Oh lord that's a while ago.
Don't know if I can find it.

But all the 3 things. She said herself.

She want to do a show with just 2 instruments and her voice.
She want to do a show with her own songs that she never performed.
And she want to do a show with all songs from other artists.

She said something in an interview when she was in London in 2013 doing promo for LMBTL that she would love to do some acoustic shows. Can't remember who the interview was with though.

When did she say that and by that what did she mean? HER songs? Her NEW songs? Songs by others..?

Have you any plans to do a live tour with this new album? [Loved Me Back To Life]

I would love to tour with this album but no plans have been made yet. If I do it will be a worldwide tour but not in one stretch. I would like to spend a month somewhere like the UK doing an unplugged, stripped back show and then repeating that in other countries.

But I’m looking out a window right now and (I’m looking at) a little pond, my kids playing and chasing frogs, and I see probably 15 different kinds of trees. I could have my band and we could sit on apple boxes and sing acoustic songs, with a little fire and marshmallows, and we could sing ‘till the end of the night, till the fireflies come out.’ ”

I think it became clear Céline's only priority in her career is to keep performing and doing shows as many as she can, in marathonian mode, like this new 2018 tour, for third year on a row confirms, and be featured in the World's Guiness Book as the singer with more concerts on her back...

It frustrates me, and I guess a few other fans here.

That what she is telling here, is exactly what a lot of us want from her.

But I hate that she is telling this for the last +/- 15 years, and not a single thing has changed.

She even has producers who want to do a special album with her.

I would LOVE an classical orchestra album.

I bet there really is someone out there who wants to make Drop By Drop with her the way she visions it.

She really has nothing to prove, not to the world, or us. So do all this what you talk about in For Keeps!

Thank you for sharing! Oh God yes! Please Céline do all that what are you waiting for?!?! To know that that is what she wants to do (and my biggest wish is for her to do personally too, coz for a long time I've felt she's "on hold" artistically for some reason which I thought she had no ambitions to do otherwise - but she appearently does!!! So go on!) it is so frustrating to hear her release tons of tons of mediocre album filler tracks like Unfinished Songs and just a few here and there good quality songs....

And it also makes me wonder even more what the **** happened to the studio version of TSMGO. Her live versions are so fine and some extremely haunting (in a good way) with very nice arrangements. When we were getting a studio track I thought thank God to have that captured on a studio track. But instead we got a flat arrangement, extremely booring with all the fine detailes from the live versions stripped off to what more reminds me of a cheap karaoke track. And her voice isn't soulful to say the least (which she can have tons of in some live versions). The track just feels rushed throuh to "get it over and done with" and resembles more a demo track. When I first heard the studio track I played it over and over coz I couldn't believe what I was hearing: "After all that wonderful potential of the live versions is this really it??" And I still question that. The studio version made me dislike her doing that song...

And don't get started with "are you really a fan??" Yes I am. I am.

Yep,no comment.... I just have to shake my head when she says things like this and doesn't make changes. For example wanting to add Mislead or TYLAM and nixing them before they have a chance.

I think we might need to be careful about holding her to things she said in a book more than ten years ago. Her personal life especially has moved on a lot since then and things change. For her to find the time, energy and drive to deliver all that now would seem unlikely.

And she has delivered smaller versions of some of the things she said here too. She has sung Queen songs, done acoustic sections in shows, sung some 80's rock and jazz. She just hasn't done whole albums of shows of these things.

It's not holding her to things she said 10 years ago in a book.

She has said a lot of these things the last years, not that detailed though, but the dreams are still the same.

Hope that if Jenna gets to make another book with her,she asks her about this :wub:

And if there is time to design a bag collection, there would be time for one of these dreams... ;-)

Good gracious! I had to shake my head when reading that page from For Keeps! Thanks for posting. I had almost forgotten about all that. Geez, it even hurts to see what she said 13 years ago and yet 13 frigging years later NOTHING of that has come to reality :down: :down: :down: Not any movie, nor the jazz, unplugged and crossed mixed styles, album nor the Spanish-language album, not a song written and recorded by her... nothing!

See where my hatred and frustration against Vegas comes from? You got all the answers in the chapter of that book. Vegas is the answer to why she hasn't done anything of those plans and dreams and projects. Maybe not in a direct way but either indirectly or just ultimately, because her show schedule interferred with the timing to do other plans, Vegas was the obstacle in between. Her commitments with that residency is what always put her off from doing any other projects or eventually cancelling them.

There's where she says she wants to record a full Spanish album too :down:

I insist she just got so comfortable and settled with Caesars Palace. But what I fear the most now is that she no longer has those dreams and projects inside her. It's been ages since she doesn't talk about any of these anymore :confused1: :down:

And what we got instead, 13 years later since that interview? 1,200 clone shows one an exact copie of the other year after year, and ocassionally, a studio album that goes almost unnoticed every 5 years now...

The only thing that has thrown some brightness to this is -thankfully- her French albums, but besides that... it's so shameful to read that page of the book and see that nothing of what she wanted to do has been done... 13 years later :wacko:

Now I ask... 15 years of Vegas... Isn't that enough already? Hasn't it drained away enough of her ambitions and projects already? She needs to put an end to it, before it definitely buries her and all her passions and the voice she has left.

We’re way off topic...

But what she was dreaming of 13 years ago, can change.

And also, I don’t think it’s Vegas to blame, but her decisions she took years ago with René.

She decided to fulfill her most desired wish, which is being a mother, and because of the kids, having a more regular based life. Vegas fitted in that, because she also still wanted to sing, as she is a podium beast. She knew she couldn’t live without being on stage.

But now everything fits in, the boys getting older and easier to travel with, and maybe, this will be the beginning of a new touring era.

Although I doubt that, because if I was a kid, I’d not like my mom to be away for long times. Or that I should fly to different countries to see my mom. I’d wish my mom to be at home when I’d come home from school.

Of course, I completely agree (though I don't think everyone on here would, hence my post).

I think her voice was too 'perfect' to pull off a jazz album before. Technically, her best years may be behind her now, but as a performer, she's never moved me as much as she has in the last couple of years (La Vie en Rose, Avec Le Temps, the 2016-tour...even Recovering, which on paper is such a bland song). For her to record a jazz album now would be a dream...as long as they don't overpolish the vocals...Or maybe a live jazz show would be even better. Wishful thinking, I know...

Exactly...and if I had experienced a long cancer battle with my husband and lost him...lost my brother...perhaps my life's goals and dreams would change and become more focused on family and other things as well. Some life experiences truly have a way of shaking us up and changing life's plans. Doesn't make it right or wrong...life just happens and we have to make day to day decisions on what is right and best for us, for our family, at that very moment. It doesn't mean we will regret not accomplishing past year's dreams and goals because I think our dreams and goals can easily change based on life circumstances.

Some life experiences truly have a way of shaking us up and changing life's plans. Doesn't make it right or wrong...life just happens and we have to make day to day decisions on what is right and best for us, for our family, at that very moment. It doesn't mean we will regret not accomplishing past year's dreams and goals because I think our dreams and goals can easily change based on life circumstances.

Precisely, I doubt she envisaged being a single parent with a teenager and seven year old twin sons 13 years ago. But that is her life and priority now.
