LukeD Posted November 16, 2023 at 09:38 PM Posted November 16, 2023 at 09:38 PM Mariah is actually promoting her Christmas album unlike Celine. AIFCIY has achieved 1.500.000.000 streams on Spotify. This has drawn attention to other songs from Merry Christmas. Celine has not been in the public eye since 2020 and there's been 0 promotion of her catalogue. She is doing OK given the circumstances. 2 Quote

Sony could be doing more to get her on Christmas playlists, and to go viral on TikTok. 2 Quote

They move like they’re part of Mariah’s team like there’s salary lol. Celine fans. I see some but not much. She has a wall with pictures of all her #1s singles This has been transmitted to her fan base who's the most hated one on the Internet. At least as far as veteran artists are concerned. Majority of Madonna, Whitney, Celine fans cannot stand them, when they do not really have a problem with each other. Everyone who's encountered lambs on YT understands what I mean. And yes, I can confirm what you say. They only pick the best seconds of her performances to prove that she still sounds great. I am literal in what I'm saying - seconds! But the truth is that even when she manages to hit a note properly, she then loses all breath control and finds it difficult to pick herself up. She's been like that since late 90s with few notable exceptions. Edited November 17, 2023 at 02:11 PM by LukeD 2 Quote

There’s truth to this. Mariah promotes a cult mentality with her fans. The “Lambs.” Her own insecurities lead to that whole “diva” thing she does. It’s sad because her fans spend so much of their time defending her lackluster singing. Buuuut it’s also true that there are these types of fans for every big artist. I just think that the artist’s persona draws a certain type of fan. Lucky for us, Celine is a humble and kind person. 2 Quote

Trust and believe there are absolute rabid fans of Celine who are just as bad as lambs. I’ve met them, they’ve annoyed me, I’ve told them off. These types of people are not exclusive to Mariah or any other artist. Mariah publicly dragged Celine in her latest memoir, labelling her ''dueling diva'', referring to ''cultural gap'' and ''sheer lunacy''. Yes… Mariah is was just pissed that she wasn’t the only “diva” that got to perform with Aretha Franklin. And the fact of the matter is that night ok Divas Live, Celine was having a top notch vocal day and Mariah sounded like her voice was straining and weak ( which mind you at a time where Mariah’s vocals were still great, she just had an off night) but you DO NOT want your “off” night to be on the day when you share a stage with Aretha Franklin and Celine Dion. So poor Mariah copped it to she had more respect for Aretha, no Mariah your voice shut off and didn’t even give you a chance to help her “lift it”. 4 Quote
KyleVan41 Posted November 17, 2023 at 07:28 PM Posted November 17, 2023 at 07:28 PM (edited) And not to "pick" on her disorder itself, but Mariah does have bi-polar. She revealed that a few years ago. Which used to be named manic-depressive. This mental/emotional condition has definitely affected her ........shall we say, behavior. Even outside of this, she's clearly nuts lol. I personally can't stand watching her perform. She is so uncomfortable and has zero stage presence. Which is why when you look at her Boxscore data compared to Celine's is dismal. And the whole having her team come out and primp her hair and make up is so cringe. Gross. No. Edited November 17, 2023 at 07:31 PM by KyleVan41 Quote
ryba Posted November 17, 2023 at 07:34 PM Posted November 17, 2023 at 07:34 PM (edited) I think that the reason Mariah repeated this whole Divas story from her own stupid perspective in her memories was that she needed to provide some drama in her book as she is known for creating drama. It’s her way to get the public’s attention. Otherwise nobody would care for that book. I think that in reality she likes and respects Celine. Celine even said that they were once hanging out in a recording studio. Mariah also had very kind words for her when she got pregnant and after Rene passed away. I think that her Diva story was so famous that she needed to include it in the book, but at least she didn’t mention Celine by name. Edited November 17, 2023 at 07:41 PM by ryba Quote

I’m thrilled they took the time to record a Christmas album at the peak of her popularity. I wish Whitney Houston did the same… ideally, the year after The Bodyguard. It would’ve been huge. 2 Quote
