... will they ever release BYLM music video...i know you are saying that there will be copyrights or something and that Céline doesn't own rights. Okay i get that..but she also released Ashes which has clips from Deadpool 2, she released TYLAM which has clips from the movie. I don't get it.

why don’t they re-edit the video and take out all the movie scenes? Just replace them with scenes from Live à Paris and it works, right?

I’ve never quoted myself before, but I just was reminded of a conversation I had with another fan today who firmly believed that no Deluxe version of FIY will be released simply because there are no extra songs or demos... that they weren’t saved/archived.

 

I find this idea absurd. I can see how they wouldn’t save everything - surely hours of video footage was reduced into several minutes, and then trimmed into the final video edit, but I find it hard to believe that what I proposed in the comment above isn’t possible because they discarded all of the additional footage. Same with demos and recording sessions. Surely they kept copies of everything, right?

 

What do you all think?

I was impressed by Mariah getting another #1 hit with an old song using this tactic.

I hope Celine does this too & lands another hit.

But it would have to be for a huge song... Because You Loved Me could be the perfect choice.

Or Celine could do it for a Christmas song as well... like O Holy Night or Happy Xmas (War Is Over)

Mariah has a huge hunger to be #1. I think it comes from her rocky childhood and a need to feel validated / important.

Mariah's voice has also been deteriorating since the late 90s, so she's been forced to come up with new ways to stay in the game / keep her fans engaged.

She really lucked out that Christmas time brings her music back to life each year.

 

If Celine's concerts stopped selling out, I think she would also start to think a bit more like Mariah... and come up with some new tactics.

till today I don’t understand why they made this video so dark and she is wearing black leather. The mood of this song is totally different. IMO the main colours should be white, not dark. This video doesn’t suit this song at all.

 

I actually like the approach they did here. Apart from the fact that - as already mentioned here - this happens in a tv studio when the lights have already gone down, making it darker adds to the mood of the video. When lights are usually turned down, it makes it more romantic, more serious.

 

As opposed to brighter lights, the mood totally changes. For me it would be a different "romantic" like a light, quirky, almost cheesy "romantic." Whereas in a darker version, it would be the more serious, subtle, subdued "romantic."

 

About the makeup, at first I actually thought they made her face too white here. But then I realized, it actually works! The makeup was perfect in highlighting her eyes, her lips, and her facial expression.

The one at the grammys (first video), she does the "split" in synch with the final drop of the drumbeat (3:12). Lets call this SPLIT 1... Then a few seconds later she does the "second split" (SPLIT 2) which is the usual riff as in studio version and almost all of the other live versions.

 

Now, in the white version (3rd video), the split you time-stamped (2:52) is not SPLIT 1. It's just the usual SPLIT 2. In fact, in this video, she does not do SPLIT 1. She actually does similar to the studio version, one long note then SPLIT 2.

 

I prefer her not doing SPLIT 1 live, because it takes away from the "power" of a "one long note" being held. But in almost all live performances like the Tonight Show, Memphis, Grammys, she's gotten used to doing the SPLIT 1 as well.

Out of the videos Team Celine has posted so far for FIY’s 25th anniversary, this video has gotten the most views. 333,000 in a week. It will probably hit a million pretty quickly.

 

 

I can only imagine how fast the views would climb for the official music videos for BYLM, BATB, and MHWGO.

Looks like TC deleted the music video version of IACBTMN with over 100m views on YouTube. It was essentially the same as the one posted as the short version with less than 10m views. They should have deleted that one though and remastered the one with more views.

It's been mentioned before... but it would be lovely if Celine could go back through her albums and try to share some information about each song. It would be so great to know which ones she particularly loved during the recording process.

 

I imagine she's forgotten a bit of what she thought at the time, but maybe going back through her songs will spark some memories.

 

Otherwise, we're at the mercy of interviews she's given in the past. And, luckily, she has said a lot more about her work (in her French interviews) than I ever thought she did.
