I don't want to open a can of worms with this, but acting for a play reciting a text for 2 hours certainly can't be the same as singing 10-15 songs which the majority of them must be engraved on your skin for the thousands (literally) of times you have sang them for 20 years...

 

Céline must be able to perform most of the songs she keeps singing today even in her sleep.

i really think that Celine is giving everything every night.... we can critisize on other subjects, but i'm pretty sure about this.

I know you have the need to discredit Celine for not writing her own songs on every opportunity, that doesn’t take away the fact she has released more studio albums that her peers in the 00s and also in the 90s, so your continuous claim that she doesn't care about recording albums doesn't hold. Btw I would like to know on those songs where Mariah Carey and Madonna appear as cowriters with a bunch of other people how much did they actually wrote, probably much less you may think

The fact that Mariah and Madonna (M&M lol) write and produce songs doesn't mean they do on ALL their songs.

Most of their big hits were co-written and co-produced (and we know what that really means).

 

And Céline sings in her sleep now. So easy and so not demanding doing shows and dealing with the public and your team... It's all automatic and doesn't require any energy whatsoever. If that's the case, I wonder why there aren't more singers who perform as much as Céline does. Can't wait for the easy album to be completed. It's so simple why can't they just do it in a few days... Nobody here questions how lucky Celine is. Not many artist are able to achieve what she has got in terms of money, fame, recognition and doing what she loves. She is privileged of course.

 

But just to put things in perspective, Celine has released a new studio album on average every 1.7 years in the last 15 years (during the same period Mariah Carey has released a new studio album every 2.5 years and Madonna every 3 years). All this while performing live nonstop. So when some people here say that Celine doesn’t care about her recording career or that she has stopped recording because she only cares for concerts I understand other more rational people have the need to come and say that Celine is probably the hardest working person in the industry and that we are very lucky as fans. And it doesn’t mean that people are blind or idiots, probably all the opposite, maybe they are just being reasonable and fair.

Hunty, the decade IS ABOUT TO END and Céline only gave us 1 english album in 8 years, and it is till date her biggest flop...Both Madonna and Mariah have released more albums than her...the 2010s decade without a doubt is Céline's worst decade when it comes to commercial success since we're 2 years from the next decade and she ain't got a single certification in the biggest musical market, not even 1

I don't discredit her for that, I just say that the example of artists you came to put is unfortunate, it just can't be valid because they have totally different careers and workloads. You said Céline has released one album every 1/2 years and compared her with Mariah and Madonna, and I said these take more time because they are on charge of doing every song from scratch. Celine has only cared to put the vocals, most of the times within weeks for each album, and that's all she had to care about the creation of each album. It's pretty different.

 

And I'm sure Mariah and Madonna would have released more albums if they have had a manager or a bunch of people looking out for songs and writers and producers like Céline has had. It can't be very complicated when you're given the songs and you just have to say if you like them and then just record the voice. But both Mariah and Madonna create their albums from zero, writing the lyrics and the music and arranging and producing. That justifies the reason why they haven't released as many albums as Céline.

 

I admire and love Celine for many reasons, but not writing her own stuff is not one of the reasons why I would dislike her, not at all

If you want to compare the number of albums between artists, released within a certain period of time, one should include all albums released during that timeframe. Celine's English recordings would have increased over the past few years if she wasn't also releasing material in French. You can't expect her to release as many English albums as someone who only has English only releases.

I don't know if it was a cover of that song specifically but she kept singing it . She kept singing 'feels like Kevin' during the medley part when she was picking on Kaven. So I asked could that be a hint to a song she's recording. I've never heard her sing that tune before so I thought it could be a hint maybe???? Grasping at straws, lol!

People should be a bit more informed before posting nonsense. LMBTL has sold more than Rebel Heart and more than Mariah Carey two latest albums together. LMBTL was certified platinum in UK, 2xplatinum in France and 4xplatinum in Canada, and gold in a few other markets. LMBTL single was also her highest entry in UK since ANDHC era. If you compare commercial success Celine has been way more successful in the 2010s than any of her peers. And yes I include her French albums as new material, because that's what they are. And despite of being nonexistent to the GP they managed to sell also more.
