"Courage" album - Official Topic

I am so glad HDAMLF is nowhere to be found. I can't believe the same guy who crafted BATB did this simple and quite booring tune. And I can't believe

Céline recorded something of this quality. Must have been for sentimental reasons and maybe a tiny bit of FOMO?

 

And the treatment TSMGO got... let's not go there...

 

I just listened to Recovering again for the first time in a long time. I'm going back through a bunch of Celine songs as I prep for the new album.

 

It's such a simple beautiful song. I loved when she included it in the Vegas setlist. How lovely that Pink was so moved by Celine losing Rene that she sent her this song? That shows a lot of class.

 

Part of me was mentally prepared for a lot of these songs -- like Recovering, How Does A Moment Last Forever, The Show Must Go On, etc. -- to be included on Celine's new album. But they have really surprised us so far!

 

Loving the titles on the track list, loving the roll out of songs, loving the music video!

Not really sure they listen to us for the tour judged by what we've seen so far though….. Or maybe that was the big surprise - there were no surprises….

I may be clueless LOL, but why does one team even bother with the regular edition album when everybody is most likely just gonna buy the deluxe... Why not just release the 20 track album as the only album?

Does anyone know whether the deluxe edition comes with anything different than the standard CD, other then the extra songs? I wonder if there will be a DVD, slight changes in musical arrangement or sound of the songs from one album vs the other?

 

I am also wondering if the pictures in the inside will be different. Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't we not seen the album photoshoot yet? My understanding is that we've only seen the cover so far and those other new pictures were taken for the program book for the Courage Tour. Right?

I’m really interested to here what “Say Yes” sounds like! I hope it’s an upbeat song because to me it sounds like it’s for a lot of great potential.

 

I am so so excited for this album because I know it’s going to be amazing!!! They’ve been working on it for so so long, so I know she’s taken her time, and every song really does fit the theme, at least by titles.

I'm literally so excited I could pee! 20 brand new songs, no Ashes, Recovering, recycled songs, COVERS, HDAMLF, just 20 brand new freaking Celine songs. That is incredible. This album is definitely special. The first English album of her entire career without Rene. I'm so incredibly anxious to hear the remaining songs, I just can't believe we're a month away from this monumental album.

Most likely there will be extra picture/s in the pages with the lyrics and/or credits of the 4 bonus tracks.

 

But it's a stupid shame they didn't offer an alternate album cover for the deluxe edition

TC album had Alone as a cover, and also Taking Chances was a cover previously released and recorded by Platinum Weird (Kara Dioguardi vocals), with the exact same instrumentation and arrangements as Celine's version.

Easily the most excited I’ve been about an English album since ANDHC.

All well and so far, but the only thing that disappoints me a little is the fact that there won’t be a dvd with the recording sessions and a documentary. I was really hoping for it. But maybe they will put some footage on YouTube. However, a proper documentary with her commentary song for song would be so epic! Also footage of recording the music videos and making of the photo shoots would be great (extended footage, please! Not just a few seconds haha).

Taking Chances, Alone, New Dawn and Right Next to the Right One are covers.

 

All 20 songs on the Courage album are apparently originals written especially for Celine and there seems to be a common theme of continuing to live after a great loss.

 

I expect a fabulous album with the quality of her best work in French.

I'm going to remember this post when the album is released and during my first listening to it. If that's true, we may have her first English studio album with a concept around it since ANDHC (17 years ago), and that will only add quality to it. I hope you're right and that all the songs blend together!

RNTTRO is also a cover. Tim Christensen recorded and released it in 2002.

So many covers I didn’t know of. I’m glad they’ve decided not to include any of the previously released songs. I already can’t wait for the re release including 3 more new songs in 2020
