Where is the official BYLM video, I thought they were going to upload it, I don't understand why it never happened.

Whitney Houston's famous music videos IWALY and I Have Nothing and I Believe In You and Me don't have this problem of film rights. Her team seems to have either figured it out because Whitney was in the film or just sucked it up and paid the bill to get these huge career milestones engraved online and available to the world.

 

I am guessing they paid because I imagine an actor does not have rights to a film even if they appeared in it.

It would be a surprise. We can presume that the issue with the BYLM video is the copyright or payment, because if you recall the FIY video was already uploaded on her channel in lower quality.

No idea. But Celine clearly does. There’s no other explanation for her movie soundtrack videos not being uploaded - or even released on her official ATW video release.

But again, MHWGO has clips from the movie. If Sony doesn’t have the rights to the film clips, they can’t release them without paying the studio who does own the rights.

Different studios may have different agreements with music artists. Also, MHWGO was her major hit at the time and they could’ve still owned the rights at that point but then the rights lapsed. Same thing with TYLAM - could’ve had limited rights that expired.

 

I imagine that’s why HDAMLF and Ashes were similar and why she only sang them in the show for one year. Not only may she have had limited rights to them but the studios could’ve actually paid her to sing them in her concerts because she was essentially advertising the movies/DVD/streaming releases whenever she sang them.

YAAAAY!!! Shirts, a re-print of the 2018 vinyl missing one song and the US-tracklist CD missing TWO songs!

 

Oh! Don't forget a paragraph she wrote "herself" saying how she still loves to perform the songs from that album 25 years later. Who knows.... Maybe in 2046, when she is 78, she might sing something from Courage.....

Would be nice to see Celine singing something from the album on Grammys this week, wouldn't?

PS: It’s just a thought. I rather Celine to be safe right now than traveling to perform on a show.

I've wondered about this too.

 

It would be so huge for Celine's YouTube streams if her team could get the official My Heart Will Go On, Because You Loved Me, and Beauty and the Beast music videos uploaded onto her channel. Streaming numbers are everything today so it seems like a no-brainer that her team should prioritize this / bump it to the top of their to do list.

 

If Whitney's team managed to do it, maybe there's still hope for Celine.
