there. When people type her name into any search, “Courage” is one of, if not THE first item to show up!!

 

All of you who dream of the success that current artists have are delusional. Even after MANY explanations of how the climate of the music industry works now, you all CHOOSE to ignore and believe that Celine is some anomaly and will break all barriers and have the sky to the limit success she had in 1998. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. GET THE FÛCK OVER IT.

 

If you love this album, sit back, pour a glass of wine and enjoy. If you don’t like it, then dust off that copy of “Falling Into You,” pour a glass of wine and enjoy that!

 

If you’re so unhappy with the current tour set, sell your damned ticket and don’t go to the concert. If you hate what’s happening, and you go to the show anyway; then you are simply SEARCHING for something to complain about. People like you tend to just like the sound of their own voice.

 

I have been a Celine fan for just about 30 years. Do I love everything she does? NOPE. She’s a HUMAN and I will never look at her as “perfect.” There is no such thing as a perfect person. I will state my opinion and move on, and I’m not going to sit here and incessantly point out her shortcomings. I have much more in my life to be happy about. As I type this message, the man of my dreams is sleeping next to me with his head on my chest. I have a beautiful home, in what I believe to be the most exciting city on the planet. I’m healthy, and I have tomorrow to look forward to. All of this as “Courage” blares in my ears and gives me a thrill for new music from my idol.

 

The nitpicking, and unrealistic expectations is at an unbelievable high in what has become this HELL HOLE of a FAN forum. Many of you need to sit back, lay down, see a therapist...WHATEVER it is that will yank your heads out of your deep àssholes. Get yourselves a reality check, and focus on what should be more important in your lives!!!!

First, she's doing promo... for something else than her album. Okay, move pass that.

Second, I was really disappointed to see Celine advertise "Instagram by Facebook". With Oscar de la Renta jewelry.

 

No one is carbon-free or good to the environement here: we use internet. BUT it is not the same thing to CHOOSE agreeing to do a commercial for one of the worst polluter and tax-avoider on this planet! Don't talk in bad faith, forum members: it is way different. She can't really change the touring or music industry -not easily at least. But she can CHOOSE not to earn her money from Facebook. She's not a "regular working class jane who needs a job to feed her family". She HAS options.

Though it's far from being as hypocritical as George Clooney advertising Nespresso....

 

I was proud of her when she talked about the "separation" in 92 (whether we agree with her or not, it was a bold statement), when she said "let them touch it for once in their life" about the New Orleans looter, and when she promoted gender-neutral parenting and clothing.

 

Fashion is far from exemplarity either. But at least L'Oréal is affordable for middle class.

I'm too lazy today to quote you sarit_celine. My comment about Javito was just a joke, I'm sometimes sarcastic but I was never intending to attack Javito in anyway. That said, I find it really sad that a troll from lambly lands comes to call Celine a flop, to say she is over, to call Courage a dull and stupid album and then see the only person liking his comments is Javito. They can blame the setlist for pages if they want to.

They can nitpick on adds if they want to.

Stop bullying people into talking only about what YOU want to read. (i say "you" cause I respond to your post, but it goes for everyone here who schools members into what they want to read).

I thought I wasn't particularly clever by just skipping the subjects, discussions, arguings that I don't care about. I already said I don't think we need a PhD to ignore some posts while letting people talking about it if they want (whether it's continously praise Celine's doings like she was a unicorn or always nitpicking on the same setlist problem which won't change a thing); but apparently, it seems like we do.

 

Stop policing people into saying what you want them to say and not allowing them to complain or praise. It's a forum, we discuss.
