Javito Posted August 21, 2018 at 09:06 AM Posted August 21, 2018 at 09:06 AM Tell that to her producers. It started in LMBTL album. LMBTL is like OH part 2 but in OH album her voice sounds more natural and her voice blends with the music unlike LMBTL album where we can hear so much autotune, dry and forward vocals I don't see any similarities between OH and LMBTL (fortunately!). OH has some great pop song with witty lyrics, LMBTL the only witty lyrics it has are thanks to the bunch of covers she recorded, but that wasn't even a good decision for the album. And OH has only one cover, LMBTL has five. 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Ten Days (English cover of a French song)At LastThe Greatest Reward (English cover of a French song)Nature Boy I don’t see the big deal about her doing covers. Especially if they’re not well known songs, if known at all. I had no idea until maybe 2002 that FIY was a cover. I do not believe that LMBTL is a bad album so to speak. The concept got lost in the shuffle of what Sony wanted, but the songs are not bad songs. LMBTL is gorgeous and modern, but doesn’t stray too far away from what Celine is. SLS is fun and her vocal is awesome here. I never skip it. “Incredible” is a good duet. Radio friendly and I wish they had been able to do more with it. I loved watching Celine perform it with Ne-yo. I’m a big fan of his and enjoyed both of the tracks he wrote for her. SYS is funky and different for her. A cool jam. “Breakaway” in my opinion, has a timeless sound to it. WAAF she nailed. That bridge is everything. DKL is classic Celine. Beautifully written lyrics, the composition is gorgeous. And it was very well produced. This song gets me choked up. “Thank You” makes me feel nostalgic and emotional. “Thankful” is just breathtaking, and I hope Dana Parish gets more songs on the new album. ABYG is vocally beautiful. I can’t relate to the lyrical content, though it is a nice song. “Unfinished Songs” I have loved since I heard the snippet in the movie trailer. And the remix for the album is awesome. “Overjoyed” - Misplaced? Sure. Do I enjoy listening to it? Yes. Although, if this track had to be a cover, I’d have preferred “Open Arms” to be in its place. “At Seventeen” - I love Babyface’s production on it. It’s subtley modern, without taking away from the classic sound of this song. I think it fits quite nicely on LMBTL as a subdued track. Ten Days (English cover of a French song)At LastThe Greatest Reward (English cover of a French song)Nature Boy I can't consider Ten Days and The Greatest Reward as such "covers" per se, but this is a personal opinion: when someone adapts the lyrics of a song in one language into another language, they are already creating a new song, and even the result can be a totally different song because most of times lyrics can't be literally translated, and that's what happened with Tomber and (TGR in a minor way): these have little to do with the lyrics of the original songs in French. They transformed the lyrics and made two completely different songs out of them, how could we consider them "covers" as At Last or Nature Boy here? It's very different. Also Aun existe amor would have to be another cover, but the lyrics have not much to do with the original French song. She made a completely brand new song with it, because even the arrangements are very different and not present in the original version (the guitars and the Latin/Spanish touch). It's very a rather different case than naming real covers of her repertoire like TPOL, At Seventeen or Alone. Edited August 21, 2018 at 08:45 PM by Javito 2 Quote "Hush, now... Popular Post smw Posted August 22, 2018 at 09:37 AM Popular Post Posted August 22, 2018 at 09:37 AM (edited) Just getting some random thoughts out... I was watching several Aretha videos online (so Sad she’s gone) — and I watched Carole King getting honored at the Kennedy Center when Aretha sang Natural Woman for her. It’s truly magnificent. It got me thinking about Celine’s artistry. I so often get caught up in Celine’s iconic vocals and powerhouse performances — and I often hear how Mariah writes her own songs so she’s a REAL artist — but Celine’s got some real artistry too. Her soul is made of love and music. Her favorite moments onstage are clearly when she can just let loose and jive and become one with the music. Her interpretations and powerful, soulful deliveries are the same sort of artistry that Whitney Houston possessed. (I Surrender, etc) I think Celine loves to resurrect The Reason so often because she felt a real moment in time occur with Sir George Martin and Carole King. That wasn’t just another song. It was a song that felt like hers and clearly means a lot to her. It’s directly connected to her true artistry. Her recordings with JJG are also part of her unparalleled bilingual career legacy. As Celine herself has stated — D’eux IS her legacy as an artist. I just think Celine rarely gets the credit she deserves. She has real soul in her performances. I’m very thankful for artists who have understood Celine’s credibility over the years — like the BeeGees and Carole King and Sir George Martin and Barbra Streisand. And I’m thankful for younger artists who have great admiration for Celine — like Demi, Ariana, and Adele. But folks need to r e s p e c t Celine’s artistry and not just her vocals. It was fun to scroll the comments on the video of her helping Aretha “lift” the song at the end of Divas Live. So many comments stating how this was the moment for them when Celine became one of the greats. Ken Erlich is certainly part of Celine’s legacy. Time really is passing. Rene is gone. Aretha is gone. These incredible moments that many of us lived through are now a part of history. Edited August 22, 2018 at 09:55 AM by smw 14 Quote

neocshs Posted August 22, 2018 at 12:44 PM Posted August 22, 2018 at 12:44 PM I think LMBTL is one of my least favourite albums among each one.. The title track is somewhat repetitive and over-produced: too much noise, too many layers! It is actually a better stage song than it is as a studio one, at least with that production and mixing. SLS is lame and an ugly copy of TTWIS.. It's not dancy, nor radio friendlyBreakaway is just loads of lyric clishes and her vocals could be great, but again same old style to sing a power house songSYS is fresh and doesn't sound like she's taking it too seriously, so I really like it, definitely one of my favesOverjoyed is just magical and very well put together! At seventeen is nice, but I would have put it as an extra track.. Incredible, nice and dancy yet underwhelming! The expectations were way higher than what had turned out to be :/DKL is one of my very favourite songs! Classic celine but not straight from the 90s.. It sounds modern! WAAF is a great song, and I like céline's touch on it. Great vocals and modern sound! Thank you is a nice track, but nothing remarkableABYG and Thankful are terribly boring and cheesy.. Unfinished songs is nice but it never clicked, although it's got great potential! Open arms, please somebody kill whoever produced that track! It is un-listenable! Again, better live than in studio! Btw, this album was not put well together and doesn't have any consistency.. There were nice tracks, but that's it! One heart is definitely more coherent, Taking Chances is just on another level.. I wish we could have something as fresh as ANDHC but with better songs, able to survive the test of time. 1 Quote http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs638.snc4/59806_1286422260657_1833187247_552295_3401062_n.jpg http://www.celinedionitalia.com/banner.png VISITATECI Facebook - Claudio Liggi Youtube - neocshsYoutube - CelineDionItalia93CelineChannelForum - My works about célineCelineChannelForum - neocshs's covers CelineDionMultimedia - my blog
