OMFG! What a hassle it has been to get hold of this album! but in the end it is ALL worth! MON DIEU! Céline is back!!

1. Parler A Mon Pere

Funny how this song makes sense now, after hearing the full album! It's still not the best song, but it is the best song to start off with! Of course it could have been produced better, but still a good opener.

2. Le Miracle

It sounds to me like an 80's song! In a positive way! Didn't expect the background choir! The medley is quite catching! I can't wait to see the video clip, I hope it will the support the song better than PAMP did.

3. Qui Peut Vivre Sans Amour?

OK! WOW! Who expected this?! I love it!! So much anger in the song! Awesome! I really hope she'll sing this live at least once! Maybe something I expected from Calogero, but not Céline! Welcome to 2012 Céline! :-D Too bad it's only a bit one off.. but I am keeping my hopes up for a full rock album, one day...

4. L'Amour Peut Prendre Froid

Better than I expected, not a total scream song... though it might have should have been! LOL Though like Jeroen said, never cared for Johnny, never will! But hopefully it'll give her some street credit again in France.

5. Attendre

Love the music, the violins, the melody of the words! Very intriguing song! It's more like a poëm than a song! I kept fearing Céline would get out of breath! LOL

6. Une Chance Qu'on S'A

Beautiful song! I just noticed how pretty it is! It was OK on SLP, but it never stood out for me. JP sounds better than i expected! Very good climax! And thank god she sang this duet while he was still alive!

7. La Mer Et L'Enfant

How French! Love the sound of the ocean in the beginning! They mixed up the lyrics in the booklet... She never did anything like this before! I sounds more like a song from a 'caberet' show.

8. Moi Quand Je Pleure

Interesting melody. Sounds like an old French song! Don't like it when she sings breathy like this though.

The song gets stronger as it goes. Love the music! The flèches, flashs are back after 27 years! LOL Great ending!

9. Celle Qui M'A Tout Appris

Very sweet tribute. Powerful melody, nice humming at the end. But maybe together with Tant de temps the only real filler on the album.

10. Je N'Ai Pas Besoin D'Amour

Very sweet melody, very touching. Though the chorus bits are a bit weird in comperison of the rest. Music could have been a bit more bombastic over all. Sweet ending. Good song, though a bit less than I expected.

11. Si Je N'Ai Rien De Toi Wrong lyrics encore! A bit rocky too! DIdn't expect that either. Sounds very French. Love it! Like the dark atmosphere. Great chorus with an unexpected ending!

12. Que Toi Au Monde

Gorgeous! Love the music, her voice.... I think Luc still has it!! I wonder how the song he wrote, that got rejected sounds though! A great love song of an (almost?) broken hearted!

13. Tant De Temps

Very nice melody. Henri sounds better than I remember him! It's a bit boring though, it doesn't really go anywhere. It reminds me a bit of Skies of LA.

14. Les Petits Pieds De Léa

Very sweet hommage to a still born child. I can imagine she had a hard time singing this song. La Berceuse part deux.

But enough childern songs now Céline!!!

15. Ne Me Quitte Pas

What can I say? I loved it since I first saw it in Vegas in March 2011. I love we have an album version now! (Kinda makes me want the other Vegas songs in album versions now too!) Her voice is powerful! It could have been sung in an even lower key though! I am happy Céline sang this classic! It still has the emotion of the first time she sang it. Good climax!

16. Les Jours Comme Ça

Why is this a bonus track? A very good uptempo song! (Maybe one thing the album is lacking a bit...) Good melody and great lyrics about every day life! Bit cheap ending though. Could have been better.

Overall!

A great consistant album, which surpases D'Elles in many levels IMO! It has a sound Céline never had before. I don't find the lack of high notes annoying. Some notes could have been a bit bigger, but after 31 years of big notes, a 'normal' album is a good change too! WAAF will have big notes anyway. It has some beautiful hommages to her dad, her mom, her René, her still born child. Also great songs about the everlasting LOVE, life and the existance of human beings. Céline sounds amazing! Not goathy or nasal at all. IMO! Much better than D'Elles (softer, smoother)/ the TCWT anyway! Plus it sounds to me, that she pronounces the words the right way.

