couldawouldashoulda Posted January 15, 2015 at 05:49 AM Posted January 15, 2015 at 05:49 AM I just watched most of these videos. Whoever taped these was at the 9:30 show. There are many differences from the 7pm show that I saw. From just about all of the videos that I've seen, I would say that I am glad I was at the 7pm show. I feel that the vocal performances from all I've seen were better at 7pm. By the 2nd show, their voices were giving out a bit. I mean, Donna Vivino sang All By Myself in the original key - she belted an F. I don't believe Celine ever sang it live in the original key (because, you know, she had 15 other songs to belt that night). So by the time Donna did it at 9:30, it was a little shaky once she came down off the F Still pretty flawless, but shaky. Also, at the 7pm, Jeremy Jordan, after the key change did all three "Baby, Baby, Baby"'s. God, it was a good night, though. Glad to see that someone got it all on video. And still jealous that I didn't get to see Tell Him live! Quote
donpi86 Posted January 15, 2015 at 09:25 AM Posted January 15, 2015 at 09:25 AM For what we have seen I think this was an amazing show... somehow I have the feeling that it was a bit like "tonight we parody Celine with our great voices"... I feel like somehow they joke about the songs in some gestures although they sing it in awesome ways... BUt well, it's kind of normal for example if you have to sing this overdramatic 90's ballads as IACBTMN... but hey, they are singers from Broadway...where drama is in every note... I really love the acoustic arrangements... I wish Celine would some day make a special concert like this, with some instruments but NO pre-recorded music effects. I really love when Celine sings freely and play with songs when she is on the sound checks... 1 Quote
ehild Posted January 15, 2015 at 11:59 AM Posted January 15, 2015 at 11:59 AM Omg the Jeremy Jordan IACBTMN clip is amazing!! Love that key change and his impersonation is hilarious! 1 Quote ~Liz"Please don't make your career your life. couldawouldashoulda Posted January 15, 2015 at 07:24 PM Posted January 15, 2015 at 07:24 PM LOVED him on Smash!! Some of the best music was from "Hit List!!!" HA! We will have to disagree on that. I loved the first season because I was all about Bombshell. Once the focus shifted to Hit List, I lost interest (but still watched it to the end). I didn't really care for most of the Hit List music, plus I didn't really have any idea of what the show was about. Bombshell had the life story of Marilyn going for it so I felt much more invested in that show. Am SO looking forward to the one night only show of Bombshell in June! I couldn't stand the Jeremy Jordan character on Smash which probably didn't help me with my JJ hatred. Quote

Popular Post brauhala Posted January 17, 2015 at 11:04 PM Popular Post Posted January 17, 2015 at 11:04 PM Hi gang! My name's Ben Rauhala, and I music directed/produced the "Broadway Loves Celine Dion" concerts! I am so honored that you guys have been enjoying watching the "Broadway Loves Celine Dion" videos while our beloved Celine has been on hiatus. I wanted to share with you all the full YouTube playlist of the 14 performances, plus Eric Krop's performance from our "Broadway Sings The 90's" concert in 2012! (Eric had a concert in California on the night of "Broadway Loves Celine," otherwise he would have joined us!) I am flattered and honored that many of you came out to the concert, and that you have embraced the performances!!! What a thrill and a joy to bring these songs to life! The point was to pay loving tribute to Celine, while giving a little wink once in a while to her special idiosyncrasies (the unique vowels, the signature riffs). The whole night was created with an immense amount of love and admiration for Celine and her body of work, for she is undeniably one of the most brilliant, important, and influential artists of our time! Wildly enough, Jim Steinman commented on our video of "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" about how much he enjoyed it!!! Check it out!!! Much love to all of you, and happy new year! All the best, Ben 16 Quote

stevo Posted January 18, 2015 at 03:24 PM Posted January 18, 2015 at 03:24 PM Hi Ben! How nice of you to come onto the forum and give us a little Celine-boost while we're all missing her and feeling dejected as she is taking some family time I loved the performances, especially when they added some Celine-craziness. I wish I'd been able to see the show in person. Congratulations to everybody- and impressive that Jim Steinman approved Thank you! Quote
CelinesDIVO5 Posted January 18, 2015 at 07:45 PM Posted January 18, 2015 at 07:45 PM Hey Ben!! The show was a smash!! Any plans to do Celine night again?? bronzey Posted January 20, 2015 at 01:33 PM Posted January 20, 2015 at 01:33 PM Hi Ben, Thanks for producing and putting all the videos out in Youtube. I really really enjoyed Jeremy's humorous yet absolutely wonderful take on 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now'. I also read Jim Steinman's feedback on his performance and it's jawbreaking. chocolatechip15 Posted January 21, 2015 at 02:10 AM Posted January 21, 2015 at 02:10 AM Here's another article about Jeremy Jordan's amazing cover: jezebel.com/jeremy-jordan-nails-celine-dion-cover-so-hard-its-clini-1680345464In the comments, there's someone who claims that he used to be one of Celine's backup singers. Other commenters asked questions, and these are his answers. Who knows if it's true, but it sure sounds like our Celine. Love her! Please keep in mind that these answers are based on my experiences which are now almost 20 years old. Celine was one of the most generous performers I've met / worked with when it came to her fans. She would spend some time before a concert and a lot of time after a concert meeting with them. One anecdote I can share was that when we were in Las Vegas (Caesars Palace - before they built the Colosseum) one fan had cut out every photo he could find of her and attached them onto a Macy's bag (or something like that.) He ran up to us after a rehearsal because he saw our Celine credentials or lanyards or something and he was SO excited to present her with it. Now, if it had been me I would have had someone cart this guy away. He wasn't on "the spectrum" if you know what I mean, and wasn't dangerous, just pretty wide-eyed obsessed (clearly). After the show he managed to make his way backstage and she was so gracious and pleased when he gave the bag to her. She sat and listened to him for about 15 minutes. Never broke eye contact. Smiled at him like he was her best friend. And the thing I came to learn about her was that it wasn't an act. This ability to be grateful about her career and love her fans was a genuine place in her. Personally, I think it's endearing. re: Vocal Rest - I don't recall her doing it all the time back then except when we were in Vegas because of the very dry air and A/C constantly running. It was murder on your voice and Celine's shows weren't short. She's no Bruce Springsteen but I don't think her audiences ever felt short changed with regard to the length of her shows. 2 Quote

Seems like it's being contemplated... Javascript is not enabled OR refresh the page to viewClick here to view the Tweet Randomly, interesting to see that he's a copyist for the American Psycho musical which I just saw yesterday! Pretty out there (no surprise, given the source material!) but I rather liked it! And very well woven-in use of late 80's pop - Phil Collins, Huey Lewis and the News - which made me think we need more Celine content on Broadway. Lends itself so well. Quote
