We all know this relese date is a secret to when the DVDs comin out, wonder if it's a suprise an it's coming in December lol doubt it but maybe lol. I'm so excited for a trailer too, I can imagin just watching it over and over again lol I hope we can keep this topic positive from now on lets all be happy for the great months ahead, I know I am!

Of course Im kidding but this is ridiculous...After postponing the A New Day DVD for years various times, announcing they would release both the original blonde dvd as well as the newer version of the show..which we never got the blonde dvd as announced previously of course, and now almost 2 years or more after the start of the tour...still not even a release date...yep its very frustrating. I would NOT be surprised if we got a single disc of an incomplete concert(songs cut out) with one extra: A day in the life of Celine Dion..running time 4 minutes. I am not being sarcastic when I say I am now expecting a very below average presentation of the DVD. I hope I am wrong..I want to be wrong lol...but its now getting to the point of being ridiculous. Lets hope the dvd is atleast edited correctly(unlike the A New Day DVD). I am looking forward to Celines production team to prove me wrong and go above and beyond everyones expectations with this DVD...lets hope they atleast create a masterpiece DVD experience for this tour. We do deserve it.....and so does Celine.

What was edited incorrectly on A NEW DAY? Well..it was recorded over a series of 5 nights as we know. Her make up is not consistent every night..her lipstick is lighter on night, darker the next night, hardly any makeup one night. One night lots of sparkly eye glitter, one night none at all. That was the fault of the stylists and makeup artists. Her white jacket was a tad different on different nights. Her black boots were different on a different night...during a few songs you can see her black shoes change a few times. So all those aspects have nothing to do with editing just poor behind the scene wardrobe and styling issues for the dvd. It really isnt that difficult to keep things like that consistent for a dvd filming. Basic..if you have sparkley eye makeup..wear it every night...if you have one shade of lipstick wear that same shade of lipstick for the entire duration of the filming for the dvd...especially since they were trying to pass it off as one complete show in one night for the dvd viewing audience...as for the editing...well its amateurish at best. One shot her arm is up the next its down. One shot shes singing into the mic, the next shes holding the mike down at her legs and then the next shot its back up to her mouth. At the beginning of the song A New Day Has Come..she is walking towards on the audience and you can see some horrible editing mistakes..its not one or two or three...or even 15..its about 70 to 100 obvious editing mistakes that could have easily been fixed and corrected to look more consistent and professional..It was very sloppy work. The thing that worries me...the same production team, director etc that worked on A New Day..worked on the Taking Chances DVD...I hope that was edited alot better than A New Day..I really do. There are many other mistakes about the A New Day DVD that I wont mention..but yeah..it wasnt done as well as it could be. Not at all. Lets hope they take alot more care with the upcoming DVD. PS. They did a wonderful job with the extras on the A New Day DVD...that part was amazing..so bravo for that aspect

At the beginning of the song A New Day Has Come..she is walking towards on the audience and you can see some horrible editing mistakes..its not one or two or three...or even 15..its about 70 to 100 obvious editing mistakes that could have easily been fixed and corrected to look more consistent and professional..It was very sloppy work.

 

The only things I have noticed were the lipstick and her arm, will look more closely next time I watch the DVD. But what editing mistakes are made when she is walking??? 70 - 100 mistakes :o where are those?? I'm just curious, not saying they aren't there, just wondering what you feel the mistakes made in the beginning are.

Hey...I am sure this post might be removed because its not entirely directed to the Taking Chances DVD...but to your questions about the editing mistakes...I have seen honestly atleast 70-80 editing mistakes and thats not counting throughout the entire show..just watching in several times I notice the mistakes and continuity issues each time. I hope the Taking Chances DVD has limited amounts of editing mistakes..The A New Day editing mistakes could have EASILY been fixed. Let me go over some off the top of my head..at the beginning of A New Day Has Come..watch for her arm to be up then down then up then down about 4 times...During Power of Love..watch as she walks up the stairs..arm pointed out and then the next shot..its down..also when she reaches the top watch her legs..one second they are one way and then the screen fades into another shot and she is facing a completely different direction! Again..this is very easily noticed if you watch once again. There are about 4 or 5 other big editing mistakes in Power..Its All Coming Back to Me Now..has about 5 mistakes...Because You Loved me...as shes facing the screen toward Elijah..watch her arms..Oh..and I have to say one of my biggest issues that I cannot get over is during IM Alive...when she sings..I just cant wait for the rest of my life..oh baby...you hear her sing but her lips are not moving...watch and you will see exactly what I mean..its unacceptable editing wise. Oh and Seduces Me..you can see her lipstick change color every 10 seconds..and hair..again back to the makeup and hair stylist...its a dvd filming..keep it consistent so it doesnt look like it was filmed over 5 days lol..anyways a few more...If I Could..a few mistakes not as bad as others. Pour que tu m'aimes encore..about 6 mistakes mostly involving the arms and the way she is holding the mike and then next its totally different..I Surrender..Big mistake right before the last high note with her arm sticking out on the big screen then the next shot from a different angle its down..again this sounds like nitpicking but when you watch the show its very obvious that the editing was horribly done..and could have very easily been corrected with a different angle. Then the black boots come into play..sometimes shes in some shoes that are low fitting..some times through the next few songs you see high leather boots during the same song..then back to the low shoes. (didnt she start wearing those boots a few weeks AFTER the DVD filming??) That doesnt make any sense to me why they would stick 2 oe 3 shots of her wearing the high black boots from many weeks after the DVD filming..very strange. If you watch the dvd with all this in mind..and I really am not trying to ruin anyones experience..but the editing mistakes are there and they cant be changed and in my mind..it does take away alot of watching it as one actual real show. It takes away from the "illusion" that its one night..one complete show and that the audio was just from the night we are watching on the DVD..which of course its not. The only reason I am complaining about this is because for the Taking Chances DVD..I would really really really like them to edit the concert together professionally and not take such little care as they did with A New Day. Taking Chances was filmed over 2 nights..so its probably not going to be big issue as far as continuity is concerned...but i guess time will tell with that. So sorry for the long essay but those are just a "few" of the careless editing problems with the A New Day DVD...on to the Taking Chances DVD...lets hope its perfect!

Put it this way ive seen the DVD everyweek since it came out and i havent noticed anything worth moaning about, i thought it was all great, an i still do, evey project has problems, but its not good to dwell on them, its a great concert, and so will this DVD!

You know, don't shoot me or anything.. But I don't mind waiting. My favourite band shot a live dvd five years ago, still isn't there. Pretty bummed about that, because they don't have another live dvd.

 

But Celine got lots!! She has a long career with a lot of live footage, so if you wanne see her live, you can! Isn't it pretty amazing how much they released so far? Yeah, lot of it got cancelled, but still.. It sucks they postpone everything, but untill we have this dvd, we have all her other ones. And a lot of HQ performances on youtube and the multimedia section.

 

So let's wait for this damn dvd with a smile on our faces because on our tv's all her other dvd's will be playing untill march/may/whatever.

Just a quick respone regarding the editing mistakes in AND:

 

In the behind the scenes DVD "throughout the concert backstage in one evening", the violinist (sorry, don´t know his name) has a HAIRCUT halfway through the videotaping. He has one hairstyle backstage, and another on stage performing. Talk about editing mistake.

 

Hadn't noticed the mistakes mentioned by the other forum members though. But I probably will, from now on...