An Album she can be proud of! A lot of songs she should take on the road! Not as Celine Dion, but as Céline, la p'tite fille! To me this album sounds more like songs from a stage play, a caberet show, than a pop album! It would be heaven if she did a small venue show with these songs... but against all hopes, that will be wishfull thinking...

Agains odds too, I like the drawings. They add to the songs! I was hoping it, but at least that's true.

She did an awesome shoot and hopefully we'll see those pix used on merchandise and in the show program,

but in the end, Aurore did a good job! Too bad the deluxe edition didn't contain the 5 coin on the cover though.

I would give Sans Attendre a 8,5 out of 10!

btw... of course peeps I have TAST already! Like 10 versions.... I didn't have this one (from 2008 on Sony Music) so that was worth buying it out of frustration! :giggle:

Funny that they noticed the errors in the booklets so soon now...will we get new ones for Unison, TCOML, LTAL too? :P And good thinking they added the NMQP lyrics too!

My top 5 songs, random order, after first listen:

Quelle Retour de Celine! Her voice is better than ever. Silent and strong put forward songs. 2, 3 real pearls. Finally she dares what. La mer et l'entfant ... Moi quand per pleure ... ne me quitte pas - and the feel-good-song Miracle. Perhaps it will never be the most popular album of Celine. But perhaps the bravest. The more I listen, the better I like it. before they showed their skills in loud and hight notes. This time she invite us, to move closer - and it's wonderfull. Celine can bring sparkle to a small sound like diamonds.

That's what I thought!!!

Noticed that not only some lyrics are different, but the booklets on celinedion.com have new drawings that are not in the booklets I have...

Hope that later editions will have the good booklets!

Still hoping for a edition with DVD!!! They could use behind the scenes from the recordings AND the 2 tv specials!!!!! That would be heaven!!

translation to the best of my capaity........

the great songs and there is some strong ones mixed some previsible ones, not to say ordinary , pale in comparison.

This is the trap of a choral album, where authors and compositors are not equally6 gifted, but that the the singer put to a good light. René angelil told us recently that he has to find still the equivalent of Jean-Jacques Golman in english. Maybe it could be a good time to find one as prolific for the french too who can be the equivalent in talent to Celine singing voice, to give her a more actual direction and push her to surpass herself. Here are our impressions of Sans attendre, songs by songs, after listening ti it ten times.

Parler à mon père:

a custom made pop song for Celine. A first extract who was not a locomotive for the album.

Le miracle:

Catchy pop song, that you can hum to the first listening, but the charm can wear down pretty fast.

Qui peut vivre sans amour:

An orchestral power ballad. It is good to hear Celine bite into a rock song even if the guitar solo is a little bit outdated.

L'amour peut prendre froid:

the mixture of Celine and Johnny voice is intense and give relief on this previsible american song, adapted by Christophe Mossec. One of the good surprise on this album.

Attendre:

A flood, what do i say, a tsunamiof lazy rhymes on agreed music. Sans attendre would have benn better without Attendre( easy)

Une chance qu'on s'a:

The jewel by Ferland that Celine sing with him with a stong voice with subtlety. A song really above the others.

La mer et l'enfant:

I expected more from this song that was supposed to give the special color to the album. A text well written but expected from Grand Corps Maladeon a very sweet music. It is surprising that no one noticed the wrong accord on cicatrices, blessures with the participe passé écrits.

Celle qui m'a tout appris:

the writer Nina Bouraoui who has written two of the best songs from d'elles, goes bach to work with this title, tailor made just for Celine also . Better written than Parler à mon père even it is the same Veneruso who have composed the music. One of the best song of the album.

Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour:

An extradinory text and a sensible interpretation from Celine who sing a little bit like Ferland. A love song with a big L.

