Yes that Mariah anniversary edition is cool (for the fans) but the 3 LP vinyl costs around 85 euros/100 dollars! I wonder how many people will actually buy it.

Moooriah cares more about her legacy(old stuff) because she couldn't really sell tickets, so selling her old stuff is a big part of her income. 

While Céline always sold out her shows,the grossing of her comeback residency is already higher than that of Moooriah's entire career...😆 so I guess as long as she can perform on stage for her fans and make a s*** load of money, she couldn't care less about selling her albums,old or new... 

And I don’t think Céline doesn't care about her legacy, it's just that she really is someone that never looks back,she always focuses on what she can do at the moment.She needs a great manager that is actually a fan to care for her legacy,oh,how I miss René...

As for Sony,of course they couldn't care less about Celine,because since Céline started her first residency in Vegas,she stopped being the biggest cash cow for Sony, she became the cash cow of AEG and herself.

Mariah is a singer, songwriter who thrives in the studio. Most of her albums are very carefully crafted, much attention paid to production, backing vocals, layers and so on. She is an architect. So, artistically, it makes sense that she cares about the re-releases of her old material. 

Financially, it also makes sense because her last album to cross 1m copies worldwide was released in 2009, a good 17 years ago. Nobody buys her new music and that is a fact. She has also been discredited as a live performer. To make good money out of touring is not an option for her. Especially considering how she seems to be struggling on stage. Therefore, she relies on selling her back catalogue, which pretty much explains why she dresses as Santa every year and why her re-releases are so comprehensive and thorough. 

Celine, on the other hand, is a singer, performer, who has basic involvement in the studio, as she chooses to trust others to help put her albums together. Her true passion is to perform. And she is at a stage in her career where she can make a short video, disseminate it through social media, and get 9m people register for a small tour that is estimated to gross more than 200m. It is also important to note that whenever she released new music, there was an audience to buy it. Unlike Mariah, Celine released million selling albums in 2012, 2013, 2016 and Courage would have been up there if it was not for the pandemic and SPS. This makes Celine a lot more focused on the present, and this comes at the expense of putting more effort when it comes to her back catalogue. Truth be told, she has done the bare minimum to push it. 

Of course, she could remain focused on the present and still do more with the anniversary editions of her old albums. One does not have to exclude the other, but I guess we cannot have the best of both worlds. That said, I am not jealous of Mariah's fans. I think us, Celine fans, have it better.

While I agree with your post and sentiment about nearly everything you said…. 
 

Celine until recently, wasn’t even sure that the dream to return to the stage was going to be possible… she’s been out of the spotlight since early 2020 due to the pandemic and then SPS… it’s been 6 years nearly 7 by the time Paris residency takes place, what stopped her team to make sure that the fans were fed? I understand she was battling for her life, but what about everyone else?

Let’s not forget up until the announcement of SPS and then for a long time after until the documentary was announced and the Grammys appearance and vogue cover, we couldn’t even get a basic message to thank us for support or something worthwhile to show their appreciation.  We received the “Love Again” movie which was filmed prior and the most shitty Album in “I am: Celine Dion”…. (Don’t get me started with that) 🤣 

All of this to say, they could’ve done more, they should’ve done more, 7 years ago, and still today. And it’s beginning to feel like a “choice”’for them, why put in effort when they know fans will eat it up if they don’t have to lift a finger? People as crappy as this is to say, those of us who aren’t happy… shouldn’t buy it. 
 

I haven’t bought anything since “Courage” album and tour.

I think this is because she had released an album in 2019, then they released the 'Love Again' soundtrack in 2023, and the documentary in 2024, so I am assuming that in their heads they were active. I say this because legacy acts like Madonna and Mariah, for example, release new music every 6 to 7 years or so. So, in a way, Celine could afford to release an album in 2027, considering the mini releases in between this album and Courage. I am feeling that their approach has been to keep us somewhat warm but focused on what is coming up - almost as if they send the message ''look ahead because Celine is going to release a full length album and tour, this is not over, we are not at the phase where to be paying too much attention to the back catalogue and rely on it''. This is how I am reading the whole thing. I think it is an approach that does not sit well with us, I do not think they are being incompetent here. In other aspects, sure they are.

I understand the frustrating circumstances we’re in for the lack of creativity Sony does for Celine’s career and the amount of zero shits Celine gives regarding rarities etc. BUT what I will say is where Celine lacks in that department (and Mariah excels) Celine delivers the goods in person ; ie live when she hits the stage.  Even Mariah’s latest underneath the stars studio video lol.  My god she’s so mentally incapacitated it’s really not funny.  And have you seen her live performances ?  She can’t be bothered to move.  In the end I’ll take what Celine gives us on stage any day over Mariah’s 987 remixes of fantasy Anyday.  That being said a lesson or ten could be learned in unboxing some archives and older stuff for fans

Just out of pure curiosity I would LOVE to hear what Celine would create if there wasn't a record company with ideas. And if she had the skills with technology like Ariana, Raye to create it all by herself on a laptop 🤣

I’d love Céline’s team to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the amazing Falling Into You Tour in early 1997 with a vinyl release of « Live In Memphis » that would also include some extra songs recorded in Zurich (like they did with USF containing songs recorded in Paris). Something like this :
