I was just looking for tour videos of Celine on YouTube and I made a discovery...

 

How did I miss this recording session of RECOVERING?! Have never seen it before. Makes me wonder what other hidden Celine gems are out there waiting for me to discover them....!

Yeah I love this too. Loved hearing the demo with Pink at the beginning. Anyone who thinks this song is boring etc needs to watch this. Or remind themselves of this. Wasn’t this the day after she’d visited Rene’s grave? Think she said that at the end of the recording, must’ve been a different video to this though. So glad Michel was there with her that day too.

I LOVED Jem and the Holograms!!I I remember it being on here on Saturday mornings and immediately after it finished, I HAD to call my friend and we discussed what happened in the episode haha..

Seeing this dance album that many of us Céline fans keep waiting and dreaming about sorely hurts An unexplored territory for Céline that she could easily dominate with her vocals, but unfortunately she's so stuck with the 90s and what she did back then to move on and try new things

This was a very last minute decision. Love Cher, but had she not been in “Mamma Mia 2,” then this album would have never happened, and we’d still be waiting for her next.

Everyone is stealing her ideas dear (if she has any, which creatively I doubt she has any at all at this point of the story sorry). They also stole her the Maria Callas role... Obviously she kept saying she wanted that project for 15 frigging years but never made her mind up so someone had to do it eventually! :doh:

 

Céline, you can keep touring and performing on Vegas ad nauseam always & forever the same 90s songs of the golden days... No worries, what you won't sing, the projects you won't take, others will

 

But for her French career, and from a creative and evolving point of view, sometimes I think her career just stopped in 2008 and now she's living only at the expense and thanks to what she did right until 2008

Nope she's not idle at all, but she doesn't come with anything new to her career either. The only chances are when she records new music and when this happens (more few and far in between each time) then she mistreats them not releasing videos, cancelling them or nor promoting the songs etc.

 

If her shows were brand new each time, with updated concepts and seltlists, I'd give her credit for that. But sadly it's NOT the case...

 

Guess seeing Cher's new album has touched a nerve in me with a little jealousy, but seriously, when's Céline gonna wake up from her creative stagnation and realise that she's wasting her voice and talent without offering anything new all these years???

I didn't say I'm jealous because of the covers concept, I'm jealous because of the dance music style, which is way different. I love and hate equally that Céline hasn't done this because it's again a Cher DANCE album, something tons of fans in this forum (and outside surely) have been wishing and asking for since ages ago

 

And regarding covers, I'd rather have a full covers album -which eventually is a "concept album" like Cher's ABBA album, than Céline's LMBTL album which tried to be cool and modern and new and at the same time it killed it all with the nonsensical inclusion of that stupid array of Vegas covers in it

 

If Céline wants to go with covers, go all the way with it: I don't mind a full covers album if she liked that idea at some point (jazz album for example). But don't inundate a brand new album after 5 years waiting (talking about the LMBTL album) with an explosion of random covers that were not even new, because she had been performing them in Vegas years before the release of the album And besides not being new to the public, they were far from great, not even good (Overjoyed :sick: )

Not sure everyone who went to Vegas or her tours in 2016/7/8 would agree with you on her “wasting her voice or talent “ Or anyone who bought EUS. Yes the mv didn’t happen, but the album still did amazingly well.

 

Feel like we go round in circles on here at times. Same old discussions. If it wasn’t for the tour happening right now I wouldn’t be on here.

The critics and reviews are not commenting on her lack of new material and the evolution of her career in the last decade because first she's an overlooked artist, and then they're only seeing her legend status all the time, and also because she has had much on her plate with the passing of René and then taking care of two little children. But if she keeps only performing and focused only on live shows and she doesn't release new music soon to bring the attention on, that time when they start wondering what's new with her and how long it's been without seeing anything new on her career and the progress of her career in the last decade, that time will surely come. Definitely!

I knew I should have specified, marked and emphasised on the DANCE music style and not the covers

 

And I don't know if she was offered the role. All I know is that she says hundreds of times that she wants to do this and that, cinema, acting, albums in other music styles and other languages, and then 10 years have passed and she hasn't done anything. Why insisting so much and then doing the same all the time (or not doing anything at all in this case)?

 

From the other side of things: did Cher tease her fans for a decade with wanting to do a Spanish album? Or a Jazz album? NO Cher says it would be a good idea to record an ABBA covers album once and she does it. Right away. Céline flirts with the idea of making cinema or recording certain albums as a personal wish, almost an obsession for years told in dozens of interviews, and 15 years pass and she has done neither of them Nada. Just words in the air in the end.

 

And her voice keeps changing and maturing tour after tour. That's why I said she's wasting her voice and talent always doing the same exact thing (because she's always singing the same damn songs).

 

No offence here, I know it's harsh to say like this, but I think this is what it is and it's what has happened with Céline in the last 10 years.
