Exactly!!! She is at a certain age, I think recording the theme song for a JB movie would be fantastic for the kind of star she is right now, it would feet her current image perfectly. Nice idea guys.

I think Adele is doing the new bond movie song this time round...

 

I mentioned to my sony uk contacts a year before the last bond movie that the directors/producers were looking for someone to sing the song for that movie and they to were excited and passed the info. along, but obviously for what ever reason it never happened... and in my eyes the main decision makers again made the wrong decision by not following this up, as the song was open to anyone at that stage, so maybe one day who knows they might shock us and make a decision that benefits the fans and Celine's career... but to be honest unless these decision makers change their thinking/listen to fans or go, we all have better chances winning the lottery and being millionaires!!!

 

It really fcuks me off as I've tried and done my bit on more than one occassion, so in my opinion I've the right to complain on this matter...

I don't really think it would make any difference in Celine's career In the other hand, it would have been great for the movie to have it's song sang by Celine Specially knowing that none of theirs soundtracks has been as important as the first one, with the original Bond theme...

And that's probably the reason why Celine hasn't recorded any JB theme yet, she might respect that music very much, just like she hasn't recorded her own version of Whitney Houston's classic I Will Always Love You.

I think the JB medley is a way of Céline saying, she's ready to do a bond song!

I think it would be fabulous if Celine had a hit again purely because she comes out with a good song that deserves to be a hit - she shouldn't need movies, cars, perfumes or whatever to sell her music. The music should sell itself. If it's good enough it will sell.

 

Did "I'm Alive" really need to wait for "Stuart Little 2" to be released before Sony were comfortable releasing it as a single? Would the "One Heart" album ever have happened if it wasn't for the Chrysler deal?

 

I think it would be great if Celine did a Bond song one day, I just think it's depressing how we seem to be saying that unless she does she won't have a hit again.

 

I'd rather Celine didn't have a hit single again if it means we won't have to endure cheap (pointless) movie tie ins, albums being plastered with car manufacturer logos or being offered perfumes samples if I buy the single.

Where did you hear this? I'm intrigued by the title of the song... sounds very young... The first thing I thought of was "Always Be My Baby" by Mariah.

It's the most famous, but Dolly's version of the song was already extremely famous before Whitney ever sang it. And Dolly deserves credit — she wrote it. And while Whitney's has the best vocals, Dolly's is by far the most heartfelt.

How can you say that? Shirley Bassey became a HUGE star because of her 3 Bond theme songs: Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever & Moonraker If Celine did one she would definitely have worldwide attention again!

Well, actually, she was pretty famous before that by singing Climb Every Mountain and some other songs... And she was ahuge star in the UK already. She became huge in USA after Goldfinger, wich is different

 

But what I said is that soundtracks (no particular song or artist) from JB haven't been as successful as, for example, The Bodyguard or Titanic

 

Now, what I've found is that If You Asked Me Too (original version by Patty Labelle) was a Bond song too I didn't know that

 

Several of the later films have alternative theme songs, often during the closing credits. The Living Daylights (1987) featured The Pretenders performing "If There Was a Man," composed by John Barry with Chrissie Hynde. Licence to Kill has "If You Asked Me To" sung by Patti Labelle.

Don't know if the news about Rahman was posted before, anyway, I found some more about Rahman ( see my last post here):

 

apparently Rahman was asked by Celine herself to compose the songs, and the songs should have been performed during her tour ( which must be the new Vegas show), because the source speaks about March 15th, which was the opening of her new show. Those two songs should have been performed in the new show and would come on the new album, as it says here, the songs seem to be songs that could be very popular:

But this was... hum... like 40 years ago. Nowadays Bond Theme songs don't have impact on the charts. In all honestly who cares about Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" or Jack White & Alicia Keys' "Another Way to Die" ?
