mike_z Posted December 31, 2012 at 06:40 PM Posted December 31, 2012 at 06:40 PM I'm secretly hoping for >100k . She would beat Adele. It would be come the #1 selling album in France in 2012. And in less than 2 months! If it doesn't, it's still a titanic success!! Quote
LuisMa Posted December 31, 2012 at 06:44 PM Posted December 31, 2012 at 06:44 PM This unprecedented success hopefully will be also a wake up call for the label to see that heavy promotion and right single decisions are also a must for the English albums that will follow. 1 Quote
mike_z Posted December 31, 2012 at 07:20 PM Posted December 31, 2012 at 07:20 PM Yeah and please, we need 5 singles! For God's sake! Hopefully we'll get some news after the 1st! Quote

I also hope she will hit #1, but Switzerland is a STRONG #ss market for Rihanna, so I think that Celine's hitting #1 depends on Rihanna's falling from #1 - which at the moment doesn't seem likely as Rihanna has a planned world tour and currently has the #1 single in Switzerland.. mike_z Posted January 1, 2013 at 03:57 PM Posted January 1, 2013 at 03:57 PM Let's see what happens? So where do you think "Sans Attendre" will place on Céline's discography? As a milestone? a good comeback? one of her most successful french albums? a wasted oportunity from Sony Music? Quote
LuisMa Posted January 1, 2013 at 04:00 PM Posted January 1, 2013 at 04:00 PM Let's see what happens? So where do you think "Sans Attendre" will place on Céline's discography? As a milestone? a good comeback? one of her most successful french albums? a wasted oportunity from Sony Music? Good question. It's a bit too early to call it a milestone. A good comeback it definitely is. It's slowly shaping up to be one of her most successful French albums, but it still lacks the huge charting single. It will be a wasted opportunity if, given the strong material that is there, Sony doesn't keep promoting good singles and videos. Quote

As a milestone? a good comeback? one of her most successful french albums? a wasted oportunity from Sony Music? I think its a good comeback, on the whole. Sales wise, it will probably outsell all but S'il Suffisait D'aimer and D'eux in terms of French studio albums - so it will end up being a milestone, I reckon - if the pace is maintained and she doesn't drop like a rock once the promo has died down. mike_z Posted January 1, 2013 at 04:35 PM Posted January 1, 2013 at 04:35 PM Yeah guys! SISDA didn't have a strong charting single either! Not even videos! And many of those songs became Céline classics! Aren't you guys happy that you're watching this happen? I mean, this will be Céline's 3rd most successful album in french, among dozens she's put out! And in an era where cds don't sell as before! Quote
Alex_Incognito Posted January 1, 2013 at 04:41 PM Posted January 1, 2013 at 04:41 PM I think we should be happy with all of the promo Céline did for this album. I certainly wasn't expecting it and I highly doubt we'll see any more. I hope we see differently. 1 Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

Timster Posted January 2, 2013 at 07:54 PM Posted January 2, 2013 at 07:54 PM Wouldn't it be great if the singles from the next English album include new French songs as B-sides?!
