browseceline Posted January 8, 2018 at 07:46 PM Posted January 8, 2018 at 07:46 PM Of course, I completely agree (though I don't think everyone on here would, hence my post). I think her voice was too 'perfect' to pull off a jazz album before. Technically, her best years may be behind her now, but as a performer, she's never moved me as much as she has in the last couple of years (La Vie en Rose, Avec Le Temps, the 2016-tour...even Recovering, which on paper is such a bland song). For her to record a jazz album now would be a dream...as long as they don't overpolish the vocals...Or maybe a live jazz show would be even better. Wishful thinking, I know...I am sure you like her singing jazz and if she wants to she can of course. But i think the best would be to give us great quallity ballads, powerballads and 90s style uptempo popsongs. That is where her strength is and where she is known for. She could release anything if she wants to but i don't see it getting high in the charts. But she has nothing to loose, so if she really wants to.. Popular Post Javito Posted January 8, 2018 at 08:43 PM Popular Post Posted January 8, 2018 at 08:43 PM In I want an album with Folk songs from the southeast of the Falkland Islands. That will NEVER happen.Maybe for a single reason: Because Celine Dion has her own style. And because she's is not a radio that you can program.Celine will - always and always - do it right again. LG Stefan I'd love her to do an English version of the "1 fille & 4 types" album. Take the best 4 songwriters she can find now and give it a folky sound, and we'll get another great (and different) album with the quality flavour of her French works 14 Quote "Hush, now... isurrender Posted January 9, 2018 at 12:24 PM Posted January 9, 2018 at 12:24 PM Her version is not jazz in its true sense no you are so right about that. But it's an old school track. And she takes it on superbly. Does it true justice.... Wish I could say the same thing about HDYKTMP.... the live version is very fine but the studio turned into something horrible compared to the live version. So sad they went kinda R&B with that. It doesn't do her nor the song justice.... It's strange how a song sung very well live can loose its soul so much when she records it as a single. Same goes for TSMGO as I mentioned and also with Ne Me Quitte Pas - although not as much as HDYKTMP or TSMGO. NMQP is still enjoyable in its studio version but 80 % of its soul got lost in the studio for some odd reason. The live verson is sooooo sooo good! What a shame we didn't get a live recording of it instead.... HDYKTMP, TSMGO, NMQP all got bad in the studio version. Even Open Arms lost a lot of it's bombasticness, power and clearity - even though I must say I kind of think the Coldplay-ish take on the studio version is quite refreshing. But the way it ends so quickly makes it sound a bit rushed through. I used to love Céline recording covers, they had so much soul and often another level than her "original tracks". You could feel she felt the songs and had a history with them. But lately her covers (mostly studio) have become extremely flat. They feel as if she just wants them over and done with. What's the deal with that? Tired of the song after done it live for a while? Needing better production? Now I no longer want her to record covers since these past years (with At Seventeen as an exception - what an amazing recording, here the soul is back, this song is truly felt!) the covers all made me disapointed compared to what is performed live and thereby know what she is capable of dilevering. Well, you answer yourself your question : you feel those studio covers are worse because we are used to hear them live before. Plus, HDYKTMP , NMP, OP didn't make the standard album tracklist for a good reason...While I wish she never recorded them, Sony has sometimes common sense. These are "bonus tracks" , they stand as "bonus", they are not meant to be album quality. To me, it makes sense.Of course, there are exceptions. Just like every discography. And between leftovers, b-sides, bonus tracks , there might be gems ( hi 'map to my heart'! ).But you shouldn't expect anything from them to begin with. 1 Quote

Absolutely right.1 fille & 4 types was awesome - the 2nd half. 'Des milliers de baisers' was one of my favorite ever songs. The concept was really special. Which composers would that be? I say: Tom Odell and again Tom Odell, Fred Pellerin ('L'hymne' is a song from another star) and... oh s***, I do not know any four brilliant composers. Does anyone know Jillian Edwards? I think she's great. Whatever style. Celine still needs courage for powerful tones. THIS is her master handwriting. LG Stefan 2 Quote

I can never get enough of its unique, acoustic and folky sound Wish her English career had at least one album like this, but she's lacking it so far. Peppercorn1991 Posted January 10, 2018 at 10:14 AM Posted January 10, 2018 at 10:14 AM Here’s a rough google translation: Enthusiastic for Céline's next albumCeline Dion's new English opus promises, according to Stephan Moccio Enthusiastic for Céline's next album In a studio with Céline Dion in Las Vegas in December, Stephan Moccio is enthusiastic about the Quebec artist's next album in English. "Her voice has never been so beautiful," says the Canadian composer and director in the Journal.Celine Dion has confirmed her reunion with Stephan Moccio by posting two photos of their recording sessions at Studio At The Palms. Taken by Denise Truscello, the clichés quickly went around the world. For Moccio, a Niagara Falls Canadian from a Quebec mother, it was an emotional moment, since he had not worked with Celine Dion since A New Day Has Come, this hit ballad he co-wrote with Aldo Nova in 2001. "It's Céline who gave me my first big international success," says co-author of Wrecking Ball (Miley Cyrus) and Earned it (The Weeknd). For this new Celine Dion album, his first in English since Loved Me Back To Life in 2013, Stephan Moccio acts as composer and director. "I do not know how many songs she's going to end up with, but I know she's going to take a few. It's a great honor for me. "Moccio says he had a lot of fun with Celine. According to him, his voice has improved over time."It's a beauty instrument! if he exclaims. I was moved to be next to her in the studio. She is in a splendid form. She does not stop impressing me. She could stop now if she wanted. But his desire to create is too strong. I am very, very proud and excited about everything we produce together. There are damn good songs coming out this year. "Other collaboratorsStephan Moccio is not the only artist to have visited Celine Dion in the studio in recent months. According to the photos she posted on Instagram, Charlemagne's diva also reconnected with Swedish songwriter Jorgen Elofson, who also wrote for Kelly Clarkson and Britney Spears. We also know that Sia wrote three new plays for this opus. Celine Dion herself confirmed the news during an interview on Lorraine's morning show in the UK in April.Tour in Asia?No release date has yet been released for this album, but according to rumors, Celine Dion would take advantage of the summer to perform in Asia.Recall that in 2014, the singer of My Heart Will Go On was to tour Japan, but she had suspended all her professional activities to take care of Rene Angélil, who was seriously ill. 3 Quote
isurrender Posted January 10, 2018 at 01:55 PM Posted January 10, 2018 at 01:55 PM They worked together on several songs but they are not confirmed to be on the album. And after reading this and the last posts of the tour topic, we can say that she might have worked with Warren and Eg 2 years ago ... it doesn't mean it will be on the album. And who knows... all the songs were perhaps chosen as Denis said, she maybe wasn't satisfied and threw them away.. she is totally in charge now. This is so exciting I think. If René was still here, he would have dropped something. 😣 1 Quote

We all know that. I believe that there was supposed to be more promotion for "Incredible" as it was supposed to be used for the Olympics. They also had Ne-yo on the track and were probably hoping to kill two birds with one stone by releasing the video in June of 2014 as the summer Olympics approached, since promotion for the album as a whole came to a screeching halt. They tried to pick up some kind of momentum again, but it didn't work out. Idk what happened with the song at the Olympics. 2 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
