I think they are all gonna sing covers... or at least for Mariah they said that she'll sing a song from the ''Grammy Hall Of Fame'' list.

I'm going to be so vicious if they don't nominate her this year. And the expects are predicting she's going to be shut out again this year. :shrug: They ask her to perform or participate in events (Luther Vandross tribute) and now this years "Nomination announcement," and she does and they haven't recognized her in decade!!!!

 

If I was her and they asked me to perform at a nominations announcement and then shut me out, I'd be seriously peeved--- but hey, it's not Wednesday yet, cuz I'll be happy if shes gets just one nomination in the "Longform Music Video" Format for "A new day."

While Celine does have an amazing catelogue, and i'd love to hear her sing something she never/rarely sings, that's incredibly unlikely. Personally, i'd rather hear her sing a rockin' cover we've never heard her sing(like the way she did amazing with The Best), than another "same old, same old" performance of My Love or a lip/live to one of the boring GH.

You must be kidding me...

 

Then why the heck did she go into the recording studio to record a rendition of "Simply the Best" last year for one TV performance?

 

I'm sure she's smart enough to know that this is a very important event in honor of music history!

We need a phenomenal performance, a surprise, fire, Céline dancing, somethinh new... all others divas are surprising at each performance! We need something diferent.... but as always we'll see a clasic Céline,it's doesnt mind we all love Céline in his own, but please something new!

 

The Tina's performance was awesome but playback...

Yeah, i really don't mind at all if there's a performance. What i think is disgusting, it's when there's nothing to ear, and nothing to see... (TPOL, TLYM...)

I highly doubt she would ever agree to do this if she wasn't at least getting one nomination. Who knows, she could also be nominated next year for the Essential Collection. I believe there is a category for greatest hits albums.

 

No matter what happens, there are some pretty tough acts Celine is competing with. No doubt she'll be nominated, but winning is going to be the hard part. As I mentioned earlier, this is the perfect opportunity for her to show the actual Grammy voters what she's made of since many of them will be in attendance that night. When people see Celine live, they instantly fall in love with her. My professor told me that the final ballots are mailed on 12/17. If Celine stuns them, they will surely recognize her and check off her name. Celine worked with many people on Taking Chances, many of whom are eligible to vote (David Stewart, Kara Dioguardi, Linda Perry, Aldo Nova, Ne-Yo, Christopher Stewart). And those same people have friends who are also voters that will do them a professional favor and vote for Celine if they asked them to.

 

Just keep her in your prayers. She indisputably deserves this.

The ad here in the states shows Celine two times once saying her name and another her doing the dance for RDMH on her tv special this year.

 

 

But I agree, i think we all want her to sing something maybe a little difficult and different , something upbeat

( The best, Fade Away, RDMH, TTWII, ect.)

but i'm afraid we get an My Love, or an old old old medley, or an almost acoustic version of TC...

we did know! Cos during the rehearsals, céline wasn't there yet, we already heard Céline's version! we first didn't recognise her, but after we did, we knew it was going to be playback, but that didn't bug us at all! ooh the memories! :wub:

 

btw there was supposed to be a cd released from that night, but that never came, I think the recording was also meant for that :down:

 

 

I hope she'll sing RDMH tonight, or TSMGO :wub2:
