Taking Chances World Tour DVD Pre-Release Thread Part 1

Well, the thing is that they released 3 versions of the AND show even though the show was exactly the same on the 3 DVDs. Following this, it would make sense to release 2 versions of the TCWT since there are two distincts shows (and songs!): one in english and one in french.

Again, just a guess. I am really looking forward to seeing the result.

If they end up not including the montreal and boston show, then It would be a lot of money thrown away...yet that's what they've done in the past with the first AND DVD.

Anyway, DVD's and Blu ray's, if authored in a proper way, can play a movie with or without some segments, hence the viewer could chose before starting the show if he wants only the concert or the concert with the extra footage in between the songs. In this case it would be okay...It'd be even better for them cause they wouldn't have to face the mess that some songs are identical (e;g Power of love and the holy trinity of playback) on different shows. The viewer would get the best song from different shows, including the songs she did not sing everywhere. It'd be a comprehensive setlist of the tour, at the price of some continuity error, but definitely a better experience for the fan.

Any extra songs not performed in Boston or Montreal should be kept seperate, as Celine wasn't on the high-tech stage for IGTMIM, CFTF, TJTWIM, plus she wore different clothes. It would be a complete mess if they stuck these performances to make one concert.

Sounds like the DVD will be really cool! I love getting tons of behind the scenes footage but I definitely wanna see a full concert as well.

I think that releasing two versions of dvd (French and English) is fine for me as long as we receive documentary AND concert because they whole magic will disappear (in terms of the concert) if you know what I mean... and it'd be quite wise... but who knows what sony will do:P

I know that setlist was 50% like A New Day... but I would like to see full ABM, new IA, FA, ESNRQ etc...

I actually like this Docu. Idea. It's different for her and I'm sure it would be interesting to see different songs in different country. It would be a nice continuity for this tour. First the Bombardier book that gave a portrait of Celine popularity around the world, The Picture book of Celine all over the globe and then a DVD with footage and performances everywhere on earth..

wow this sounds absolutely great. I am particularly satisfied that they do not just show clips of TSMGO or PQTME for the bonus, but they show the whole songs. I hope they included the My Love version of Arras or Beijin, the two best ones.

How come no one talked about it before? The screening was yesterday and we only hear about it now, although there seems to be a "lot" of people who could have gone.

Still, it is weird that they filmed both Montréal and Boston shows if they are not to be included in the DVD. To me, it would be normal to release 2 versions of the DVD, one for the french speaking fans and one for the english speaking fans. There would be one DVD of the show and one with the documentary.

That's only a guess though. Actually more a hope than a guess.

I think that's what there going to do... at least that's what i hope for, because it also would be weird to have an documentary with the same songs, only in different country's

What it would be, i'm happy to have something of that tour in dvd

About the screening, a lot of 'non' fans were invited is my guess, would be cool to had a viewing in some big cities :clap:

Actually, this kind of worries me...

Madonna had a similar issue in 2005. Fans had been waiting for the release of her Re-Invention Tour DVD for quite some time. While Madonna was touring in 2004 with said tour, she was also filming a documentary about the tour. The documentary was premiered on MTV and DVD, and to this day the Re-Invention Tour DVD has never been released. Madonna said herself in an interview that the tour DVD wouldn't be released until the documentary had been in release for an undisclosed amount of time, due to contract stipulations. Fans have asked her manager, Guy Oseary, about the Re-Invention Tour DVD and he has avoided answering the questions.

My point is, that if Celine is releasing a documentary about her tour, there is the off chance that the tour DVD itself could see a delayed release if it's released at all. Of course, Kylie Minogue also released a documentary following her Showgirl Homecoming tour which was released on DVD alongside the tour DVD it was a part of.

It just makes me nervous is all... after being disappointed with the Madonna release that has yet to happen (six years later).

Hmmm.....

As long as we get the regular concert in conjunction with this, this is awesome! It potentially gives us songs like Think Twice, A Song For You, I Got The Music In Me, That's Just The Woman In Me, and other songs.....for ABM, I hope they use the live version performed on the opening night rather than the playback.

The fact that the "title" of this is called Through The Eyes Of The World basically tells me that this is the main thing. A title of a concert DVD would NEVER be something pertaining to the bonus section. That's stupid.

So prepare for a documentary concert DVD!

It'd be a huge drawback not to have the whole concerts as most of took part in it and would have as a souvenir....

It really worries me now as you said that Madonna had sth similar... Well I would like a documentary part but not if there is not going to be a concert at all... it's all strange... after such long time we should have the details already...

I agree.

If they're doing a documentary, it should be as a bonus feature, and if they talk about any particular songs during it, then they should just have short clips of them...

We talk here about a bonus feature. Just the Bonus.....They recorded the Boston and Montreal concerts. Before the concert started they announced that the people attend the dvd taping. They did that just in these 2 cities.

So don't worry about it. The full concert will be released. Céline is not Madonna and vice versa :thumbsup2:
