I've just got back from London. It was absolutely fantastic. I've put everything in a spoiler tag so I don't give away too much:

Firstly, the opening sequence was superb. They had the IDAN intro video, with clips of Celine walking out to the stage, and getting ready under the stage. Then IDAN itself, was amazing. Her live vocals were great, the high note better than the playback. I loved how they showed footage from all over the world for this song (and PQTME) but I think the vocals were taken from one place, probably Boston or Montreal, where she sang the playback songs live.

And talking of playback songs live, The Power of Love was incredible. They only showed the last 20 seconds, but I almost cried hearing it. She hit that note and sustained it all the way. It was possibly the best live TPOL high note in her career in my opinion  . That note made me so proud being a Celine fan, as looking back at early 90s performances, and Brunei, none of them were as good as this. I guess we should be grateful that Celine does lip these songs, because this is the result of good voice preservation. Go Celine!! Similarly, IACBTMN was great, and MHWGO was fab. I liked the fact that she didn't completely copy the playback by going slightly higher at the end of each line. It sounded much more 90s, which was nice. However, I'm thinking that she didn't sing TLYM live (or maybe didn't manage it very well) cos I'm pretty sure we heard the normal playback. Oh well, we have been spoilt enough with all these live performances so I can't complain!

The also showed clips of I Got The Music In Me and A Song For You, which sounded great. They had tonnes of footage from every single concert, not just Boston and Montreal. I really liked the structure of the documentary, cos they showed concert performances spaced out throughout the film, which were fab. Also, during the around the world footage, they had instrumentals in the background, which sounded great.

The footage from around the world was stunning. So many amazing and emotional moments. I cringed when they were in Japan and Rene told the stewardess on the bullet train to keep the change for their food, as they NEVER accept tips. So the woman kept refusing but eventually she accepted. Other funny moments: about 50 suitcases outside their hotel in Paris, Celine filling a whole car with designer clothes after some late night shopping, RC in the car after Celine gets Legion d'Honeur, Celine sorting out the bodyguards, Celine and the celery :giggle: , the whole Prague thing with the opening line - hilarious!

However, the funniest moment of all is when the Italian fan (the girl who kisses Celine in the trailer) meets Celine before the show. She starts hyperventilating and has to take her inhaler - and that was before they even spoke :sofunny: . She was completely overwhelmed. Everyone in the cinema was laughing at that. They showed her again in the audience towards the end and everyone remembered her and laughed again!

The film only lasted 2 hours, it felt like a lot more. They spent quite a while covering Celine's illness in the US. The cameras looking at her throat etc. Then they showed the ABM high note from Phoenix, but this really annoyed me cos it was playback, and so it sounded better than the live note from Montreal we've seen on YouTube. I wish they could have made it sound really raw, but I guess most people wouldn't really notice this. I have a tendancy of over-analysing playbacks. :-D

So overall it was amazing. My mum LOVED it. She now wants to see a Celine concert :w00t: :w00t: I think we'll all be going to Vegas next year!

I saw it in Sydney last night, it was AWESOME to me, I absolutely cannot wait for the DVD. (and also the DVD of the actual tour dammit).

I literally loved every second of it, it was so well edited and put together. My cinema was about 40% full which is pretty good for my area (its not the centre of Sydney so not as busy), there were more people than I expected. And everyone seemed to really enjoy it.

Great movie! Favorite moment was when Celine and Rene are in their car and finally arrive home and Rene is sleeping... Celine singing "My love we are finally home, time to unbuckle and get out of the car" to wake him up. Good stuff! Only 6 people in the theater though... almost like a prive viewing hehe ;)

I LOVED this part!!!

The theater we were in last night was pretty large... but only 28 people. And I was the youngest by far.

Can you describe Celine's reactions during the movie premiere? I want to know all the little things that happened inside the theater. :-D

I saw the movie last night. The theater was 100% full (almost half and hour before it began). People laughed a lot throughout the movie(so did I of course) and on other time you could hear a pin drop. At the end people applauded. Like many of you I thought it was amazing and it reminded me why I love Céline SO much, as a singer, as a performer but also as a human being. I was with my mom who started crying at one point all through the end. :giggle: I want to see it again for sure. I think I'll go next week. What a great DVD to look forward too.

