smash Posted September 23, 2013 at 09:38 AM Posted September 23, 2013 at 09:38 AM I think it should come out Nov or Dec. LMBTL came out beginning Sep, waiting for Jan is a bit too long. That will be 4 months between 1st and 2nd singles. Maybe if they release 2nd single a couple of weeks after the actual album release. Not too long after album release. I don't know, that just makes more sense to me. I could be wrong. Sharon 1 Quote
Javito Posted September 23, 2013 at 09:58 AM Posted September 23, 2013 at 09:58 AM (edited) I also agree that a second single is needed when the album is released, to help the sales more. If the videoclip for LMBTL is not released soon, she has already promoted the song in USA and I don't think its going to get a boost 2 months later when the album is released. They missed the momentum of the song when she premiered it in july and everyone was talking about it. First chance wasted. They missed the momentum to release the videoclip when the single was released 3 weeks ago. Second chance wasted. And do you still expect miracles from Sony? Do you really think they're going to do more for the song when its clear they've let their chances pass again? It's true, I don't have any hopes on Sony. We've seen enough times how they have ruined the promo of her albums with empty "promises". If the single is played in radios anytime in Europe, I don't think it will be because of Sony. Waiting for a second single until january is way too much time, but we'll see. Hope I'm wrong and the first single still has some chances to succeed in november Edited September 23, 2013 at 10:01 AM by Javito 4 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

DionFanAlways Posted September 23, 2013 at 10:53 AM Posted September 23, 2013 at 10:53 AM Well Sia tweeted and said she was going to Japan. I told her we'll keep promo LMBTL but it's like walking uphill both ways in a blizzard type battle! (lol, like it'll make a difference.)I guess official promo is dead. If Celine, Sony and team doesn't want it then I guess it's dead. Great song though. Only 2 performances of LMBTL while she was sick? and a few interviews. 1 Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

guyddavies Posted September 23, 2013 at 11:46 AM Posted September 23, 2013 at 11:46 AM In the USA it really is pointless to releaseca single to AC, I remember being in NYC in nov/dec 2007 and it is all christmas music, hence why taking chances jumped up the chart in january. Think it was an uphill battle getting LMBTL played try getting a single played in november. As for sony what more can they really do, celine has has been on tv, they made the usual one day radio deal, more than they have done in the past, but radio refuse to play her, without radio there is nothing sony can do, her album will sell loads no matter what but as marketing director at sony, if we werent fans of celine could we really justify millions on promotion when on shows celine doesnt talk much about music other than on larry king to say she hates it sometimes, and its not her life, and also radio point blank refuse her. No if I worked for sony I would take all that money and pump it into album promotion. If LMBTL doesnt chart the only logical step is a duet with one direction or beiber, sad to say what other song on the album will do what LMBTL couldnt 1 Quote

Prima_Donna1 Posted September 23, 2013 at 11:59 AM Posted September 23, 2013 at 11:59 AM (edited) I am kind of tired of seeing and hearing how the radio won't even back up Celine. That's a shame! They are the reason she can't have a hit. But why? It's the same bullcrap that happens. I blame her, the radio and especially the record label with their shotty promotion. I hope that with the album they promote it good if not, she going to flop for no reason. It's just sad that the radio and music industry are her only obstacles. So I played them Loved Me back to life, they were like "what the hell is this--I like it, but never heard of it". I said "it's actually Celine's new song" and they were like ya, it's good but nobody will know it we've never heard of it. So, there you go. All of these people were UNDER 30 years of age--and LIKED IT She FRIGGIN WELL NEEDS RADIO because people LIKE THE DAMN SONG "WHEN" they hear it. AND they're not even Celine fans! such a shame that the radio does not play her song! it is a GREAT song and it is way better than that stupid Roar song or Lady Gaga trash ( swine). By the way - Madonna and Cher are way older ( and Tina even older) and they still have airplay, why not Celine?Any dutchies in here who know if Dutch radio are playing her song? Shaun Posted September 23, 2013 at 12:44 PM Posted September 23, 2013 at 12:44 PM It is, quite frankly, a bit bizarre that all of a sudden after "I'm Alive" radio worldwide just seems to have dropped her pretty much completely. Is it linked to her going to Vegas? Is someone behind the scenes at Sony sabotaging her career? (A bit dramatic but after 13 years constant radio support then literally nothing is just bizarre) Has Celine said something or did something controversial that we've all missed? There is no justifiable reason for the lack of radio support if you look at it from a completely neutral point of view. She has the fan base, she has the voice and she's tried several times now to update her sound, with "Loved Me Back To Life" being the most successful attempt in my opinion, and yet radio still do not play her. It *should* be a case of Sony send the CD to radio and the song is played. That's how it used to be for Celine up to "I'm Alive" and that's how it still is for all other artists today. It is just bizarre. 1 Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.