Si je n'ai rien de toi:

A song about love and glory. Catchy melody, current facture and the energy of the singer help to put at rest some french twitch(hollywood boulevard)

Que toi au monde:

A very stong love song about a soldier going to war. A little melo, but with smart orchestration but also well served by an interpret who gave fragility and emotions that we feel very near. An another song to remark

Les petits pieds de Lea:

A simple song who takes almost the same role as La berceuse from Jeanette Bertrand on D'Elles. Except that the subject is even more touching and sensible, the death of an unborn child.

Tant de temps:

Beatiful song. A posthum song by the great Henri Salvador, very different from the bossa-nova version from his album previoulsy published this year. The arrangement agree magnificately with this duo between Celine and the man with the velvet voice.

Sorry for the mistakes, i have don the best i can....

I don't know what it is, but there's something about this album that makes me feel ever so slightly emotional! lol.

I feel like I've rediscovered why I think so much of her, all over again - I am beyond pleased with this record. I think she should be enormously proud of this - she's proven she still has IT, whatever IT is.

Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

Merci ! The review from La Presse is really only someone's opinion. La Presse has always been a bit hard with Céline since they're more intellectual. It's normal. Who wrote that though ?

I'm still loving this album though and I can't wait to have it in my hands on Monday !!!!!! :maniac:

You don't understand how much you need...

by the way - my point is not specifically FOR JJG, just AGAINST Veneruso.

So after listening some more times, I have to say that here are my favs:

1. Attendre - excells in all sides. the only song with proper lyrics, not too saccarine but still very meaningful, nice arrangments, nice way

of expressing the song.um so

2. Moi, quand je pleure - the second one that has these same criteria (BTW Davey I had same feeling about Flech, Flash :) )

3. Si je n'ai rien de toi - It is a nice song, the ending is cool her vocals are great! I have a problem with the lyrics, they are too simple for a french album for me. otherwise all great.

4. Qui peut vivre sans amour -This song is good but I think it was recorded on a bad time for Celine. you can feel her effort and her straining of the vocal chords when she sings some notes. lyrics status is the same as #3.

5. Ne me quitte pas - Just because this song is amazing. Having said that, it doesn't feel like it belongs in the album so I don't tend to listen to it...

Since this topic is about an album, does anyone know how many albums Celine has sold worldwide?

I was just wondering, cuz i know she won an award or got recognized for most album's sold by a female artist and i wanted to know if she still holds that title.

I know I don't need JJ to enjoy and appreciate an album -_-

I love the album!!!

She did an amazing job again! I think she sounds very strong and powerfull!

My favorites are:

Parler a mon pere

Le Miracle

Qui peut vivre sans amour

Attendre

Moi quand je pleure

Celle qui m'a tout appris

Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour

Si je n'ai rien de toi

Que toi au monde

Les petits pieds de Lea

Ne me quitte pas :in_love:

Le jours comme ca

So almost all of them exept for the duets... :whistling1: . I just don't like duets much.

But from the 3 duets on the album I like Une chance qu'on s'a the most. Just because Celine sounds amazing :line:

She did an amazing job!! Again :yahoo:

Are you implying that you're in position to tell people how much they need JJG in an album? I have to say I don't miss him, despite the fact that I respect him as a songwriter/musician and love the songs he offered Celine.

You might dislike Veneruso, but the 3 francophone hits Celine had the past 12 years were all his songs. :P I'm saying this cause I remember you once stated ''Veneruso is the worse thing that could happen to her''. Having successful songs, embraced by fans and critics alike can't be bad, let alone the worst thing that could happen to an artist.

By the way, there is no straining in Que peut vivre sans amour. She kept a neutral larynx throughout the song. Just had one raspy note in the end which has nothing to do with her placement.

I get the feeling you're posting affirmative statements (like thinking what you're saying is a fact and right) instead of simply stating your opinion, hence I address this comment to you.

@LukeD Exactly my thoughts, Mrs. Goldman has a very "uncomfortable" way of saying things.
