^ By the way albums are selling nowadays there, I guess you'd be correct, Wayne. I'm that no album has gone past 300,000 copies this year so close to Christmas. I know times have changed, but at least one album in the past 10 years (if I'm not mistaken) has gone way past 300,000 at least one frame near the holiday season.

Well unfortunately I have to agree with you. You'd have to be a hard core fan to listen to something you do not understand all the way!! And I see by the figures that

her French albums don't do well in the U.S. That explains why Sony ignores the market.

Yeah, I have to agree with you. It's a real shame too, 'cause there are a lot of people who are missing out on a real gem. It might be different tho' if Sony would promote the CD in the United States. People don't know what they're missing if they aren't given a chance to hear, and see Celine, sing the songs. The US is a very diverse country. It's not the same as it was 20 years ago. Wake up Sony!!!

D'Eux was released in the US as "The French Album" - perhaps leading the casual fan to think that was the only French album. It's also by far the most available -- I still see it in stores today. Never see any of her other French stuff available in stores these days.

 

If they do ever decide to release SA in the US, a lot of the hardcore fans (like me) will have already bought it online. But our numbers should count!

Yeah, but nonetheless they should give it a try. Not ship hundreds of thousands of copies, but make some available in key markets to see how it sells. If it does test well, then ship more. It's not that they couldn't do it, it's just they don't want to. And I read from Mike that some SA albums are manufactured in the US, so of course that they have the material, all they need is the license and distribution. The album is still in its early stages, so maybe they'll change their mind, hopefully.

That's impressive! Barely 1 month and a half and this album is reaching the million copies sold. This proves without any doubt that the french public missed her. Hope its the same with the english album! :clap:

 

If the album keeps selling this well, do you dream of a special edition release, like me? They could take advantage of this success and re-release the album with the real photoshoot, and maybe a bonus DVD including the making of in the recording studio, and the videoclips or the TV special.

In Poland SA is down to 36th place but it's still in the chart after 6 weeks. It's really good without ANY promotion. This time I'm really disappointed with our media. I wish Celine's management would do sth about it. It's great that she is promoting the album in francophone countires but they should think about others too...

I reckon its sold around 685,000-690,000 - MT continue to underestimate the sales in Belgium and Switzerland.

 

It has for sure close to shipping around a million copies worldwide - 600,000 France, 50,000 Belgium [cert = 15,000 but its sales are definitely considerably higher], 15,000 Switzerland, 10,000 Poland, 240,000 Canada etc

The US charts don't include import sales - so if you were to purchase Sans attendre in the US from a French bank account, it'd count as a French sale

Thanks for leting me know that the that french album, D"Eux I have seen that around in stores, but never thought it was that album, I have seen others french albums in store, FYI stores that is where I have gottin all her french material from,,

I saw the Belgium results a few hours ago - its only 5 and a half weeks worth, and it only includes 50 chart weeks [so might yet get updated].

 

Either way, its a fabulous result for Celine - further proof of her enduing popularity!

These might be quite impressive since SA is arguably the best-selling album on amazon.fr (based on the album sales from last week alone)
