HIGHLY doubt she will unfortunately... but this is a really cool series that has been done for the past couple of years. They've done a Broadway sings Adele... Beyonce... Justin Timberlake... Michael Jackson... Check out YouTube and you can see the videos. It's cabaret-style so nothing major in production but really incredible vocal performances. They did a "Broadway sings the TRL Generation" a year or so ago and Eric Michael Krop from Broadway's "Godspell" did an INSANE version of "To Love You More"... He sounds incredible: 10 Quote je me changerai en or pour que tu m'aimes encore
donpi86 Posted November 14, 2014 at 08:21 PM Posted November 14, 2014 at 08:21 PM Instead of Celine, they could invite Mego and maybe he "discovers" new ideas for new arrangements to the classics so they stop to sound sooo 90's and more orchestrally... hehehehehe 4 Quote

nuts2you Posted November 16, 2014 at 04:20 PM Posted November 16, 2014 at 04:20 PM ~ Celine Dion ~╰☆╮╰☆╮╰ ☆╮╰☆╮╰☆╮At age 12, Dion collaborated with her mother and her brother Jacques to compose her first song, "Ce n'était qu'un rêve" ("It Was Only a Dream"). Her brother Michel Dion sent the recording to music manager René Angélil. Angélil was moved to tears by Dion's voice, and decided to make her a star. At eighteen, after seeing a Michael Jackson performance, Dion told Angélil that she wanted to be a star like Jackson. Though confident in her talent, An...gélil realized that her image needed to be changed in order for her to be marketed worldwide. Dion receded from the spotlight for a number of months, during which she underwent dental surgery to improve her appearance, and was sent to the École Berlitz in 1989 to polish her English. Two years after she learned English, Dion made her debut into the Anglophone market with Unison (1990), the lead single having originally been recorded by Laura Branigan. She incorporated the help of many established musicians, including Vito Luprano and Canadian producer David Foster.Celine Dion, at 15, learns to speak English, 1984: CBC Archives : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7Ib4xxWREoSee More 1 Quote

Angel2006 Posted January 6, 2015 at 09:30 PM Posted January 6, 2015 at 09:30 PM I really wish and hope that Celine will be going to the opening of this! It would be so nice to see her. It would be really nice to see Rene aswell. This would be the perfect opportunity for them to go someone together in a public way for the first time since Celine's break. Hope they go. Then again, Maybe Celine might not want to sit there and listen to her own music. Celine has hinted on different occasions that she sometimes gets sick of her songs, so going somewhere and sitting there for a long time listening to her classics is probably the last thing she would want to do. I am so glad that the Broadway community is finally paying tribute to Celine! Quote
CelinesDIVO5 Posted January 6, 2015 at 10:51 PM Posted January 6, 2015 at 10:51 PM Celine definitely won't be there. This is just an artist showcase series that they do at this venue. They did Cher in November. couldawouldashoulda Posted January 7, 2015 at 02:04 AM Posted January 7, 2015 at 02:04 AM Damnit!! How did I not know this was happening?! I just tried to get tickets for me and a friend of mine. However, there is only 1 seat available in each section for each seating. I thought America hated Celine??!!!! Apparently not NYC! Quote
couldawouldashoulda Posted January 7, 2015 at 04:36 AM Posted January 7, 2015 at 04:36 AM Went ahead and got 2 tickets. Both are in the bar area - one at the bar and one at the railing (basically, just one in front of the other - have been there before). I, personally, expect this to be a train wreck (Jeremy Jordan is the only "star" mentioned and he's nails-on-a-chalkboard to me) but can't miss it!! Quote
couldawouldashoulda Posted January 7, 2015 at 04:38 AM Posted January 7, 2015 at 04:38 AM Got my tix for the 7pm show. They usually record this and the videos are on youtube but maybe SOMEONE going will audio it... If I remember, I'll record it on my iPhone. Still have Streisand's Back To Brooklyn tour on there (although, I was in the nose bleed seats so it was easier to record it without being noticed. 54 Below is a small venue!) 1 Quote
ehild Posted January 8, 2015 at 07:53 PM Posted January 8, 2015 at 07:53 PM I'd give anything to see this and their interpretation of her songs! I wonder if they'll take any artistic direction and change some things up Quote ~Liz"Please don't make your career your life. couldawouldashoulda Posted January 10, 2015 at 05:12 PM Posted January 10, 2015 at 05:12 PM It was pretty amazing. I in no way expected to enjoy it as much as I did. I can't leave a long post right now but I'm sure one of the others will give explicit details soon. Songs performed (I'm sure I won't remember them all) were That's The Way It Is (first song), The Reason, Taking Chances, The Power Of Love, All By Myself, If That's What It Takes (first verse sung as PQTME), Because You Loved Me, I Drove All Night, It's All Coming Back To Me Now (with a key change in it - amazing), I Surrender, My Heart Will Go On, Beauty and The Beast (final song) I think I'm forgetting one song. 6 Quote
