No French (nor English) song should be recorded in English (or the way around). That destroys the magic and the power of the song.
My opinion.

JTE And Hymn are gorgeous in both languages.

I'm just confused as to why they wouldn't focus on the release of the album PRIOR to the tour. They've been instagramming about it...now they've stopped and no word. Confusing.

Well they may do! Tour doesn’t start until June lol. Priority right now is to publicise the tour, when tickets are on sale etc. We may hear something soon, don’t worry too much 😀

It's confusing because in general, teasing like this would usually come closer to the release date. Nothing has been mentioned. They've been teasing and then all of a sudden stop and then announce a tour.

In the french speaking countries, it's nowadays the other way around. A lot of artists unleash tour dates before the release of the album.

It allows them to sell more tickets for the next tour if the previous album was successfull. I think it's a good strategy, because in France, success is not steady from an album to another.

And well, it's not a tour announce out of the blue: rumours have been around since months. And Céline said years ago that she would do mini-tour each year...

No, I just meant the studio pics and teasing for the album stopped so abruptly. Not that the tour announcement was out of the blue. It was just odd how sharp their focus took a turn from one thing to the other.

I love most of her English songs turned from French: Have A Heart, I Don't Know, If That's What It Takes and Je T'Aime Encore (or was it the other way around)?

I love Have a Heart, but it was originally an english song... the rest are just bland in english (same goes to the spanish translations)

It's confusing because in general, teasing like this would usually come closer to the release date. Nothing has been mentioned. They've been teasing and then all of a sudden stop and then announce a tour.

Finally a critical post of yours which I agree to.

Answer is because there's no common sense in what she does today for her career, no planning, no agenda. And don't look for it in the future: since she "doesn't have to prove anything", it looks she's going to apply that mantra of her to everything, and I'm afraid this is how things will develop in the future. Everything revolves around her performing priorities doing shows wherever she feels to, but nothing is assured when it comes to the evolution of her music or getting new recordings. A new album can be done within months, or take 5 years now. There's no hurry for that... That's the way it is today!

(And besides she's "managerless". I don't know what's worse lol)

I love this song. The words are written for her (at least, that’s how I feel it). And French is her first language, so this song, is best sung in French.

It's so easy to criticize about timing when you don't know anything of what's going on behind curtains. Maybe she's not getting anything good or that she likes...but that would point to another subject to talk her down as well ( the fact she doesn't write her songs...).

But it's quite unfair to highlight "only 2 english albums in 10 years" ...just like she didn't do anything else beside. In 10 years, we also had 3 french albums. Isn't it creating music as well?

Whatever the language is, her last recording album was released not even 2 years ago. And we got 3 english singles in that timeframe too...

So there's absolutely no need no reason no objectivity no real facts to bash her when it comes to new music not being her priority, whether you like those songs or not.

16 new songs + 1 cover single in less than 24 months, loads of fans would die for that productivity from their fav artist.

It might seem long because she's not all over the place.

Bruno Mars released his last album in 2016 with only 9 tracks and nothing since then. But his songs are hits played on radio for months....

That would be incredible! It would be awesome if somehow an Adele duet was kept completely under wraps - no leaks...nobody knew about it until the album's release day. The world would be in for QUITE a surprise and no doubt it would be chart topping. Yes...I'm dreaming too. :giggle: :wub:

Answer is because there's no common sense in what she does today for her career, no planning, no agenda. And don't look for it in the future: since she "doesn't have to prove anything", it looks she's going to apply that mantra of her to everything, and I'm afraid this is how things will develop in the future. Everything revolves around her performing priorities doing shows wherever she feels to, but nothing is assured when it comes to the evolution of her music or getting new recordings. A new album can be done within months, or take 5 years now. There's no hurry for that... That's the way it is today!

Maybe it's finally time for you to give up on Celine. You are so unhappy about everything she does and clearly have bleak expectations for the future. You are looking for something that existed 20 years ago but is now long over. Celine will do what she wants when she wants as you say, but she has earned the right to do that more than anyone else.

I've gathered that. It must just be hard to always be so disappointed. I'm sure there are other artists out there at the early stages of their careers who are everything he's looking for. Celine doesn't seem to be that person though.
