donpi86 Posted December 15, 2013 at 08:38 PM Posted December 15, 2013 at 08:38 PM I think this show special performances are a little bit awkward... like.. you have a megastar in the show but you put the focus on the dancers and people applauses the dancing movements and the star is in a second place like in the background.... it is a pitty because this song is so amazing to see how she sings it with the full attention in her... Hope she performance again this song in another show... or in Vegas (and wait for the possible future DVD...) She really looked stunning... It was live? Not sure... 2 Quote
LukeD Posted December 15, 2013 at 09:23 PM Posted December 15, 2013 at 09:23 PM Excellent performance. People who haven't listened to the album version will not understand this was an edited version. Everything went amazingly well. 2 Quote

zenmeban Posted December 16, 2013 at 01:55 AM Posted December 16, 2013 at 01:55 AM That's funny how there are now 2 different edited versions of the song. One for radio which sounds weird, and that one from Striclty Come Dancing which remains more in the spirit of the original song. 2 Quote BRICEhttp://s17.postimg.org/7igcotu27/DFGHLK.jpg
winforlife Posted December 16, 2013 at 04:34 AM Posted December 16, 2013 at 04:34 AM The SCD performance wasn't live but it was a good choice. . It's a Céline ballad with some soaring high notes-def. a good dance song for this show. Personally, it's one of my favorites from the album. Can't forget to mentioned that Céline looked elegant 1 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg

LuisMa Posted December 16, 2013 at 02:14 PM Posted December 16, 2013 at 02:14 PM What baffles me is why they haven't released the radio edit for purchase. A few more sales are being wasted. I don't like the edit, but as a fan I would buy it to have the different HQ quality, and I'm sure others would do the same, not to mention those watchers who loved the performance from yesterday and haven't got to buy it as they don't see the single on the main page, where it should be. 4 Quote

Javito Posted December 16, 2013 at 04:35 PM Posted December 16, 2013 at 04:35 PM Not to mention that on Celine's website there should be a player in the main page where the current single should play as soon as you type "www.celinedion.com", but Céline's website is the only of her category that doesn't do this 3 Quote "Hush, now... Jeff Abbott Posted December 16, 2013 at 07:08 PM Posted December 16, 2013 at 07:08 PM (edited) REVIEW: CELINE DION OWNS HER NEW SINGLE BREAKAWAY http://wiwibloggs.co...reakaway/35256/ Celine Dion is making The United Kingdom one of her focus markets. Last month, she appeared on the X Factor promoting the title-track of her latest album ‘Love Me Back To Life’, and last night, she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing to promote the follow-up single, ‘Breakaway’. Although ‘Breakaway’ was originally recorded by German reality starlet Ivy Quainoo for her 2012 album Ivy, there is little doubt that Dion will be taking ownership of it. After all, this is what Celine Dion does best! To put it mildly, Dion is an artist that invests little time in song-writing, preferring to usurp other peoples’ work instead. The mega hits in her extensive catalogue are songs that started life as other people’s hits. Examples include ‘The Power Of Love’, ‘Natural Woman’, ‘All By Myself’, ‘I Drove All Night’, ‘Alone’, and ‘The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face’, to name a few. That said, ‘Breakaway’ is a beautiful piano-led track. She starts out low and sultry, and as the story develops, her signature soprano emerges. The song’s orchestration is rich, Dion’s delivery is dynamic, yet she remains committed to a performance that comes from the soul. She recognises her own gift. As she told the BBC: ‘I’ve improved with age.’ In keeping with the theme of pop music in the 21st century, her voice on ‘Breakaway’ has been enhanced with auto-tune. However, its usage here is akin to sprinkling a little salt on food. It adds to the taste of the meal. Dion remains powerfully present throughout the 4 minute ballad. Despite this song not having an official music video or a physical release, I’m confident that it’ll chart within the Top 20 of most major music markets.
