Davey84 Posted October 10, 2023 at 09:26 AM Posted October 10, 2023 at 09:26 AM Cher finally coming out with a Christmas album! I find this song very catchy! Can you all imagine Celine singing this song or a similar one? Would you love it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPEJooq7kos No I don't think Céline would excel in this type of Christmas song. Of course I'd love some upbeat Christmas songs. But I think that classic Christmas songs would sound best. I like Cher's song too... but it's a little too heavy on the autotune IMO. 1 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

The auto tune was intentional. The song is a nod to BELIEVE as the 25th anniversary is approaching, in addition to not being too Christmassy as Cher had been vocal about not really having much interest through her career to record a Christmas album. 2 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
comingback Posted October 10, 2023 at 05:36 PM Posted October 10, 2023 at 05:36 PM Sony should upload the new Christmas songs, which she recorded with David Foster in 2005/2006. That would be a gift for the fans! 2 Quote

I know that. Cher is also one of my favourite singers, so I am well aware of her repertoire. BUT as I said, I found the amount of auto tune a bit too heavy. To the point were it gets a bit annoying. Moreover, I don't think her voice needs it that much. I was at this forum at the time already, but we never discussed it as far as I remember From Ronny83, May 21, 2009 As you can read above, I asked my contact person at Sony specifically about a Christmas album. And he replied it is scheduled for late October. So it's a Christmas album, indeed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQ_XDo6ortk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwcKXlhX-6o They canceled it in 2009 and instead they promoted TAST. ryba Posted October 10, 2023 at 07:58 PM Posted October 10, 2023 at 07:58 PM Hmm, but wasn't the alleged Christmas album just the re-release of TAST and people at that time thought that it would be a new album with new songs? Quote
smw Posted October 10, 2023 at 10:07 PM Posted October 10, 2023 at 10:07 PM (edited) Cher’s career is astonishing. She’s really covered all the bases… big hit songs and albums since the 1960s… establishing herself as a solo icon after her relationship with Sonny ended… dominating the music charts and television in the 70s… pivoting to movies and winning an Oscar… having a huge comeback at the age of 50… continuing to tour, record albums, make movies, and be a force for so long. She’s amazing and I’m excited about her Christmas album. The ABBA album she did was great too. Edited October 10, 2023 at 10:09 PM by smw 1 Quote

Indeed. Of course, if the song was hypothetically given to Celine, she could release a version which doesn't have as much autotune. I think she could make a song like that really great and elevate it even more with her vocals -- of course Cher still sounds great on the song. I believe Cher said "this is not your grandma's Christmas album" Quote

smw Posted October 13, 2023 at 03:25 PM Posted October 13, 2023 at 03:25 PM (edited) Do we know any of the songs Celine recorded with David Foster for a second Christmas album? I’m hopeful we’ll get to hear these someday… just as we finally heard the Phil Spector songs. Maybe Celine will improve enough to record a new holiday song or two and release a new Christmas album. ryba Posted October 13, 2023 at 04:42 PM Posted October 13, 2023 at 04:42 PM Could it be that Celine recorded Miracle (a lullaby album) and people thought that she recorded Christmas songs with David Foster? I think that’s more plausible. Why would they otherwise hold back a whole Christmas album. It doesn’t make sense. Quote

smw Posted October 18, 2023 at 04:43 PM Posted October 18, 2023 at 04:43 PM (edited) David Foster has written a plethora of songs lol Right. He’s written some very big songs. He co-wrote this huge hit for Chicago, for instance: And on a side note… he’s produced some of my other favorite musicians before ever working with Celine. Like Olivia Newton-John. My favorite collab of theirs is Twist Of Fate. Incredible pop song. I think David is often ego-driven but very talented. And I hope these rumored Christmas songs with Celine are real… and we get to hear them someday. Edited October 18, 2023 at 04:48 PM by smw Quote
PuraVida Posted October 18, 2023 at 04:49 PM Posted October 18, 2023 at 04:49 PM This reminds me of how Marla Mindelle, one of the masterminds behind Titanique and the OG Celine for them, kept repeating in interviews that David Foster had written a ton of Celine's big hits...
