I like Mariah's new song "Beautiful" it's very folky sounding with motown. Very catchy! Because of Beautiful and Almost Home, I am anxious to hear how her other songs sound like. This is the Mariah Carey I know and love at her best.

A bit disappointed with the video. Yeah she looks great for her age and all that but without it the song sounded classier to me. And some of the moments with the yellow dress seem a bit awkward to me

I actually do like the sound of the song, but it's more like Miguel featuring Mariah Carey. He has more time on the song than she does. She's almost to the point of doing background vocals with a small solo verse (which was basically how Triumphant was as well). It is a good song though. The video is ridiculous! She's basically sitting on a motorcycle in her leather bra and panties doing those stupid "innocent" hand motions and stuff trying to be sexy, and then standing in her yellow dress pulling it up to reveal her 43 year old crotch. She's basically doing a Benjamin Button, she's spending a lot more time in bras and panties in her late 30's and early 40's and then in her 20's, she was wearing dresses and acting more like she was in her 40's.

As reported on Tuesday, "#Beautiful" is off to a strong start at radio and on a sales front, and is expected to lead Carey's 13th studio album, due out this summer on Island Def Jam. The follow-up to 2009's "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" will feature production from The-Dream, Jermaine Dupri and Mike WiLL Made-It, among others; Carey and Miguel produced and wrote "#Beautiful" by themselves.

Although "#Beautiful" did not register on this week's Hot 100, its likely debut next week will expand Carey's impressive track record on the chart. The singer has tallied 44 Hot 100 entries -- 27 of which have reached the Top 10.

In her 20s she was involved with 'Sony' and Tommy and they probably wanted a certain image for her, and didn't allow her to dress as she wanted. Now she has this freedom and it's like she's trying to make it up for all those 'wasted' years.

As for the video, it's sweet but nothing special. Anyway, it could become a summer hit, who knows?

BTW, this could be a dumb question but why are Mariah fans called 'lambs'? Really, I don't know and I'm just curious.

"#Beautiful" enters the UK chart at number 39, her first Top 40 single in almost four years!

Mariah Carey soars onto a host of Billboard's Nielsen BDS-based airplay tallies with "#Beautiful," featuring Miguel. The song starts on Pop Songs at No. 22; Adult Contemporary (No. 23); Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop (No. 29);and Adult Pop Songs (No. 35).

Coordinated airplay on Clear Channel Media and Entertainment stations aided the song's first week. Beginning at 7 a.m. EST on Monday, May 6 (the first day of the chart tracking week), "#Beautiful" played at the top of each hour until 11 p.m. on approximately 230 Clear Channel outlets. Still, stations in other chains played "#Beautiful" over its first seven days of availability, including CBS Radio-owned Pop SOngs panelists WBBM Chicago (61 spins), WNOW New York and KMVQ San Francisco (32 each).

With the bow of "#Beautiful," the lead single from Carey's forthcoming 13th studio album, due this summer, Carey ups her count to 30 Pop Songs entries dating to the chart's Oct. 3, 1992, launch, tying Britney Spears for the second-most appearances. Only Rihanna (35) has tallied more visits. The song's debut rank is Carey's third-best, trailing only the starts of "Dreamlover" (the list's all-time top starter: No. 12 in 1993) and "Endless Love," with Luther Vandross (No. 20, 1994).

Miguel makes his second appearance on Pop Songs. He previously charted with "Adorn," which reached No. 35 in December.

Well, TBH I don't care for the world tour. She has never been a touring artist. It's been in the charts that she's best known for and #Beautiful is one of those songs, regardless of the artists, that deserve to be a huge hit. From the slick production to the naughty lyrics to the smooth vocals, this is so different from the silly Guetta type of songs and the pathetic Mr. Worldwide Pitbull crap that's been on the radio for the past two years.

i find the video hilarious - could have been good but yes classic mariah over doing the ridiculous sexuality and i find the fact that they put the little giggles in and laughing in over the music really uncomfortable haha it makes it feel like a spoof.

The track launched on Radio Songs at No. 44 last week with 31 million impressions after just two days of airplay, aided heavily on its first day (May 6) by coordinated airplay on Clear Channel Media and Entertainment stations. This week, with that hefty first day of spins now in the previous tracking period, "#Beautiful" maintains its No. 44 Radio Songs rank and 31 million in audience (up less than 1%). Following its first full week of sales, it enters Digital Songs at No. 10 (114,000), marking her eighth top 10 on the tally and first since "Obsessed" reached No. 6 in 2009. "#Beautiful" falls shy of the Streaming Songs chart with 461,000 first-week streams.

The lead single from Carey's forthcoming 13th studio album charges 32-7 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and 16-2 on R&B Songs and debuts at No. 1 on R&B Digital Songs.

I don't like the video for Beautiful. It could have been more to it than her just acting sexy. The video for American Idol was good. I loved how she performed all those songs quickly. Her part of Beautiful was awesome. Luv it! However, now I am trying to be hater, but her voice is sounding a different because of her age and usage like aged up but whatever she was good regardless.

Not true. She recorded it the day before. She sang it three times and then it was cut and pasted to the one shown on tv.

In between those three takes she sang bits of Underneath The Stars, The Roof and other songs.
