It will be interesting to watch her as judge, I think she is the biggest star as judge in any competition. I was looking how many shows Mariah did during her more than 20 years career and I was surprised she did only 179 concert shows, it´s so little for so succsesfull singer she is and was, Céline did more than 1500 shows, I know threre are many shows becasue of Vegas, but still it´s much more. It doesn't mean we love her less but she is capable of dissapointing us. Just like Mariah does with her fans. You can't please everyone, it's true. Yes I agree there's too much rap, they could've cut the second rap verse, but the melody and the zillion vocals towards the end are mindblowing! Mariah is a very different artist than Celine. Mariah's first 'concert' was her Unplugged concert in 1992, when she had already released two albums. Her first tour in the US was in 1994. Her first concert tour in Europe was in 1996 where she only did FOUR shows. (I was lucky, I got to see two of them.) Mariah still looks uncomfortable on stage. It's not her thing. She loves to write songs, add layers of vocals and the whole recording and producing process of making an album. Celine is the opposite. She doesn't write songs, but loves to perform night after night and tour the whole world. (Thanks to that I have seen Celine through the years since 1995.) As for Triumphant, I really LOVE it. The Throwback Remix is on repeat when we're in the car. And even my partner (who is not that much into MC like I am) can't believe it's not all over the charts. And that's a big compliment coming from him. I agree about the version with Rick Ross and Meek Mill. That's not my thing, but that's why Mariah released several versions, so there is a version for everyone. She also said the song comes first and if the song asks you to take a backseat, there's nothing wrong with that.
