OMG, that 2007 TC album cover "scandal" was so embarrassing for Celine. I hope they learned from that.

I saw somewhere (can't find it now) that MC also posed like Céline in some photos.

Céline got the fierce look and better actually. And by these comparison... It’s the Lambs who did this comparison. You know they love to compare other artists with their idol.

that ( and make such a comparaison... I've never thought of by the way) really believe in it?

I mean striking the pose in front of a white wall is probably the first thing that was ever done upon photography discovery.

That's the cheapest and most uncreative staging ever.

So my ID picture is a copy of Maria's daydream photo shoot? 😅😅

At least, the purpose of Céline's was her look, whether we like it or not. But Mariah?

 

Sometimes I wish freedom of speech would be restrained when we read such things.

They see every opportunity to make fun or criticize Céline. They probably make fun of how Céline breathes.

 

So their opinion matters nothing to me. I usually block all MC fans on Social media. They are so obnoxious and probably because they are jealous of Céline.

Mariah copied Celine's D'elles album shoot from 2007 in 2008.

And it's not like Sony/Céline's team hadn't a huge bunch of AMAZING pictures to choose from for the album cover, one being greater than the next!!!

 

Why are you blaming Mariah's fans? Céline's team had dozens and dozens of different pictures with different poses and way better than the final album cover, and they STILL risked and went for the copycat mode, as usually! Instead of blaming Mariah's fans we should blame Céline and Céline's stupid team guys, they have all the tools before their eyes to make GREAT things and still they act like silly copycats most of the times with their nonsensical and unoriginal decisions, copying existent artworks, covering songs from other singers on a constant basis, and Céline even imitating the voice of other singers to sound "cool" and modern...

I wish there was a behind the scenes video for that shoot. I would like to see how they attach the big hair and how she looks there in live as opposed to the photoshopped pics

I must say that this shoot is way too serious and even mysterious.

 

I like when she smiles, like for the EUS shoot. Hovever, I wish they would have photoshopped the EUS pics better, because her jaw is so dominant there. It really looks weird. The LMBTL pictures are perfect, yes they are flawless.

 

But my all time favourite album covers and artworks are definitely ANDHC and OH! Best ever! Not n a studio, but a real scenery.

Normally I don't care about them either. But that time they were right. Because Celine's team not only choosed the worst picture for the cover, it also lacked creativity.

But on the other hand the D'elles shoot was amazing (as always in her French discography).

And that’s a fine assessment. I agree that the cover photo was not the best. I’ve said that from the time the album was released. But saying that it was a deliberate copy of Mariah? No.

That crazy over-the-top hair is part of the concept of the photoshoot! That's the key in this photoshoot, that they had "something" to show with this fierce look and Céline's attitude and the different poses in the pictures. Unlike the silly stupid Alix Malka photoshoots, who each and every smiling face is identical in every single picture...

They don't stop to think if something is creative enough to release it or on the contrary, if there are better options instead. They don't stop a minute to think if a set of songs is good enough to form a tracklist for an album, or if they can do better. These days is just this attitude of let's throw it all in the blender, press the button, and "let's see how it goes"

 

At least when they wanted "The Woman In Me" as the album title they soon realised that was one of Shania Twain's albums and rectified. But that rarely happens, when they want something, nothing stops them, for good or bad (singles choices, release dates, cancelling videoclips and projects)

Yeah, me too. I do like that they cropped the picture for the cover though. I don't love the full body shot as much. I do love all the outtakes with the big hair though. That particular photo shoot has so many pictures I wonder why they chose the most boring ones. Like my avatar, I wish that picture was used for something.

 

Also, what were they thinking with the colors of the cover? it's not black and white, but it might as well be because they chose the bleakest grayest colors ever. I don't like that Celine looks so white and pale and everything else is grayish. She's got a nice hair color though, so at least there's that.

Nah, I don't think that's the case at all. Her name's on it and she has the final say. If she doesn't like something, she doesn't release it (see: EUS music video).

I hope this album feels right for this moment in Celine's career.

 

I felt that way with Sans Attendre and Encore un Soir --- but I did not feel that way with Loved Me Back To Life.

 

I honestly feel like her English discography has been lacking since A New Day Has Come. That was the last Celine English record that felt like CELINE and it just felt right and made sense.

 

I like many tracks on Taking Chances and Loved Me Back To Life --- but those albums just didn't feel like the monumental Celine Dion albums I'm used to.

 

I feel like they can really get it right with this new English record. Just choose meaningful songs. Have Celine sound like CELINE -- and not trying to sound like anyone else. Make it personal and meaningful and beautiful and that's all we need.

We don't know what really were the reasons for the unreleased EUS video. We don't know if Céline didn't like it or not and if that was the reason for not releasing it.

It's time to focus on the brand-new English album. Great songs with great music videos is what I expect. A duet with another major artist and NO covers would be fabulous.

I hope we'll get real news soon like the album's release date or the premiere of the music video.

When it comes to a duet, I must say that 3 years ago, a bombastic, good duet with Adele or Sia would have been cool, (sth. a la chandelier) but now I don't really care anymore, since the hype around them decreased. Now it wouldn't be anything special anymore. They always have the worst timing ever... Moreover, when she did a duet with Neyo everyone went crazy and then it turned out that they recorded the most mediocre, boring song ever and the fact that Neyo was on it didn't help. She needs better songs... Right now I prefer a normal Celine album like ANDHC with no duets, just magical, inspirational songs. Nothing forced to sound like someone that is currently hip. With ANDHC she had her own unique lane that was just amazing. (IA, ANDHC, IS, RIFOY were true gems on the album).
