Just heard back and had it confirmed that the album will not be released this year and that’s all that can be shared for now.

 

Atleast now we finally know not to expect it before Xmas.

 

Thanks for the current info, we are all so frustrated and craving new music like mad. Everything surrounding this album has changed so much with all the little bits and pieces we've been hearing for so long.

 

Well fellow fans, we all must just sit back.....and wait.....again. And take the little crumbs thrown out to us like "Recovering" and "Ashes" for now.

And it doesn't matter where that information came from, it can be anyone. And it's still a rumour.

In the past, there have been plenty of fans or fangroups that claimed to know stuff and in the end proven false (this happened more than that something was true). And we all know how fast things can change within "Céline's world". So let's just wait until we actually got some credible sources claiming stuff...

Yes so true, I've never heard of this fan group, just wondered if anyone else did or if it were credible as The Red Heads can be at times.

If Sony plans a surprise release, do you think they would tell their contacts that the album is indeed planned for this year?

I'm amazingly relaxed by this. If the album comes out in 1 or 2 years, then great. I want it out when Céline is ready. I'd hate for Céline to release the album just because her fans are going crazy waiting for it.

I am re-discovering some of her albums and songs right now and that makes me content for now

I did that after 5 years of being a fan, but I'm afraid most of the fanbase here have used up that period of rediscovering her albums since years ago (and many times too)

I’m fine with a 2019 release — Especially if she has a tour planned to promote it!

 

It’d be silly to release an album in fall then wait a year to do a tour.

 

With that said — they need to get it right. Like I’ve saud before — It should encompass songs that are meaningful to Celine and she should sound like her own powerful self. Not trying to be trendy or hip. Celine is hip by being Celine.

I for one am a bit surprised they are not building on the success of A) Ashes and two tours in the past year.

 

Only reason I can see her pushing out the album again, is because she plans on touring North America next year and she'll do a ticket bundle with the album. Which is the latest and greatest thing most artists are doing including veteran acts who can't score a hit on their own anymore.

 

If she's locked into that wretched Caesars Palace contract she couldn't do it.

 

Otherwise I got nothin. I give up. Lol.

what if she announces to have a new contract for the next five years.....please not haha. But anyway..about the new album. If it still needs to be perfected and they are still looking for good quality material I am in, but then no 10 tracks release but just like in the good old days - at least fifteen or even better - 17 or 20 tracks. And if possible - release the French tour dvd of 2017. Don’t think we will ever get the London show since the setlist is quite similar to the Tokyo show. But to have Zora Sourit and Encore un soir and many other treasures on dvd..would be beautiful.

If then the album will be released in 2019 they can pleasure us with these treasures.. ah well we can dream;)

yeah, if they released a big package with the 2016, 2017 and 2018 tours on blurays and CDs + a long documentary and a photobook and maybe a CD with studio recordings of her recent singles, I would be a very happy fan without the need for a new Englisch album and I could easily wait till 2019, no problem. But release the tours! Why is it such a big deal? They are recorded!!! Release them!!!!!

Went to see Pink concert yesterday. The fact that Pink sent her song and let Celine sing it, just validated that good artists respect each other, and she is a really good songwriter and am really glad that "Recovering" meant something special to Celine's heart !

Thank you for info! At least we now know something. If it finally will be confirmed time will show ... what I worry the most about 2019 album release is that finally it could be last part of the year .... which is so so far away ...

Still think that last year tour and this one would be a great opportunity to promote a new album. But maybe they know better

And say this is all we're getting the year she turns 50 years, and all were expecting a BIG comeback album for this birthday and all the fanfare :sofunny:

 

And all the release we got is a "tour" album that seems to be a live CD but behind it all consists of studio tracks everyone has since decades ago

 

Seriously, don't know what happened with this girl and her team.

 

I never thought I would say this, but I miss René. So much. This stupid silence would have never lasted so long with him.

We can see now the future that if céline will make a new album it will be a loooooooooooooooong wait for the exact release date/completion of the album compared before where she can just record it for 4-7 months then release it.

Maybe she has done her Asia tour, made her cash and is happy for the rest of the year and doesn’t care. Who knows...

 

But someone in her team must realise that the way her fans are treated is not ok. Give them more releses! Not necessarily a new album, but stuff that is in the archives, like all the last 3 tours.

 

Some people from Australia used twitter to make Celine aware to come and see them and guess what... she did! Why can’t we all start something on twitter or another platform to tell sony to release her tours, unreleased tracks etc while she is on break? The fans have a say and can make an impact! Remember, she dropped the blond AND DVD just because fans didn’t like the hair. Let’s do something!

The only reason I can think of for a push back is they didn't have time to finish the album due to Celine's illness last Spring. This is only guessing of course, but I think the plan was to launch this Autumn hence all the old vinyls releases, they know catalog sales increase when an artist launches a new album. I don't think it's because they are planning a major tour next year either. They could still do the ticket-album bundle even if the tour is planned for next summer (I bought my ticket for Shania last summer and I'm seeing her in October).

 

So my guess is they couldn't finish the album on time before the summer tour. Or that she needs to fulfill all dates she couldn't do in Vegas when she was sick, making the contract a bit longer and pushing the big tour back to 2020, then the album next year would make more sense.

 

Either way, now I'm afraid the songs will sound dated...
