"Courage" album - Official Topic

I would be very surprised if Celine's new album came out this year. If the rumors are true that 2019 is the final year of her Vegas residency, then I would expect them to follow the same pattern as they did with the Taking Chances album: release an album in her final few months of the residency and then embark on a US tour (which she now hasn't done in a decade) to support the album. I would love love LOVE to be proven wrong. But I am not holding out any hope for a new Celine Dion album until next year.

Suppose we don't know when this was taken, but do we think it's Vegas dressing room?

No it's from the tour :)

Must be an outdoors dressing room and the sun must be shining hard, because she's wearing a good pair of sunglasses :giggle:

yeah, and please Celine, leave that awful raspy bedroom voice at the door once and for all. We dont want it anymore! We want crystal clear, pure vocals!

I personally like when she experiments with her voice and music. If she sang the same way or same type of songs people would critique that she never tries anything new.

Besides, her voice is naturally changing (and I really love the more mature voice she has right now). I think we should be able to appreciate her voice in it's different stages, whether it's because she's playing and trying new things with it or because she's maturing.

You see, it is precisely posts like this one (and hundreds of others like it on this forum and elsewhere, so I'm not singling you out), that prove my point.

If she releases an album every 5+ years, Celine's fanbase will never forgive her for experimenting - they'll go on forever about how she's "changing her religion".

Whereas if she released more, material more often, she'd be allowed to try things without people going on for years about how "she's changed" and "they miss the old Celine". People would understand that it's just a phase and she'll move on to something else soon enough.

I, for one, am very glad she did something new with LMBTL. And I hope she once again does something different with this upcoming album, but I highly doubt it, because when you only release 2 records per decade, there's huge fear of alienating her typical fabase. Sony's counting on those sales; they won't want to rock the boat.

If she released an album a year like some others, experimentation wouldn't be an issue. She'd be allowed to try things. Sadly, that just isn't the case. Too much pressure and expectation, after those 5 years of build-up.

True all of it.

That's why someone in her team needs to spice things up.

And EP would be just the solution for these little experiments.

Jazz, bedroom voice, rnb, dance, covers.

They don't need to have her in studio for weeks, or shoot a video or photos.

Just record 4/5 songs during whenever she is in studio or live on stage put them on Spotify, social media.

Done.

Exactly.

It's not like she needs to release and promote an entire album of - say, for example - jazz standards. Do a song or two, put it out there (there are so many ways to release stuff to the masses these days), and move on. Do guest appearances on other people's records (which, by the way, works wonders in terms of introducing an act to a new audience), participate in compilations / tribute albums / soundtracks.

There are so many options that don't involve a massive studio or marketing commitment.

Oh, and for the record, I quite liked what ya'll call "bedroom voice" and would be quite happy for her to do some more tracks with that approach.

On the other hand, I hated 'A vous' and 'Tu sauras' the few other of those over-produced tracks on 'Encore un soir.'

But, and here's the key - I appreciate that some people loved it and it probably opened her up to a new audience. It was an experiment, and it's not like now that she's recorded a few songs in that style, this is all we're ever going to hear from her forevermore.

It's been capitalized many-a-time since the phrase came into use back in 1939 (and the millions of times it's been reworked since). I don't see anything special about the capitalization... (Many may think of it as a title of sorts, given its popularity, hence the usage of title case. There were even several (failed) attempts to trademark it.)

That being said, that's not a bad title!

If a message.... why "Daydream On"... what would that mean? Daydream like there wont be any album?
Peace and love to all.

Oooh it's an actual phrase. I didn't knew.

I would be great if they actually come up with an title that is not a song title

Well, the original phrase devised by the British government in 1939 was "Keep Calm and Carry On". It has since become a staple of British design and has been reused ad nauseam in every possible way - "Keep Calm and [fill-in-the-blank] On".

I'm sure you've seen it on mugs and T-shirts...

Could be. The "..." left me wondering, also that the pic has nothing to do with what she says imo whereas in past post they have been related in some way to what she's doing in the picture.

Fingers crossed it's a tease for her first single released.

It's a hidden message. Speaking to me, only..... :giggle:

Maybe TC is hearing all the crying about where the album is and that's there way to say calm down it'll get here when it gets here. Which I have to say I agree, relax people it'll be here when it's ready.

"Daydream" looks like a title of a song written by Sia.

No it's the cover of "Daydream Believer." They just couldn't fit the entire title due to the number of limited characters for Twitter. :giggle:

Well she did so. Not very often indeed.

We had Nadie lo entiende, the duet with Tony Bennett, soundtrack to mona lisa/ma nouvelle france/beauty and the beast/ashes, the Elvis live then tribute album virtual duet, Sia's my love on youtube after René's passing, Show must go on with Lindsay Stirling for BMA & digital song...

Soundtrack of Le Marsipulami - wait?! :hmm: :giggle:

Looking forward to seing more of these!

And I agree: concept EPs would just be Heaven.

Considering she was already accused to have copied the photoshoot of this very Mariah album for "Taking Chances."

OMG, that 2007 TC album cover "scandal" was so embarrassing for Celine. I hope they learned from that.
