I think that pretty much confirms that only some of the performers are going to sing ''Hall Of Fame'' songs. So we can expect a ''My loooooooooove....'' moment.

i would've thought she would've tried to be impressive due to performing on the same stage with xtina who she admires so much

What are you lamenting over, Phi? I don't understand that. The natural change coupled with the tremendous tour pressure have been sure bound to take its toll on her overall voice which doesn't say she isn't the best sounding diva out there now. She is.

This is Celine's chance to blow both Mariah AND Christina off the stage, with an amazing performance, so even though the commercial had Celine under "new hits", we can only hope that she'll actually be doing a Grammy Hall of Fame cover song(RDMH if anything). This is Celine's chance to prove to everybody that she isn't just a ballad singer, that she's much more then that(we know she is, but the public is in the dark). With just one awesome performance, she can change a lot of people's minds.

 

Europe and Canada get all of these amazing performances(The Best for example), and in the US all she does is "old fart ballads", if you don't mind my terminology. Don't get me wrong, I love her ballads as much as her uptempos/rockers, but to see her perform her ballads over and over when she's so much more then that fustrates me. Plus, I never liked My Love as a single to start with(great song, but another "safe" choice) .

 

I truly try to be postive about Celine all the time, because I love her so much, but sometimes it gets so fustrating how she, Rene and Sony are handling things. Oh, and don't get me started on if she sings a GH. At that point, she can go pack her bags and do A New Day II

But it's gonna be hard to enjoy her if Mariah and everyone else gives these show-stopping performances, and out comes Celine Dion with another ballad. It just gets fustrating sometimes, and maybe that's why i'm very critical sometimes, because I love her so much and I know she can do it.

I disagree. Did you see Christina opening the AMAs last week? She was horrible. Mariah's performance was shaky in the beginning but ended okay. We all know that Celine steps up her game when she's in the company of other performers. If she sings My Love the way she did last night on The Tonight Show, she'll wipe the floor clean with whomever else you consider her competition. The fact that Mariah and Christina are supposedly singing Hall of Fame songs tells me that they probably won't even be nominated (and if they are, they don't deserve to be). I don't see any quality to any of the material either of them released this year. Some of Celine's best work to date is on Taking Chances and this is her time to shine.

 

Nominations for Celine would mean more promo and more appearances to get her music out there. If she's snubbed in February it's because the voters haven't had the opportunity to hear her work since she's too busy singing MHWGO and BYLM on every show.
