It was #1 on AC chart, made a minor appearance elsewhere, it is barely memorable to date (outside the fan base, of course) and it also failed to chart in Japan and Australia. The single has sold less than 300k worldwide. 'My Heart Will Go On' would be a better example of a song that became a hit despite being #12. Anyway, I was talking about #8 which is usually the middle of her albums. Back to topic, 'Breakaway' is a modern power ballad, Celine is known for her dramatic power ballads, so I see no reason why this song would flop while 'Thank You' wouldn't. I agree that they should release videos and especially use the duet with Ne-Yo and good news is that 'Incredible' will be the next single in North America. About Celine's career going down the drain... Unless you haven't noticed what is going on around you, album sales are pretty much OVER on a global scale, so a singer has to rely on touring to make money and relate his/her name to 'success'! Since radios don't play her songs, Celine made the best decision to stay in Vegas till 2019. It'll be even better, if she does some mini-tours here and there. 3.5m copies were sold from 'Taking Chances', 2.1m from 'My Love, 1.5m from 'Sans Attendre'... The new English album has sold almost 600k so far and I bet it will surpass the 1m mark by the end of 2013. No bad at all. You don't find many singers out there with Celine's longevity! I think a lot of the UK success is down to BBC Radio 2, they have really supported her right from the start with this album. Obviously Sony Music UK are paying for all this publicity, I think it's pretty rare to have 2 consecutive singles by the same artist supported like this over a sustained period of time, it's fantastic! 5 Quote

LukeD Posted December 7, 2013 at 11:39 AM Posted December 7, 2013 at 11:39 AM (edited) I bought both Editions (Standard and Deluxe) of the album and I gave the Deluxe Edition to my French teacher, who is a huge Celine fan, to have a listen. She kept the album for 1 week and when she gave it back to me she told me she'd definitely buy the album sometime soon and that her absolute favorite song is 'Breakaway'.
