LukeD Posted November 4, 2013 at 08:50 AM Posted November 4, 2013 at 08:50 AM I like the way she plays with the colours of her voice in this song, something that I missed in 'Taking Chances' and 'D'elles' and was evident in 'Sans Attendre'. Great song! 1 Quote
mike_z Posted November 4, 2013 at 03:11 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 03:11 PM am i the only one who think she sounds a bit unlike her? it's because her voice was pitched. If I have time I will lower her voice and you will quickly recognize her Quote

mike_z Posted November 4, 2013 at 03:42 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 03:42 PM Adele can't possibly sing in that upper register. pitched or not pitched. She's a contralto! 2 Quote
mike_z Posted November 4, 2013 at 03:47 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 03:47 PM i read somewhere, people said that TTWII was pitched too. is that true? Yes it's true. I made a list of songs where her voice was pitched a few pages back in this thread. And there are more! I'm thinking I forgot about "You And I" Quote
ashtonelijah Posted November 4, 2013 at 04:03 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 04:03 PM Adele can't possibly sing in that upper register. pitched or not pitched. She's a contralto! Yeah, once we got to the bigger notes, my mom realized it couldn't be Adele and had to be Celine. But during the beginning, she asked if it was Adele. lol 1 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v27/warathogwarts/lovedmebackbanner.jpg

Bad when she performed TTWII live. 1 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v27/warathogwarts/lovedmebackbanner.jpg

mike_z Posted November 4, 2013 at 05:48 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 05:48 PM Ok guys here's a sample I made of Céline's voice on Breakaway but with her original pitch. You'll see she sounds less "girly" but a lot more like her. And the big notes sound a lote more powerful. They probably did it because Céline was struggling with the original key, which is quite high for her 45 year-old voice. Now you'll understand what I was talking about when I said her voice had been pitched, and you'll recognize the real Céline right away! The only weird thing about my sample is that I had to lower the tempo too, cuz I did it fast. But listen to the voice! http://www.sendspace.com/file/9l3nzb 1 Quote

LukeD Posted November 4, 2013 at 07:50 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 07:50 PM Adele can't possibly sing in that upper register. pitched or not pitched. She's a contralto!Any female singer can hit D5s and Eb5s which are the highest notes in 'Breakaway'. Adele couldn't do it because she's an overrated, limited vocalist. She can't go past C5. 1 Quote

Nando Férri Posted November 4, 2013 at 08:33 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 08:33 PM (edited) i read somewhere, people said that TTWII was pitched too. is that true?I don't think it's true. Celine clearlly can sing in that key, but it's not that confortable for her. That's why the live versions used to be in a lower key.In this video she sings it in a pitch higher than in the album version:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=732swKETFJI Edited November 4, 2013 at 08:34 PM by Nando Férri Quote http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4ejungtQy1r9swpco6_250.gif

This happens often. When Celine performed this, it was in the album key. But if we are going to equate Celine performing songs in a lower key live to her songs being "pitched"...then that would go for just about every song in her English career. She has ALWAYS done the majority of her songs in lower keys when performed live because it isn't as harsh on the voice. Not because she couldn't hit the notes. 4 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
mike_z Posted November 4, 2013 at 09:34 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 09:34 PM Of course most of the artists lower the songs when they sing them live. It's normal. But BREAKAWAY was pitched, period. Quote
Your_Su_Phu Posted November 4, 2013 at 10:32 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 10:32 PM Adele's not a contralto. Her voice is very feminine from top to bottom. Being a contralto requires a lot more than a strong lower range. Cher is a true contralto and she has hit an F6.. 1 Quote

I don't think it's a stretch that Celine sang in the same key as the album, she does some amazing things in the studio. 1 Quote
Shaun Posted November 4, 2013 at 10:46 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 10:46 PM Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh so I finally succumbed to the pressure tonight and decided to listen to another track from "Loved Me Back To Life" before it's official release in the UK next Monday and I chose "Breakaway" as that track. WOW! Just outstanding, loving how Celine sounds and I love the simplicity of the track. Based on LMBTL, SLS and now Breakaway I truly cannot wait to get my hands on the album next Monday. The best Celine has sounded in years. 2 Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.

It will get better, I promise I went through the same thing in a relationship I got out of a year ago. When I first heard the lyrics to this song... I was just like... Wow... I could've written this. It took several years and a lot of strength to finally break away, because I was always worried about... "but on the other side of yesterday, beyond the heartache, what if all I am without the pain is empty hearted?" It was so scary. So yeah, this song... really speaks to me. 1 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v27/warathogwarts/lovedmebackbanner.jpg
