Grammy Award Nominations Now A Tv Concert Special

 

The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its Grammy Awards presentation, has announced that for the first time, nominees for the Grammy ceremonies will be revealed in a TV concert special. The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! -- Countdown To Music's Biggest Night will be a one-hour special, broadcasting December 3rd from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles on CBS.

 

Presenters and performers will be announced shortly.

 

The public will be able to buy tickets to the event, which will benefit the Grammy Museum, which opens the same night in the same entertainment L.A. Live downtown entertainment complex as the Nokia Theatre.

 

Right after the live announcement of nominees for the 51st annual Grammy Awards, attendees will see a one-hour concert by one of the nominated acts to celebrate the museum opening.

For the first time ever, nominations for the annual GRAMMY Awards will be announced live on prime-time television, it was announced today by The Recording Academy. "The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night" is a new entertainment special that will announce nominations in at least six categories, feature performances by past GRAMMY winners, and will set the stage for the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards on Feb. 8, 2009.

 

The one-hour special will be broadcast live from Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Dec. 3 from 9–10 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS Television Network, and will also celebrate the grand opening of the GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live. Additionally, tickets to the live event will be available for sale to the public and proceeds will benefit the GRAMMY Museum. Presenters and performers will be announced shortly.

I still find it hard to believe that IACBTMN didn't win any Grammy. :mellow: Such an epic in vocals, lyrics and melody.

 

I believe it wasn't submitted so that it wouldn't cancel any votes BYLM was to receive.

"Change The World" triumphed simply bec. it was Clapton and Babyface together. BYLM could have bagged the award if it wasn't for that pairing "event".
