Not Celine related, but Marla Mindelle (aka the original Titanique Celine) is moving up in the world, with a new project to be produced by LuckyChap (Margot Robbie's prod co behind Barbie & Saltburn). Titanique/ "Celine" really put her on the map in a major way and this is cool to see. Congrats!

Titanique is expanding!

We already knew about Toronto and Montreal later this year and now, apparently it's headed to London's West End!

that's great news!! Happy to see there's (international) interest in this! Too bad Céline isn't officially connected to it.

Well we are waiting for her arrival to see it. Show the production/cast some love.. of course I don’t know.

I want think she cares but I think if she’s feeling well enough to stop by a Katy Perry concert you’d think she would’ve turned up in attendance while in NYC.

Meh, lots of “her people” have been and said she’d love it. She’s been in NYC once, that we know of, and just because she hasn’t been yet doesn’t mean she’s “clearly not interested”…

Well she’s heading to New York this weekend again, so we’ll see. Maybe I should’ve phrased it differently, TO ME, she clearly hasn’t showed interest in it yet.

I’ll be at the opening night in London… and I pray that the really funny actor in NYC who played Rose’s mum just before Xmas will be in the cast :)

And now we have dates for the Canadian production.

Montreal Oct 27- Nov 24 (Segal Centre)

Toronto Dec 5 - Jan 12 (CAA Theatre)

“Véronique Claveau, a Québecois performer known for her work onstage and screen, will star as Dion in the Canadian premiere. She was a finalist in 2004 on the reality television show “Star Académie.” Claveau also lent her voice as Princess Anna in the Quebec version of the animated film “Frozen.””

From Tye Blue: “Today is Day 1 of 3 straight weeks of @titaniquemusical auditions for 3 different companies on 3 different continents”… what? North America & Europe makes two. Where else are they going?

Maybe he wanted to say 3 countries (incl the NYC show) instead of 3 continents 😬🤭

Otherwise would it mean that something’s happening in Asia too (most likely other location no ?)

Tangential, but I saw The Wiz on Broadway tonight, featuring one Deborah Cox as Glinda. The Deborah Cox, Canadian Music Hall of Famer and former Celine backup singer. She only had two solo songs but was fab.

She's amazing!

She also did the musical version of The Bodyguard, where she played Whitney...

Well, turns out it was 3 continents.

Titanique is coming to Australia: https://www.smh.com.au/culture/musicals/a-cult-hit-celine-dion-themed-parody-of-titanic-is-coming-to-sydney-20240417-p5fkjs.html

"Titanique’s Sydney home will be the Grand Electric on Redfern’s Cleveland Street, formerly the Giant Dwarf."

Personally, I think they butcher every song in the musical, but I always thought it was supposed to be so bad that it's funny.

But I'm very happy that the show is doing so well

I saw it with the original cast (in the grocery store basement) and I thought, overall, they did justice to the songs. Maybe it’s one of those thing where you have to be there in person… kind of like the CWT :giggle:

I have a feeling that the Montreal production won't be as successful as the other cities, but let's see.
