Y'all I bought this album new in '98 and was TODAY years old when I realized TATST the song has a different title than TAST album. :bonk:

We tried that email address (and many other email addresses for individual TC members) with Say Yes Céline and never got a single response. Even our initial test emails for topics not related to releasing new material went unanswered. My guess is that after Aldo was cut out of the picture, her team was scaled back quite a bit, or maybe they were laid off after the pandemic began.

 

My advice: dont waste your time. But if you feel the need, then its worth another try I guess. Just dont get your hopes up.

I sent an email to that address in Summer 2019 and got a reply to my inquiry. That was 3 years ago so unsure if it's still monitored on a regular basis.

Mariah's song is what has made her such a big Christmas success... her album is just okay.

To me, there are many other more deserving candidates to be towards the top of this list...

I'm happy Celine is included but she should've ranked a bit higher.

And The Carpenters should've ranked higher as well... Karen Carpenter's voice is perfect for Christmas songs.

 

Yeah! The butter-melting voice of the Carpenters really brings the true spirit of this holly season. I can feel the angels singing from above when the Lord was born when listening to Christmas Portrait. What I mentioned is merely based on the commercial success. For me, I always chestnuts roasting on an open fire by Celine, Michael or Karen.

Yes, Karen Carpenter's warm buttery, haunting vocals are sheer perfection. :)

 

An interesting tidbit: Karen recorded many songs for "Christmas Portrait"... and not all of them were finished and made it onto the album. So Richard finished the remaining ones and released them on "An Old Fashioned Christmas" after her death in 1983. But her vocals were only "work leads" instead of actual final takes. They still sound superb.

It's interesting how Celine appeared on Rosie, promoting the 1998 CBS special but Rosie holds up the Let's Talk About Love CD instead of These Are Special Times. Was the album not completed yet when they aired her These Are Special Times TV special?

That is a keen observation! TAST was released on October 30, 1998. The CBS Special aired November 25. 1998. I guess they were trying to get another holiday push for LTAL before the holiday music took over.

Only Rosie's vocals are added to the song tho. There aren't different vocals by Céline.

Where can I check those numbers? Especially the album update but total streams of songs. I cannot seem to find the options on Spotify.

The show with LTAL was aired in November 1998, on the same day they showed the TAST TV Special. I think they wanted to promote LTAL (for Christmas shopping) and the Tour. And later the TV Special promoted the Christmas Album. And with the AYHGB performance in December 1998, they wanted to boost the sales for TAST in the Christmas Time.