Another great review :

The snow's got even heavier - everything is completely covered now!

I just hope the trains are still running OK.

Hope you can get to the cinema tonight... But... maybe it'll be safier to stay warm at home. Céline can wait, security comes first.

The hell with that! You get out there even if you have to round up the neighbourhood dogs and tie them to that lawnmower of yours like a sleigh!

(Don't forget though, there's always Sunday Tim. That's the show my sister's going to!)

I imagine the decision has already been made anyway, I await your review Timster.

i like when you said "to hell with that". of course i'd go, a hurricane couldn't stop me! let alone a bit of snow but then of course we're from canada where we know how to deal with snow very well. always equipped. nothing fazes us :sofunny: :w00t:

When the guy at the box office printed out my ticket he took a step back when he saw the ticket price ($16) I told him it was a limited engagement.

Btw :welcome: mkgenie!

Mine were $15 :P

But the guy definitely judged the you-know-what out of me when I walked up with two girls and my Fandango ticket in hand with a big smile :w00t:

HAHAHA the exact same thing happened to me!! i bought tickets for the opening night because i wasn't sure how the tickets would sell. turns out, i didn't need to buy the tickets in advance at all, so when i showed up with my 3 fandango printed tickets, there was definitely some serious judgment. hahaha

you know all these review and stuff is kind of like teasing to the people / fans that can't see the movie lol haha

Courage don't you dare fail me now!

Only four people in the theatre including one dog, lol!

I'm not so sure anymore if I agree about the singing under the playbacks. It sounded so clear, but really all the songs did. I think they took audio of one concert, and used it for most of them. In PQTME, and IDAN, songs where multiple cities were shown, there was no difference really in how any of the sound sounded. It all sounded like one performance. And the audience was completely silent until the ending.....sounds like dubbing. And I can definitely say that in TPOL scene she was not singing it. She had the over-active jaw where she pretended she was doing vibratto and had the other tendencies. Those vocals either came from Montreal/Boston or the studio where the new playback was made.

Anyway......... I loved IAMW performance. RDMH was actually slightly shortened... but nothing was cut out that actually matters. Just the ending where she sings the same part twice, they cut it down to one. I absolutely love how they edited The Prayer! It actually looked like both of them were on the stage at the same time. TSMGO was great, but I don't think the ending credits was actually studio version... It sounded like another live performance as she was talking in the middle of it. I loved how she changed the lyrics of My Love inside the car... "My love....we're finally home, you can unbuckle your seatbelt..." lol ... The scene with RC singing We Will Rock You was hilarious. He'll be a star someday! And in DUAM I spotted anoooooother karate kick!

The only negatives is....no Think Twice, Alone, Taking Chances...and like someone else said...it didn't go into a ton of depth, although it was very good!

I was thrilled that about 40% of the film was in French! Le français me manque plus fort que jamais!

I'm not really that surprised that some people are saying that the theatres are not full. It's probably better that the dates for the shows are limited. I'm sure the DVD will do really well when it comes out.

It's no surprise at all the cinemas aren't full. I'm sure that's why they charge $16 - to cover the people that won't be there. Let's face it, there's a limited market for one artist's music, even if she's the best selling female artist of all time.

As I sat in the cinema I though, "I'm glad I'm the only one here that KNOWS the lyrics to "Dans un autre monde"!

I live in a town in Ohio that most, if not all of you, have never heard of. I saw the film tonight ... and was surprised that in this small town ... there were around 25 people in the theater. (and this was the second night of its release). I'm sure this will be considered a huge success!

it was absolutely breath-taking ... well worth the wait!!

i'll also be going back tomorrow!

I saw the film tonight and really liked it. I will say however, I was disappointed there wasn't more behind the scenes stuff included. I was hoping to see more of what they did on their off days especially on safari and on the yacht. I sometimes don't think Celine's management understands that the fans really want to see the behind the scenes stuff. They might think it's boring but we don't! Let's hope there is a huge extended version of the film when it comes out on DVD! :thumbsup2:

Rene is very funny too! Hecracked me up at the animal refuge - Celine walked right in without hesitating and Rene was like, "Uh, I don't know about this!" :sofunny:

Celine's house is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! :jawdrop: Everyone around me in the theater gasped when they showed them walking in.

