Also just caught it in on Broadway this week! I saw it earlier off broadway and so hadn't seen Marla Mindelle before and agree with what someone said earlier about her not being the best Celine... Bless her, but it's really hard for her to come on w MHWGO right after Deborah Cox belts out ABM 😅

Anyway all good fun, I understand it's not designed for the Celine fan in me as much as I wish it was 😅 and so am mildly bummed out that they had to explain the Who let the dogs out deep cut when before they just winked at it!

ABM is one of the highlights of the show... usually all the productions I saw or heard audio recordings, have a pretty good singer for that part...

I've learned to like Marla... she's good at the improvisation part, and she's good with Celine's mannerisms...

now, for the Who Let The Dogs Out.... I guess even some Celine fans wouldn't get that part 😅

My god. Saw the Titanique performance on the Tony awards and it was God -awful.  Whoever plays Céline screeches and dies the worst québécois accent.

I’ve yet to see ANYONE impersonate Celine that’s good at it… maybe it’s because we know her so well, but it’s always way too over the top and cringe. Having said that, I do at least respect that Titanique is seemingly a love letter to her. But still I agree with you.

By the way her name is Marla Mindelle she’s not only plays Celine but is the creator and writer of the show.

It would be great if she didn't shreek and if she sang on key.

Meh, not the greatest performance and no, they didn’t win, but still - love seeing “Céline” at the Tonys. Who would have thought this running joke between some theatre kids would go this far?

Also, I love that Marla seems to have brought her dad - a musical theatre writer - along as her +1.

Shocked and sad that Layton didn’t win last night, he was incredible in London’s version.
