Nikosn17 Posted April 7, 2008 at 04:41 PM Posted April 7, 2008 at 04:41 PM The album has LEAKED??? I wanna know how Cruise Control, I Stay In Love, Side Effects and OOC sound at full length. For me Cruise Control and OCC are the most lame songs in the album however many fans love them... but not me. I Stay In Love and Side Effects are like two of the best songs in the album. Quote
alextrusca Posted April 7, 2008 at 05:39 PM Posted April 7, 2008 at 05:39 PM I've listened to the album and really it doesn't impress me that much, there a few songs that stand out by themselves but it is pretty dull and boring. It has a lot of fillers but it isn't really bad material or something unpleasant. This R'n'B feel that she's adopted doesn't make my day. Quote
dj4celine Posted April 7, 2008 at 06:10 PM Posted April 7, 2008 at 06:10 PM My fav. songs from the album are the last three songs: 1. For The Record2. Bye Bye 3. I Wish You Well And this album ranks in among my fav. Mariah albums 01. Butterfly02. Mariah Carey03. TEOM04. E=MC205. Music Box06. Emotions07. Charmbracelet08. Glitter09. Daydream10. Rainbow I didn't rate the compilations and the Xmas album Quote
dj4celine Posted April 7, 2008 at 06:21 PM Posted April 7, 2008 at 06:21 PM I love "Bye Bye" a lot. The lyrics are sooo I agree: 19th number one for sure. Yeah.. the lyrics are just too good Quote
Céline's Blues Posted April 7, 2008 at 06:55 PM Posted April 7, 2008 at 06:55 PM For the Record is indeed one of best songs she has recorded in the last 10 years. The only good one on the new album. Silky and very radio-friendly but not cheap sounding like Touch My Body. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
LuisMa Posted April 7, 2008 at 07:36 PM Posted April 7, 2008 at 07:36 PM Now that you're doing it, lemme rank my Mariah albums 01. Mariah Carey02. Butterfly03. E=MC204. Daydream05. Music Box06. Bye Bye 05. Love Takes Time06. Dreamlover07. Heartbreaker08. Touch My Body09. Hero10. Vision Of Love Quote
alextrusca Posted April 7, 2008 at 07:56 PM Posted April 7, 2008 at 07:56 PM indeed For The Record is a very good song, I think the best on the album. Quote

Ray Posted April 7, 2008 at 09:41 PM Posted April 7, 2008 at 09:41 PM My personal review: 1. Migrate featuring T-Pain (Danja) LOVE it! Usually I don't like rappers, but even T-Pain is okay on this song. Love the opening note!!!!! This should be a single! 2. Touch My Body (C. "Tricky" Stewart and Tarius "The-Dream" Nash) Love it! Also the dance (edit) remixes are really good and the remix featuring The Dream. LOVE IT! 3. Cruise Control featuring Damian Marley (Jermaine Dupri) Great! Something different for Mariah. Love the way she sings with the Jamaican accent! So funny! 4. I Stay in Love (Bryan-Michael Cox) Beautiful ballad. Single...? 5. Side Effects featuring Young Jeezy (Scott Storch) Beautiful (though dramatic) lyrics. 6. I'm That Chick (Stargate) LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Single please!!!! I'm that chick you like! 7. Love Story (Jermaine Dupri) Beautiful song. 8. I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time (DJ Toomp) LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of my favorites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9. Last Kiss (Jermaine Dupri) Good. 10. Thanx 4 Nothin' (Jermaine Dupri) Good. 11. O.O.C. (Swizz Beatz) Another up-tempo track. Ever since the Daydream album I've wondered where the up-tempo tracks had gone. But they're back and I love them: O.C.C., That chick, Loving u long time... GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 12. For the Record (Bryan-Michael Cox) Good song. One of my husband's favorites (along with Loving u long time and Last kiss). 13. Bye Bye (Stargate) It brings many fans to tears. However, not me. Although I do like it. Great song to end a concert for years to come. 14. I Wish You Well (James Poyser) Beautiful last song of the album. It's always nice to hear her do a gospel song. Total album:BRILLIANT!!!! All songs are good, which makes it better than Glitter, Charmbracelet or The Emancipation of Mimi. LuisMa Posted April 7, 2008 at 09:52 PM Posted April 7, 2008 at 09:52 PM Thanks for your review Ray. I haven't listened to the whole album yet, but now I'm excited about it, given that many of you are really happy with it. Will listen to it tonight. Quote
Prince Whiskers Posted April 8, 2008 at 06:44 AM Posted April 8, 2008 at 06:44 AM For the Record is indeed one of best songs she has recorded in the last 10 years. The only good one on the new album. Prince Whiskers Posted April 8, 2008 at 06:50 AM Posted April 8, 2008 at 06:50 AM dhena and Nikosn, "Glitter" flopped because when the movie came out, people thought the CD was just as bad, and it had the misfortune of being released on 9/11. dj4celine Posted April 8, 2008 at 10:43 AM Posted April 8, 2008 at 10:43 AM (edited) Thanks Nikson for the pics. (But I already downloaded them ) And weren't there were some clips on youtube few hours back?? But somehow it got deleted now From what I saw in the clips, I thought it was a good performance but I still doubt whether or not it was 100% LIVE And as Ray's given his reviews for each and every song, I'll give mine too later tonight. All I can say is that the more I listen to it, the more I like it Edited April 8, 2008 at 10:46 AM by dj4celine Quote
Nikosn17 Posted April 8, 2008 at 11:04 AM Posted April 8, 2008 at 11:04 AM I don't think it will be 100 % live either. I heard some snippets too. Quote

Nikosn17 Posted April 9, 2008 at 06:06 PM Posted April 9, 2008 at 06:06 PM Mariah is expected to be #1 with ''Touch My Body'' this week too. Mariah Carey "Touch My Body": (11,900 airplay + 16,815 sales). = 28.750Lewis - "Bleeding Love": 27,614 (7,000 airplay + 20,614 sales) = 27.614Madonna - "4 Minutes": 25,675 (4,000 airplay + 21,675 sales) = 25.645 Quote
LuisMa Posted April 10, 2008 at 03:52 AM Posted April 10, 2008 at 03:52 AM (edited) "Touch My Body" hangs on to the top of The Billboard Hot 100 for a second week, facing strong competition from the song she dislodged from #1, Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love," which rebounds 4-2. Next week could be a difficult week for Mariah to hold on to the top spot for a third week, since Lewis' airplay is skyrocketing and her album was released yesterday. Nikosn17 Posted April 10, 2008 at 06:36 AM Posted April 10, 2008 at 06:36 AM "Touch My Body" remains at #1 for a 2nd week in a row on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart, issue date April 19, 2008. By doing so, Mariah is now tied with Elvis Presley for the artist with the most cumulative weeks at the top position of the Hot 100 Chart. Each of them has spent 79 weeks at #1. This woman is unstopable. Quote
