Sans attendre on the charts worldwide

Sony and Céline's team will be seriously blind and deaf if they don't release a new single AND videoclip, after all this great news.

 

I think they will... and they will be idiots if they don't.

 

I suspect they're waiting for the new year to come, and for the success of "Parler À Mon Père" to finally wane. I don't know if they'll push "Le Miracle" more aggressively or if they expect it to be the sleeper hit that PAMP was, but if I really wish for a third single to be released soon and that it boosts the album again for Valentine's Day.

I also believe SANS ATTENDRE should be released in other big markets for Céline.. like Mexico, Asia... maybe it wouldn't sell in the US, but it definitely could in some other big markets for Céline, like Australia, South Korea, Japan, China...

What about RUSSIA? They seem to love French music (given the popularity of both Patricia Kaas and Lara Fabian there).

To me, Russia always seemed to be a market which is kind of unexplored by Celine.

"Sans Attendre" already killed "D'elles", matched the success of "1F&4T" and "Dion Chante Plamondon". Now we're after "S'il Suffisait D'aimer"... why not? If we adapt the numbers taking into consideration the decline in cd sales, that's not impossible.

 

Céline hadn't been this big in France since 2005's "On Ne Change Pas" which spent 7 consecutive weeks at #1. But that was a compilation album, so it doesn't count!

it still hasnt beaten 1F4T in france, It sold 730k approximately so she still has a couple hundred thousands to sell to catch up. I'm sure she will though

I said "matched" in terms of success, because it's probably gonna get there in the end, and if we consider the drop in sales in the past 10 years, "Sans Attendre" is a lot more Successful than 1F&4T.

I don't think that's a smart move, maybe PAMP is still doing good after 5 months of its release, but they shouldn't wait to let the success of one single die to release a new one. The moment is now: why not take advantage of this beautiful moment with the sales and release a new single now? I think that sending to the french radios the most singles they can of this album can only do good.

Agreed, I think that with "Sans Attendre" Celine's team has got on their side both this "luxury" of choice (many songs from SA could potentially become hit singles) as well as the interest from the public (massive album sales), which seems to be waitng for more and more from Celine.

 

They really need to 'milk that cash cow' to the very last drop, if you know what I mean.

Most definitely agree with you because she is going to have to start promoting WAAF soon. They need to seize the moment.

Of course I get what you mean! For 5 years Sony has been milking Céline fans their money releasing old albums in dozens of editions, even when they didn't know what to release, we got yet another same box combining both her french and english albums.

 

With her past french albums we've seen between 2003 and 2012 how Sony France has released D'eux/D'elles and 1F&4T in the most variety of forms you can imagine: box sets, collections, eco-friendly packages etc. NOW they have a big excuse to release new things, they've got new music and they've got a successful album. If they can't see that more singles are needed to promote this new music and that a special edition can be released, they're totally stupid. I mean, they have there a complete unreleased photoshoot with Céline for this album! Why not release it? And also, in the past if the first edition of an album was successful, big artists like her would extend the sucess releasing more songs in a second edition. And by the way, its NOW when Sans Attendre's life is needed to be promoted, not in 3, 5 or 10 months. The sooner, the better, because she's coming with another english album and we know that when that album is released, they will probably forget about the french album. Seeing the success this album is having gives me a lot of hope for the English release. If we, like Wayne mentioned, see the incredible surge of sales in France, I hope there's light for those markets that have been not as great as they used to.
