Nikosn17 Posted March 25, 2008 at 07:43 AM Posted March 25, 2008 at 07:43 AM OH Myyyyyyy.............. I heard the new performance and.... it was terrible. When I saw this I though ''The Adventures Of Mimi'' tour was Daydream.... And I can't believe I'm gonna say this but we can only dream about performances as good as TAOM tour's ones. This can be in TOP 3 worst Mariah performances ever.I don't even want to post the link. Quote

dj4celine Posted March 25, 2008 at 09:38 AM Posted March 25, 2008 at 09:38 AM Yeah... but WBT was worse than TMB .... the high notes were clearly lipped and then the parts that were LIVE were atrocious Quote
Prince Whiskers Posted March 25, 2008 at 11:14 AM Posted March 25, 2008 at 11:14 AM SHOCKER: A local fan of Mimi told me that Mariah has been struggling with NODULES in her vocal chords hence her inability to sing the way she did before. Other singers with her condition would have stopped but to her credit, she has chosen to go on. Surgery has been advised to her but I suppose she doesn't want to risk it. After all, we all know what happened to poor Julie Andrews. Quote http://cdn.webecoist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/modern-pet-solo-blown-glass.jpg
Bellamy Posted March 25, 2008 at 12:49 PM Posted March 25, 2008 at 12:49 PM Thanks for the entertainment of this week. She sounds so like Whitney on drug. She even drinks water on stage like Whitney. Nikosn17 Posted March 25, 2008 at 03:37 PM Posted March 25, 2008 at 03:37 PM well it was a terrible performance but let's not say it'll forever be like that. She clearly had a cold. SNL performance were a lot better. I just hope she'll be better for AI performances. Quote

tonybower Posted March 25, 2008 at 04:46 PM Posted March 25, 2008 at 04:46 PM I'm not a Mariah fan and I am usually quite defensive when it comes to her and Celine. When I read the stories about this being a terrible performance I had to watch the clip. Now, maybe it is because I don't have anything to comapre it with, but the performance didn't seem that bad. She certainly struggles at times but it's not awful. She does seem very relaxed on stage but a bit over-confident. I don't like her stage presence at all. And I really don't get why she feels the need to treat her voice on stage in front of everybody with those sprays and water. What's that about? I think she has having some crisis about approaching 40 because she doesn't seem to have changed in all these years. Celine seems much more grounded and mature. Back to the performance. It didn't seem terrible. The songs aren't belters and it's what I expected. But it was not impressive in the slightest. And that's what is so sad... watching somebody like Mariah Carey struggle to compete with their own former glory. It must be such a horrible thing for a singer to lose their voice... your livelihood and credibility suddenly thrown into question. The same applies to Celine... I doubt she could perform Le blues du businessman the way she did in Paris in 1995. She still has her voice and she'll always be number one for me. But watching Mariah's below average performance is very upsetting and it just hope it doesn't happen to Celine any time soon. If Celine loses her voice, she'll just quit and become a very happy full-time mother. But what will Mariah do? I feel sorry for her. Celine has much more strong voice than Mariah's. Mariah's voice has been changing all the time since she started. That is why her tours are much shorter than Celine's. For example she would never do a thing similar to what Celine did with her show in Las Vegas just because her voice can't handle it. It looks like it gets tired very fast. Quote
Black Kitten Posted March 25, 2008 at 08:31 PM Posted March 25, 2008 at 08:31 PM i doubt celine's will lose her voice someday. the infamous deterioration of mariah started way back in 1997 when she's just 27. celine is now almost 40 years old. her voice is as powerful as ever. the nasality of her voice isn't a problem. and i do believe she can still do ABMS. celine never lost her range since the beginning. mariah has a husky voice, and singing high notes is the riskiest thing she will ever do. she overused her voice to impress her public more and silent her detractors. look what happened... she certainly don't deserve to be bashed, especially if you are a fan of celine dion who is very obvious a lot better than mariah in terms of live performances. if we are confident that celine is way better than mimi, why bash her? why say rude comments about her performances? when all is said and done, celine will always be celine, and mariah will always be mariah. they are great in their own ways. they are 2 of the most respected vocalists ever graced the planet. let's leave it there. I honestly have very little knowledge of Mariah's performances or the changes in her voice. I always considered her to have a flawless voice even if it wasn't quite as polished as Celine's. Maybe it's true that she exerted herself to impress the public when she first started. Sad to think she's been downhill since 27. I always wondered where all the ballads went... Whatever the case, she clearly hasn't looked after her voice properly. People would laugh at Celine for her days of endless silence and other techniques for preserving her voice. But clearly that's what a singer needs to do... They need to make sure they are singing properly but they also need to look after their voice when they're not singing... Doesn't sound like much fun but the results cannot be denied... just check out Celine's liver performances, even after 25 years in the business. But nodules do sound painful and I wouldn't wish them on anyone. Hope Mariah recovers. Black Kitten Posted March 26, 2008 at 12:18 AM Posted March 26, 2008 at 12:18 AM (edited) she should rest at least 2-3 years cause resting really helped her voice recover. remember the glitter era when there's almost no project for her, no huge concerts, and came back for Charmbracelet (which i think her worst album ever). this may be her worst album but her live performances during CB tour was good, vocally. though not as impressive as her Daydeam era, but great when compared to her last tour. the Dreamlover is as good as her 1995 voice. honey & heartbreaker are awsome. always be my baby is a superb performance, but Hero still s**ks.
