Shamrock_1982 Posted December 10, 2024 at 10:28 AM Posted December 10, 2024 at 10:28 AM I attended the opening night of Titanique in London last night and was pleasantly surprised. I never laughed so much at a west-end show. The cast were incredible and there was quite a few celebs in the audience. I recommend to any members in the UK/Ireland to go and see it 3 Quote

PuraVida Posted January 10, 2025 at 10:51 PM Posted January 10, 2025 at 10:51 PM I wonder which if any of these productions outside of NYC will be the first to close down. Or will demand be constantly high in all these cities for years to come. Quote
scielle Posted January 12, 2025 at 04:54 AM Posted January 12, 2025 at 04:54 AM I wouldn’t normally quote a rag like New York Post, but this is a nice article on Titanique (after it recently opened in London to great reviews): https://nypost.com/2025/01/11/entertainment/titanique-a-scrappy-off-broadway-comedy-has-become-a-giant-worldwide-success/ “When it opens its fifth [sic] production in Chicago in May, “Titanique” will have as many concurrent runs as “Hamilton”[…]It’s hard to think of another off-Broadway entity since “Blue Man Group” in 1991 that’s had such cross-cultural success. And, being a comedy, the feat is all the more impressive. Americans, Brits and Aussies all have proudly unique senses of humor.[…]Over the past month, I’ve seen the show on three continents — in winter coats and linen shorts. And I’ve been surprised and delighted to discover that it kills everywhere.” 1 Quote
stone Posted January 12, 2025 at 06:26 AM Posted January 12, 2025 at 06:26 AM This show being such a smash is an example of Celine’s cultural impact. Not to bring her up, but there are no shows about Mariah lol. Also Celine’s music is always being danced to on shows, figure skating competitions, sports events , etc….so it never makes sense to me when people say she’s not as relevant in America as Mariah when in fact, I think she’s even more so. Maybe because she’s Canadian with an accent, and Mariah has that urban/r&b aspect and also being bi-racial. 1 Quote

Philippe Posted February 1, 2025 at 11:22 PM Posted February 1, 2025 at 11:22 PM In saw the show yesterday in London, and it was amazing! It’s truly fascinating to see how Céline has influenced the music scene to the extent that there’s a successful musical in London not only inspired by her music but with her as the central character. The performers are incredibly talented! A must-see for any Céline Dion fans! 3 Quote
