mike_z Posted December 25, 2012 at 03:27 PM Posted December 25, 2012 at 03:27 PM When will the French sales figures be released? These might be quite impressive since SA is arguably the best-selling album on amazon.fr (based on the album sales from last week alone) I cannot wait. And we all know she sells a lot more physical than digital... so it's gonna be massive this week!! >100k in France alone! #1 in France again! How many weeks was 1F&4T at the top spot in France? 1 Quote

Jeff Abbott Posted December 26, 2012 at 09:57 AM Posted December 26, 2012 at 09:57 AM (edited) According to this article on montrealgazette.com, "Sans Attendre" was the 4th best selling album in Canada in 2012. "The physical album continued its gradual decline: 28,772,200 units were sold in Canada, in physical and digital formats combined. That’s down two per cent from last year, according to Nielsen SoundScan. But digital tracks were up 23 per cent, with 107,441,400 sold, the sales tracking system reported. When you factor in track equivalent sales — with 10 track downloads considered as an album — album sales are actually up four per cent from last year, Nielsen Canadian operations director Paul Tuch said. The solid figures were helped by the woman who was last year’s big story: Adele’s unstoppable 21, released at the beginning of 2011, was Canada’s bestselling album this year, followed by review-proof product like One Direction’s Up All Night and Swift’s Red. Céline Dion’s Sans attendre came in at No. 4." Source: http://www.montrealg...2955/story.html Edited December 26, 2012 at 09:59 AM by Jeff Abbott 1 Quote

mike_z Posted December 26, 2012 at 06:46 PM Posted December 26, 2012 at 06:46 PM Do you guys think she'll surpass Mylene's first week sales, including the digital sales? That would turn this into the best selling week for any album in France this year. Quote

LuisMa Posted December 26, 2012 at 07:34 PM Posted December 26, 2012 at 07:34 PM That's really amazing. And in the long short run, it'll definitely surpass 1 million there. Fantastic! Quote
Jeff Abbott Posted December 26, 2012 at 07:34 PM Posted December 26, 2012 at 07:34 PM (edited) At this point we need to find out the sales of Sexion D'assaut (with the album "L'apogée", the current #2 on the French albums chart) which (according to ukmix.com) sold a total of 507,000 (excluding last week). So if it happens to sell less than k13, then Celine will most likely score the second best-selling album in France in 2012. Still, I can't believe it !!!140,718 copies in one week. That's unbelievable. :xmas_w00t: Edited December 26, 2012 at 07:41 PM by Jeff Abbott Quote

Anyone doubting now this is Céline's third most successful french album of her entire career? So a total of 140,718 copies from last week doesn't include the digital sales. I thought that number was both physical and digital sales combined.Well, it's even better, maybe eventually that number will move closer to 150k. LuisMa Posted December 26, 2012 at 08:31 PM Posted December 26, 2012 at 08:31 PM ^ Yeah definitely. And as the album is still strong at number 2 on Amazon.fr, no doubt it'll ride high on next week's chart for sure. Quote

Since she was #1 at amazon.fr BTW does anyone have the chart run and sales for 1F&4T? I know it was #1 for 4 non-consecutive weeks.I think Céline might remain at the top spot for another week, and who knows, with small sales but still remain on top during january, with some promotion and those specials on France 2 and France 3. mike_z Posted December 26, 2012 at 08:47 PM Posted December 26, 2012 at 08:47 PM I have the chart run, Mike: You're the best! Thank you!!I wonder what the numbers would have been! I know it debuted selling around 125k. But we have to take into consideration it was also a "Goldman" album, now JJG is Céline's competition, and she's still slaying! Even though it's one of my least favorite songs from the album, I have to admit the Hallyday duet released as a single would do wonders to the album's sales during the first months of 2013. Quote
LuisMa Posted December 26, 2012 at 08:59 PM Posted December 26, 2012 at 08:59 PM You're welcome. Yeah I'd love to know the numbers for all those weeks, but that's hard to find. I got this about her 4th week on the French chart: If we compare it to Sans Attendre's showing on the charts, the new one is really kicking butt. 2 Quote

Besides, JH is a huge star in France and with him Celine could have a go at scoring her 6th #1 single in France. Quote
Javito Posted December 26, 2012 at 09:00 PM Posted December 26, 2012 at 09:00 PM Just two things to add: 1. 3rd single and video ASAP please! 2. Ermmm Sony... are you hearing this sales? Special edition of the album should be released, maybe? Wow! and unlike D'elles, 1F&4T was released around the same time of the year.I wonder why on Wikipedia it says it sold around 2.5 million copies worldwide. That must be wrong! Although it was available in many more countries. Quote
Javito Posted December 26, 2012 at 09:06 PM Posted December 26, 2012 at 09:06 PM (edited) Sony and Céline's team will be seriously blind and deaf if they don't release a new single AND videoclip, after all this great news. That must be wrong! Although it was available in many more countries. There is another page called celinedioncharts.com that has an estimate of approximately 1.4 million copies, which is more like it. Wikipedia is not that reliable, as anybody can edit the information to their convenience. I once read that Thalía had sold 200 million copies worldwide. 1 Quote