It is a matter that since 2002 she has serenaded eeeeeeeverybody, journalists, press and media in the industry about her son, being a mother, her great husband and her mother, and always placing the music talk behind, sometimes not even talking about music at all. What credibility can give a radio PR who is watching or reading her interviews to play her new song, when all her verbal (and not verbal) message is "I don't care about music anymore but my family" for 11 years (and counting)? Have you seen Madonna, Cher, Mariah Carey or Jennifer Lopez constantly talking about her children and husband everywhere they go when they have a new album released? manu23 Posted September 23, 2013 at 01:48 PM Posted September 23, 2013 at 01:48 PM Britney Spears was at GMA the other day and she just talked about her new show in Vegas, still her song is gaining like 3M audience every day. The problem with Celine is that she is not "cool", she wasn't in the 90s and this is not going to change now. She projects a very different image far from what is played in radios now, she is not controversial and that doesn't sell nowadays. It is also Sony's fault, if they wanted Celine on radios, they would pay (like all labels do for their artists) but in Celine's case they know she will still sell records even without a hit single, why should they invest money then? Nobody expects a hit single from Celine, all efforts will go to the album, is just a different strategy. There are artists with a few #1 singles that can't even go gold with their albums, I guess it all comes to money at the end, Sony and Celine's profits must be quit high without hit singles, so why bother? Anyway I think the strategy works, the uncool and "boring" Celine Dion is still here after 30 years of career, we'll see where all these artist played on radios are in a few years 3 Quote

guyddavies Posted September 23, 2013 at 01:57 PM Posted September 23, 2013 at 01:57 PM Celine has always talked about family, even in the 90s, yes more so now, but even in the 90s at the hight of her career there were people who said she was too scmaltzy, remember reading a biography where the host basically asked her why she was like that and she got upset. In terms of coolness factor it has never been "cool" to like celine, and anyone who says it has never had to live through school in the 90s being laughed at and bullied because they liked celine. Maybe thars why I love her so much because if that didnt stop me liking her nothing will. So no its not that she suddenly became uncool, or talked kids, its not even vegas, seriously its her age, she was still in her 30s when im alive was released, even when taking chances was released. Look up on google ageism on american radio! Its existed for years, madonna had worldwide hits in her 40s but really struggled on american radio, cher only got to number 1 because she personally went to clubs, djs, and got it played, went on every talk show, and it got to number 1 without radio play, and radio had to give in and play it, the ageism tends to be towards women. Tom jones, bowie, elton, they do well but the females dont. Even people like glenn close, bette midler, say that america is ageist! Merly streep is one of the few older women still getting decent roles, where as how many older male actors struggle with work. Cher has been speaking about it recently and for a woman in showbiz aging and career death might as well be the same thing, at 52 she became the oldest woman to have a hit, how many hits have males older than that had. In europe when celine is here promoting there will be a few countries where it is a hit, it may have been meryl streep who said that in europe we respect our elders, look after them, revere them, but in america they sort of become a part of society that is shied away from. One only has to look at the gossip mags in america, who cares if michael douglas marries a woman so much younger, that jack nicholson does it, and while there was controversy at first regarding rene and celine her being 19 and had been his client for 5 years before hand, now no one cares, where as when madonna has a 20 year old boyfriend, or cher, etc its a huge huge story, because peop, e see it as wrong. I know some of this has been off topic, but we cant solely blame celine, this is because she has gotten older in a show biz world where that just isnt acceptable, look at USA radio, who are having hits, 18 to 30 somethings, and whos careers are struggling, or really having to fight to be noticed mariah careys, janet jacksons. Chers, madonnas, celines, its sad but true, there are so many articles about this online and even many university papers written about gender and ageism 7 Quote

And before her Madonna (Britney, Justin Timberlake ...) US Top40 radios don't play singers over 40 anymore, there is no point in trying to find a reason, that's the way it is. Madonna performed on the most watched tv show in America (and one of the most watched worldwide) and her single and album are actually considered flops, how can we expect Celine's song to be a hit after an interview in Ellen when last Mylie video had more than 100M views on youtube after three days. Maybe thars why I love her so much because if that didnt stop me liking her nothing will. Yes, I experienced it again this past saturday. I was having a drink with some friends and one of them introduced us a friend of him. The first one, who has been my class mate since I was 10 years old knows I'm a crazy Céline fan and he brought up the topic to this new friend. His comment: "Celine Dion? Does that woman still sing? How old is she already? She must be 60 or so?" Everybody thinks the same, its the same ignorance everywhere. And in the best cases the most recent song they remember of her is "I Drove All Night" or "I'm Alive" (that when its not the "Titanic song" the only one they can name of her) Who's to blame for this? Who's fault is that Céline's career has ended this way for the general public? I think there's not only one part to blame for this, but several parts (Sony Music's lack of involvement with her since 2003), her isolation in Vegas since a decade ago, and also Céline herself. Her attitude towards her own music has not been that of someone who fights for her own music and wants to present the new songs wherever she goes. We perfectly know she has mainly focused on singing to death her pre-2000 hits during the decade 2003-2013, and when they included new songs in her concerts, which songs they were? It wasn't an overnight thing. As is often the case in music or film, you're only as good as your last hit. Basically ANDHC was the beginning of Celine's downfall. The lead single was a worldwide success, but it wasn't the HUGE smash that you'd expect for her comeback single (especially after 2 colossal studio albums in the 90s just prior). Even though the album opened with huge sales based on hype alone, ultimately the singles couldn't garner the lasting radio support that LTAL or FIY had (which was the key to their success and longevity).Even though many of us disagree with certain single choices during this era, I doubt any of them would have turned this album into a smash hit. It may have improved the sales marginally, at best. She had to resort to payola deals during the ANDHC era and it caused a lot of controversy. They even offered free Vegas tickets just for the dj's to play GTSW, and it was reported in the press. Anyway, we can rant on for ages and assign blame here and there, but at the end of the day no one's career peak lasts forever, and Celine had an amazing run as it is. If we claim Celine's career has been underwhelming after a certain point because of mismanagement, then the fans of pretty much every single artist who are no longer at the height of their career can claim the same...What makes Celine so special? Well Sia tweeted and said she was going to Japan. I told her we'll keep promo LMBTL but it's like walking uphill both ways in a blizzard type battle! (lol, like it'll make a difference.)I guess official promo is dead. If Celine, Sony and team doesn't want it then I guess it's dead. Great song though.
