I disagree. She has always been respectful to every singer even if he/she is a complete looser. She never said anything bad about another artist.

NO way! she always bashed Whitney and Celine coz they were not songwriters, I've read many articles(also when she was interviewed by a famous italian newspaper) Mariah is used to those declarations

Oh God. I don't believe it and I won't. She is just not that type. I think I have watched/listened/read a lot more interviews with Mariah than you but anyway... Same thing was about Jennifer Lopez like 3-4 months ago when they said she called her a pig or something like that. She denied that when they asked her. She would never say something like this. She often says that she is not only a singer but a writer as well and that not many female singers write their songs but I doubt she said ''Ohhh Whitney and Celine are blah because they don't write their own songs, duh they are not in my category'' or something like that. i lurve mariah (everybody knows it), but i really look at her as a very diva-ish woman and she's always acting as if she's the most important thing on earth (she & her team have a bad record here in the philippines). there are so many negative write ups about her attitude, so the best thing we can do is just deal with it. thousands of negativities about her is still surfacing the magazines, internets etc... reason enough for me to believe it. still love her though.

Mariah Carey fans booed the pop superstar at an autograph signing on Thursday when she showed up two hours late and left before signing albums for devotees who had waited eight hours to meet her. The singer, who was promoting her new album E=MC2 at Universal City Walk in Los Angeles, left tired fans fuming when she stopped signing and "went Home." i guess comparing her Emotions era to E=MC2 is pretty unfair. she was never chubby during that era. it's just her big hair that makes her huge. her fattest look was during the Rainbow-TEOM era, especially the Live 8 performance. she looked very terrible and untidy!

There is some serious hate for Mariah here. I am a big fan of both Mariah and Celine but I would put all this bashing down to jealousy over how well Mariah is doing as compared to Celine. While I am a bigger fan of Mariah's earlier music than her current music, I have to say that I think it was brave of Mariah to actually break away and decide to do RnB way back in 1996, which is totally not what people think about her trying to fit in with the "hip-hop crowd" and to "sell records". It is ridiculous. Anyway it seems that E=MC2 is coming up to be Mariah's best first week sales ever.

They compared her with 1991 not because she was fat then but because she was very thin back then. And this is actually not Emotions era. It's still Mariah Carey era. This is the beginning of 1991. Emotions is released in september.

In the British version of OK! Magazine, the singer told a reporter that she doesn’t aspire to become a mother right now.

 

"It's hard to have kids in this world. I don't think I could properly educate a child right now. Maybe in the future, but I actually haven't thought about it,” the New York Daily News quoted her, as saying.

 

In fact, she said that having children would leave her feeling "violated….I know that's a kind of weird thing to say, but that's how I am.”

 

She added: “For now I enjoy my dog Jack's company. It's definitely because of childhood traumatic stuff. The whole not wanting to have a baby as a baby."

 

Currently Carey is in London to promote a new album, and has confessed spending a lot of time babying herself.

 

And of her extravagant demands at Claridge's, where she is staying in London, she said: "You gotta take care of yourself. You have to try and stay pretty, you know." (ANI)