Can't wait to buy it on DVD!

I saw it tonight and I'll def go see it again. Wow, it brought back so many great memories from all the shows I went to during the tour. Celine is just so warm, funny, & down to Earch - how can anyone NOT love her!!! I really thought they'd show more full songs but it was good because they showed a lot of her off stage, which is fun to see. She was busy when she wasn't on stage! LOL I would've liked to see more of the band & dancers (esp Miguel - hehe). I was disappointed they didn't show Fade Away because I was thrilled that she did that song since I love it so much.

Ok, who else grabbed their TC cd and played it over & over after seein the movie?? hehe

I just got back from seeing the film, and I was just blown away by it. It made me so proud and happy to be a Celine fan. I loved that there was so much French in it, and especially happy that "Dans un autre monde" was included. I'm sure I'll be seeing it again. The theater only had about 15 or 20 people, but I live in a relatively small town, so I wasn't too surprised about that. It was amazing to see Celine on the silver screen!

My theatre in Boston was 95% full...and tonight in a different theatre was about 80% full. These are big stadium rooms for about 200-250 so it was a good amount. People laughed alot during Amsterdam and the allergic reaction/botox joke. Also with the sumo wrestlers. I saw a reviewer from a newspaper taking careful notes during night one!...Can't wait to watch it for the 3rd time hahaha with all this money i can buy a ticket for Vegas!!!

The movie is absolutely amazing, beyond great !!!!! Love it so much !!!! No matter what everybody says, you must see it for yourself and enjoy it! What a magic moment !!!!

Saw it last night in Brisbane. Australia in Gold Class which was $39.00 per ticket. Totally worth it, there were about 20 people out of a 40 seat gold class cinema which isnt bad. No words for how well it was made, just brilliant. And they were my local news readers in the bit where it talked about her getting sick and cancelling in Australia!!!!

Saw it tonight only about 15 people or less in the theatre but I was okay with that. Anyways I totally loved every minute of it and I am so excited for the dvd release.

We should remember that there is a private life that we shouldn't see, i did not need to see where she was sick that just made me want to be sick and hold her hand. I'm pretty sure i said holy crap when they got to her house when she opened the door. Was that the house in Quebec the on on the island?

Thanks Celine for the great memories. I will never forget you

Would it be wrong to ask which ones were lipped/re-recorded and which ones were live? Sometimes it was hard to tell.

saw the movie tonight. a couple awkward things happened at the theatre. first off, there were only a dozen people that attended the showing. then the lights turned down, watching all these preview including one of an upcoming Shrek film that was in 3D (but no one had 3D glasses). once the feature began, it wasn't Celine . . . it was Avatar 3D (not even the very beginning, the part when the wheel chair guy has backflashes of his brother's past). so all of us went out of the theatre and a few minutes later, a manager apologized and said they would start the correct movie from the start. so we had to watch more previews and when the "correct" feature began, the house theatre lights were on. so that was kinda annoying until someone realized it 5 minutes after. plus, i know what type of sound these theatres can produce, but for some reason the volume was just too low. not the usual powerful surround sound that can fill up such a huge space. anyway, just wanted to vent here. anyone else had similar technical issues at their showing?

Wow! What can I say?!! I saw it last night in Manchester! Was amazing! I especially loved the new versions of IDAN, TPOL and MHWGO! She looked stunning, and me and my nan sang along just as we had done when we saw her at the MEN arena. MY mum said it was better than what she expected, and was really moved by Celine's music and love for her family and fans. Words cannot describe how much I loved the film and it's star!

I would love to see it if it wasn't shown in only iMax theaters around central PA. I don't have time to travel 3-5 hours to see a movie for 2 hours. It's so stupid cuz we have a theater about 40 minutes away that had the simalcast of "A New Day..." when it was shown so i thought they would have it but no luck :(

So they are releasing it onto dvd? I was under the impression it was just going to be in theaters only.
