It's very nice to read anyone's review. I hope everybody does it I've been listening heavily to this album in the last few days and I have to admit that more I listen to it it's just like getting greater and greater!

 

My TOP 5 at the moment goes like this:

I went to the center city to search for the cd, but it was nowhere to be found!!

 

I was so desperate that i bought this...

 

 

Now I hope the deluxe will come in the post today! But my bf will get the jewel case for me in another city anyway, just in case!

 

Didn't you have the Christmas album yet? I still want the one with the dvd of the TATST concert !

Just got the album!!! Only €13.99 in HMV Cork. They had no deluxe editions, but I've got that on order from HDWOW anyway. It'll be something to look forward to. On my way home now to fall in love.

Not being a French speaker I wasn't sure, but I definitely noticed that the lyrics to "Si je n'ai risen de toi" seemed to be all over the place. As a collector I'm quite happy to have a dodgy booklet.

So after a few days of intense listening I made up my mind. This is my list from fave to least fave.

 

Attendre

- A good poppy song and her soft notes are soaring. And the song is building up so nicely. Just the way I like it. Perfect.

 

Je N'ai Pas Besoin D'amour

- So much emotion. And I absolutely love her croaky voice in this song. Fits well. And the chorus does not make sense compared to the other parts but that makes it inneresting imo.

 

Une Chance Qu'on S'a

- Love it since they first sang it together long time ago. Glad to have it as a record now. I normally do not care for old men voices but he is just amazeballs. Pure emotions form him. The woman however is way too technical on this. Let go beyotch!

 

Si Je N'ai Rien de Toi

- Nice attempt to make the album a bit different, but in the end it's all about the note. I love how they build up the song here too. Though the ending is abrupt.

 

Que Toi Au Monde

- Beautiful, she keeps it simple yet she puts a lot of emotion in it. But they could’ve put more in it, music wise.

 

Ne Me Quitte Pas

- It’s half half for me. The first part is very goaty and emotionless. It gets a bit better in the seoncd part but then in the end when she goes a bit lower and adds her fake tears it gets better. Especially the scary low note that made my Halloween better is just ace.

 

Qui Peut Vivre Sans Amour

- I agree with Perez, it is a good song, and the ‘other’ attempt to make it edgy is kind of there. The bad part is that the guitars are way in the background. Not working, sir, not working. Instead they used her voice to impersonate an electric guitar…

 

Les Petits Pieds de Lea

- Just amazing, I’d say. She sounds soft, keeps it soft and smooth and I am sure the writer is very happy with it. But to me it seems that she got a good taste of making another French Lullaby after she whispered Berceuse on D’elles.

 

Les Jours Comme Ça

- Weird choice to end the album with, however it is a nice catchy song and should be a follow up single or something.

 

Moi Quand Je Pleure

- Gives me a French feeling. Not a bad thing. The melody is nice but something is off. I absolutely love the ending.

 

Celle Qui M'a Tout Appris

- Old-fashioned album filler. Nothing new, nothing special. Forgettable.

 

Tant de Temps

- The French attempt of making a new ‘All The Way’. It’s a nice thought but it puts the album down 3 knock by keeping it so damn old-fashioned. There are gazillions of instrument to make it more current. But no. Not her team.

 

Le Miracle

- I hate children. With all my heart. And hearing them on an album bugs me even more. Unfortunately I do listen to it and it keeps stuck in me head. Yikes.

 

Parler A Mon Pere

- Yea a good song, but her voice sounds like Miracle-Vegas-ihaveapotatoinmythroat-Disaster. Not nice at all y’all.

 

La Mer et l'Enfant

- Nasal and pure snoooooooooooooooooze. The only positive things I hear are the waves.

 

Whatever the Johhny duet might be, don't care for him. Didn't hear it either.

I still stand by my statement that the album is indeed old-fashioned. But I like that idea. But the problem is that they could have done much more production wise. The duet with JPF is old-fashioned yet it sounds timeless. They failed at the same ‘idea’ with the dead guy.

Plus the ‘edgier’ songs seem like they are done in such a rush, they could’ve tried at least to add more to them. Some songs remind me of Helene Segara’s ‘Quand l’Eternite’ album, yet that production is way better. Maybe I need HQ but it just doesn’t seem to work for me. But in general her voice sounds really good and versatile and that was the only thing I was worried about, as she is lately turning into a hit or miss artist.
