New English Album - "Water and a Flame" (Pre-Release Thread Part 1)

Now, what I've found is that If You Asked Me Too (original version by Patty Labelle) was a Bond song too I didn't know that

 

It wasn't the official Bond theme song for the film though, it just appeared on the soundtrack.

I think its appropriate to include some of the vegas songs on her new english album, but celine's management should also consider the additional new songs to make everything fresh for celine's career.

I watched my DVD of the TC studio sessions last night and I just can't wait for Celine to get back in the studio and explore each and every song again. I really hope they film the recording sessions 'cause I wanna see how Celine talks about her return to the industry after almost 5 years without releasing a new album.

CELINE DION is recording a song I just wrote (with Andy Hollander) called Always Be Your Girl. It's a great story, how it all happened, and I really do love this for her. (and for me, let's be honest. I mean, HELLO. Las Vegas.)

 

I am gonna give you a little preview of the song and tell you all about the phone call I got from her hubby at my show in NYC at Rockwood Music Hall on Thurs, Dec 8th at 9pm. Am excited to do a trio gig with Andy and the phenomenal Jon Graboff on pedal steel.  

 

So who will be there to hear the preview? I'll bet she will be singing it and not Celine but I don't care haha

I have no idea of the concept that is going to make this next album, but I got the feeling that it's going to be something in the style of Let's Talk About Love with a more modern taste.

Darren, I don't quite agree with you on this one. After watching how the X-Factor has progressed this season, Gary is coming out to be an @$$ and I'm wondering who really was the reason behind the break-up of Take That for all those years.

 

 

On a side note, a little birdie told me that there is indeed a new album slated for release during Spring/Summer 2012 along with a re-release of the Titanic OST

Yeah, they are and it'll be around March to promote the 3D. Not sure if it'll just be the same or some added tracks, but from what I got, MHWGO will be 'featured heavily'. Not sure what that means though. I'll write more once I get more info.

Hes trying to fill Simon's shoes and sources says hes ''acting the part'' with most of his phrases/feedback scripted.. its not the eal Gary.

His songwriting is what we are talking about here, and that is amazing!

True, but look how weak the Gary Barlow-penned Matt Cardle's song 'Run For Your Life' is. If that is what his song-writing has become, I'd rather not have any from him. Maybe he can come up with something good again, who knows, but its still weird that we don't know any names of the songwriters yet

No, they are not stupid, at least, I don't think they are as stupid as to do such a thing. Beauty and the Beast was different, it was not as big as My Heart Will Go On. I don't think they'll do it since Celine's voice has already become part of the movie eventough it's just played at the end.

It's been 5 long years.....2012 can't come fast enough!

a page earlier we already discovered this, Dana Perish was called by Rene himself that they choose her song. So yes that is exciting news indeed! however, can it be that since we here have been so negative about the upcoming album that was supposed to be full with Vegas covers, that they postponed the project and focused on a more interesting cd and focusing more on her career?

Or maybe not only our opinion of course, but can it be that Rene and the productionteam had second thoughts about the Vegas-covercd, and instead making a fresh new album with talented writers and composers ? :-).. how wonderful would it be to have a 16 track album, just like in the old days, with songs ala Miles Before I sleep, us, the reason... aaaa... I sooooo want this new album!

So it seems there's nothing specific yet, beside the "Always Be Your Girl" song. I'm OK with the covers, but I hope there's a concept and brand new songs in this album, not just a random stuff just to put something out, as mentioned.

I think Celine should cover the subject of motherhood. It's a subject that she's touched upon very little in her discography, shows, and interviews.

Celine only talks about her family now a days on tv and in the press, and I've had enough kid songs: in this current show, A new day... and the Miracle album.

I wish she had the same rule for showbiz: no showbiz @ home... so no or very little private life in her music, thats what I call a balance and fair I think
