rakesh Posted February 14, 2012 at 09:34 PM Posted February 14, 2012 at 09:34 PM Good Morning America Appearance Postponed Mariah's appearance on GMA, originally due to air live tomorrow, has been postponed. Mariah was scheduled to discuss the association between herself, Jenny Craig and the American Heart Association, and debut her new Public Service Announcement which she co-directed with Daniel Pearl. A rep for Carey said: "Mariah is still mourning the death of her friend and collaborator Whitney Houston and thought it was too soon to appear on TV to discuss anything else." Mariah's 1998 collaboration with Whitney Houston, "When You Believe", won an Academy Award for "Best Song" in 1999. Soon after she heard the tragic news of Whitney's passing, Mariah released a statement saying: "Heartbroken and in tears over the shocking death of my friend, the incomparable Ms. Whitney Houston. My heartfelt condolences to Whitney's family and to all her millions of fans throughout the world. She will never be forgotten as one of the greatest voices to ever grace the earth." Quote
rakesh Posted February 14, 2012 at 09:37 PM Posted February 14, 2012 at 09:37 PM Mariah in NYC While other artists were busy partying and enjoying the festivities of the 2012 Grammy Awards, a certain diva was focusing on her craft. Mariah Carey visited a voice and ear specialist in New York City last evening for a routine checkup. Struggling to avoid the photographers, Carey was "heartbroken" by the recent passing of her friend and onetime collaborator Whitney Houston. The two singers were regularly compared to each other because of their massive vocal ranges and incredible control but maintained a private friendship away from the media spotlight. Quote
Nikosn17 Posted February 15, 2012 at 01:53 AM Posted February 15, 2012 at 01:53 AM (edited) Mariah seems really upset. I really hope she and Celine take part in a Whitney tribute in the near future. There is no one better than them for a Whitney tribute. They were always considered the big 3 - Celine, Whitney and Mariah. Edited February 15, 2012 at 01:53 AM by Nikosn17 Quote

Nikosn17 Posted February 18, 2012 at 11:23 AM Posted February 18, 2012 at 11:23 AM Mariah Carey Attending Whitney Houston’s Funeral Exlusive: add Mariah Carey’s name to the list of celebrities who will be attending Whitney Houston’s funeral tomorrow. She’s going with L.A. Reid. She will not perform, however. The performers include Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Bebe and Cece Winans, and possibly Alicia Keys. Speakers include Clive Davis, and oddly, Kevin Costner. Bobby Brown and his nephew and other members of the Brown family, plus all the Houstons, Drinkards, and Dionne Warwick’s family are expected. Mariah’s husband, Nick Cannon, will not be there. He has health problems and twins to watch. Whitney and Mariah were always pitted against each other in a kind of fake feud during their heyday. But they recorded a hit duet called “When You Believe.” http://www.showbiz411.com...whitney-houstons-funeral Quote
Chula Posted February 27, 2012 at 08:12 PM Posted February 27, 2012 at 08:12 PM Is it true that many of Mariah's tours have not been so successful. Statistics indicated that the Angel tour's dates in the States were mostly held at theaters, not arena, and each date grossed merely $500,000!!!! Quote
dj4celine Posted February 27, 2012 at 08:52 PM Posted February 27, 2012 at 08:52 PM Yes, her tours have been mostly flops Quote
Chula Posted February 28, 2012 at 12:19 AM Posted February 28, 2012 at 12:19 AM Any particular reason why? Quote
Black Kitten Posted February 28, 2012 at 06:54 AM Posted February 28, 2012 at 06:54 AM was lucky enough to catch her Charmbracelet Tour in 2003 when she visited our country. during that time, she's in really good shape vocally. definitely one of the greatest nights of my life. BUT, in my very humble opinion, her main problem is, as a performer, she's quite stiff. very little stage presence and you can tell she's very easy to outshine onstage. put Celine and Mariah in one stage and you can tell the big difference. Mariah's a vocalist, but hardly a "performer." Quote
Chula Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:31 AM Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:31 AM I am still not convinced. She has sold 200 million albums but people don't go to her shows because she's too shy. This doesn't make sense! During Divas Live 1998, she was not robotic AT ALL!!! Quote
dj4celine Posted February 29, 2012 at 04:29 AM Posted February 29, 2012 at 04:29 AM Try watching her live DVDs and you'll see what we mean Trust me, I'm a huge fan but her live 'performances' makes me shudder at times in just the same way when Celine does her weird dance moves Quote
PriscillaBarragan Posted March 1, 2012 at 08:44 AM Posted March 1, 2012 at 08:44 AM When she was younger her tours were very successful. If anything, I think her tours after 2001 were pretty bad. It seems the way everyone sees her now is different. But The Emancipation of Mimi tour was pretty good as far as sells go. Her vocals were ok, but eh. Speaking of tours, she's going to be performing in New York at Gotham Hall on 3/1, which is tomorrow Quote

I liked it but it was released around the time of September 11 so that didn't work out too well for her. Also it could've been better as far as the directing goes but it was ok. Quote

Yeah I agree with everying you said. I always worndered if would've been released in another date that year in 01 if it would have done any better than it did. She wasn't a good actress but she did a well enough job. I actually was emotional in some parts. There For Me was released on the cd-single of 'Hero/Never Too Far' in 2001.Hero?
